Physically disabled is not a gender or sex, but it is a category people of a gender or sex can fall into. If you are physically sexually disabled, you may also fall under gender neutral, depending on the extent of the handicap.
-
Being born sterile would make you fall under "Disabled". Old age, and you are still male or female, but passed the sexually abled stage of your life cycle. Finally, in case of surgery, yes, you have been neutered. That's sort of the definition of the term.
-
Sterile how? Old age? Surgery? Born Sterile? It makes a difference.
-
I try to build flaws into most of my characters. It makes for better roleplay, although in some cases it's really hard to play it straight.
on topic of gender reassignment surgery, personally I find it to be more cosmetic mutilation than an actual change in gender. Not that I judge anyone who wants it or has gone through it. Until there is an actual change from male to female reproductive capabilities (Or the reverse), the subject has just changed from gender x to gender neuter. -
Just to make you aware, the name "Acanous" is taken on formspring, but not by me.
Given that the person hasn't answered any questions, I'm assuming it's only been done to ensure I don't get the name.
In any case, while the account exists, it isn't mine. -
There is one tag you can use which should clarify your roleplay style and expectations:
[Immersive Roleplayer]
Add this to your bio, don't worry about the futa tag, and people should understand that you're playing your character, not a steriotype.
Myself, I don't have too much experience with this genre. I mostly play male characters, with a total of 6 main male chars against 2 main female chars just because that's my comfort zone.
I have one female char who I had to shelve at lv 29 because she got involved in RP that ended up with her magic'd into a futa. OOC I wasn't sure how the heck to handle this, so IC she broke down, hung up her cape, moved away to somewhere in the states where nobody would recognise her, and tries to live a 'normal' life.
Y'know, like how the majority of cissexual women would propably react to magically sprouting male genitals.
I do know one intersexed person, and they actually enjoy futa RP, as it lets them have somewhere they can express themselves and be appreciated and even lusted after in a safe environment. I know one case isn't a scientific sampling of the population, but I doubt you're at risk of seriously offending anyone with your RP, or your inclination towards such. -
Firstly: I am not doing this for money, and am in fact fronting all the prizes myself. The monetary requirement is there mostly to encourage players not to join if they don't have a good character with which to play. I want to see good players and well balanced teams, with a real chance to succeed.
Secondly: I asked for the team leaders to bring characters that do not have the badge. This is differant than asking for players who do not have the badge.
Most of the populace has a small stable of 50's, generally with only one or two dedicated badge toons. The requirement is there to discourage cheating. Leaders can easilly be checked for the badge before the competition begins. The only alternative to this would be sending a judge with each team. Seeing as there is a limited number of trustworthy judges, and an unknown number of possible teams, this seems like the best option.
Finally: I realize that the IO set cannot be split equally by an 8 player team. Read my opening post.
If you picked a team comprised mainly of your friends in-game, you could quite possibly keep the crafted IOs and give the full inf portion to the one or two players who aren't in your normal group. Or, you could just have me sell them and split the inf evenly.
The money gained from a full set of gladiator's armor sells for somewhere between 3-4 billion.
A Luck of the Gambler +Rech, Crafted, goes for about 160-180 million, at the best of times. The first place prize is greater than the second place prize.
The second place prize is still pretty dang good. -
Well, this way opens the run up to more players. Further, you CAN bring a bunch of your friends, and select them.
There would be a chance that someone else picks one of yours, but it diminishes with greater turnout. -
that would be my bad. Fixing it up.

Greetings, Heroes!
Friday, Jan 21st at 5 PM Pacific/8PM Eastern, Acanous is hosting a Master of Statesman's Task Force race!
Grand Prize of one fully crafted set of Gladiator's Armor
Entry fee is 10,000,000 Influance/Infamy, per entrant.
Team Leaders are required to be Heroes, who do not posess the "Master of Statesman's Task Force" badge at the beginning of the race. Your badge will be your proof of completion.
This competition is otherwise open to any archetype, so long as you meet level requirement and have access to Hero zones.
How it works:
If you wish to compete, you can preregister by posting here, in-game Mailing @Acanous with your choice of entrant, or by showing up with 10 million inf on Jan 21st.
Anyone who did not pre-register is advised to show up early to ensure you get a spot. Judges will be available for registration from 4PM Pacific until 5pm, when teams are selected.
If you are a Team Leader, you will be invited to team by one of the judges. All leaders will roll off for order of teammate selection, with ties being decided by coin flip. Team selection then proceeds one at a time, until all teams are filled.
If you are an entrant, please stand under the globe in Atlas Park as though you were in a Costume Contest so team leaders can easilly survey your archetypes and powers.
Entrants that are not under the globe in Atlas Park when they are called to a team will be disqualified.
Judges will lead extra teams as required until all entrants have a team.
Once all teams have been recorded, team leaders will be free to leave the judge's team and form with their selected players. Once each team leader signals they are ready in local, Acanous will broadcast the "Go".
Teams will make their way to Independance port, and begin a Master of Statesman's Task Force run . This means No Temporary Powers and Team is allowed Zero defeats for the uninitiated.
the first team leader to return to Acanous displaying the "Master of Statesman's Task Force" badge will be declaired the winner.
The Winner will be announced in the "Virtue TFs 2010" channel.
The 2nd and 3rd place winners will also be eligable for prizes as follows:
1st place: Gladiator's Armor set and 1/2 of all influence put into the purse
2nd place: 8 Luck of the gambler: +7.5% Recharge speed IOs, and 1/4th of all influence put into the purse.
3rd place: 1/4th of all influence put into the purse.
All team mebers must be present at the time of awarding. In case of any disputes, the Invention Enhancements will be put up on the auction house, and influence gained will be divided equally.
Judges will be announced here, in Virtue TFs 2010, and in Broadcast in Atlas Park on the day of the race.
Good luck! -
IIRC, enemies get a 10% bonus to hit you for every level they are above you. Lieutenants get 5%, and I think it goes 5% more for every rank above, making AVs have roughly +20. So a +4 AV has about a 110% ToHit a level 50 hero. If you only have 45% Def ("Softcap") they'll still have a 65% chance to hit you- roughly the same chance an elite boss has to hit a same level hero.
More def is still effective, you just need that much more of it.
Most times, this means relying on your team. If you get to about 75% Def, you're doing OK for almost anything the game throws at you. -
Now you're just messing with me. PP not farming behemoths? What is this, Bizzarro forum?
-
Take Scirocco. You come off as being a chaotic goodguy. You have honor and loyalty, but you value freedom above safety.
-
which is why I stated that if I'm the only one speeding that I slow down
But if there's 2 or 3 of us speed capable? Oh yes. Big bag of crabs. -
I get this all the time, and not just in CoH. Check my L4D stats on Steam.
Ok, so I'm mostly saying that so you all bow down in awe of my 100% Accuracy/20% Headshot rate with the Uzi, but still.
Myself and @Beno play L4D with @Freedan and one of our buddies who is a wowhead so hard he gets paid for it. Now, @Beno and I will *Usually* be at least half the map ahead of the rest of the group. He does Pipe Bombs, I do Molotovs. Things work out nicely. @Freedan and my other friend, they don't like "Speed running". They love taking it nice and slow, searching every room. They whine at us that we're going too fast and getting them killed. We usually retort that they're slowing us down.
Same in CoH. If I'm on my DM/DA scrapper, he can solo almost anything. CAN solo anything if he's got nukes. Takes longer without a team. But if I have say, one or two people with me who know what they're doing? (Like a Fire/EM Blaster, or a decent Kin, or very good dark miasma or rad) then the mission is propably going to be complete before the rest of the team hits the third spawn.
If I'm the only one who'se outpacing the team, I slow down.
But if the team is mostly slowpokes, with a couple of us that are exceptionally well slotted or skilled, then they ARE slowing us down, and are better used to basically farm whatever is near the entrance for purp drop chances than trying to keep up.
I'm a busy guy. I work full time, I'm trying to get a second full time job so I can get out of debt and marry my fiancee. I play this game for fun in my free time. If I'm not having fun, or wasting my time, why am I here? -
There is no R in my name.
I had an avitar, it's gone now D:
'Lo Dumple. I'm imagining it's because that "Your forum ID/Pass is the same as your game ID/Pass" flag that goes up when you try to log in now. Mine wasn't either before, and it was bloody maddening trying to log in. So I stopped trying for almost a year apperently.
I don't eat ham anymore, but the toaster is fine :3
Thanks for the mints! -
D:
I missed out on trying the alpha slot *Cri*
Hope there's some Endgame going into GR. I'm pretty sure with the quality we got in CoV, there'll be mid game content going in. -
Aw. There goes a third of my sig
Thanks for the WB, GG. I'm not exactly familiar with you either, but that's OK.
For future refference, I'm Acanous. If it ever comes up, yes I'm THAT Acanous.
Although I'm not as infamous as certain others.
I got engaged. My girl luvs me. She even plays from time to time, @Ancat
Y'know, if she's ever on at the same time >.>
Rick's seen her once or twice I think.
Oh, and I also got the following names on Virtue reserved for GR:
Gerhardt Eisenstadt
Hero of the Imperium
Masamune
Malconvoker
I'm pretty proud of those. -
Niv still a mod? Or do I have to change my sig?
I'm aware of what happened with the game. Super Sidekicking and I don't get along well, but aside from going from a hardcore PVP player to an RPing hermit due to the PVP change.. well actually that's a pretty big change.
I miss status protection and Touch of Fear :/
I actually don't know who Avatea or TheOcho are.
I DID see the new trailer for GR. I'm hoping it's as awesome as I think it is.
No beta invite for me, big suprise, but hey! Bioware loves me.
So does their NDA so that's all I can say on that front.
<.< -
Hey Marcian! I got my forum account to work!
>.>
It took a year.
Ish.
Anyhow, What happened? It's like the place kersploded and now I missed all the interesting topics before they got locked D:
so lemme dust off my rusty forum skills and see if I can give y'all a link
Here -
Was playing a little while ago and noticed some of the /commands listed in-game no longer work (Such as /e warmup now being /e kata) and a great deal of slash commands aren't listed at all.
Is there a current list of slash commands, or do we need a new one? -
I still remember back in the day when you could 6-slot Snipe with Range/Damage Hamios and Boost Range. You had to use TWO PEOPLE assist-targetting in order to hit maximum range. Sniping from one end of PI to the other. Fun times there.
There's stuff you can't do now, and stuff you can do now that you couldn't then. Enjoy what you've got while you got it, I don't think we'll ever see 6-slotting 50% enhancements again, but IO's can come close. -
You sir, are a grade A Scoundrel.
-
well, you picked the right server for it. You should check the Virtue board's list of Supergroups and contact a RP-heavy SG's recruiter
