Quote:They have specifically stated that a hero can go all the way to being a villain, and vice versa.Oh. Now see, I don't recall if they said a hero could completely fall or if a villain could completely redeem themselves.
For what I remember reading it sounded like Rogue/Vigilante was as far as they could go. I hope they can do the complete role reversal, I'd be ever happier to just have a blaster start out in the Zig, or a Stalker start out in Outbreak. Without having to change sides.
Hero ATs have to start either in Paragon City (as a Hero) or in Praetoria (as a Praetorian, whose loyalty choices will make the character either Hero or Villain by level 20).
Villain ATs have to start either in the Rogue Isles (as a Villain) or in Praetoria. -
I encountered the second problem the other day (hello, 48 month vet here!), but only because I logged out in the exit and it's a rarely-used alt so I didn't REMEMBER logging out in the exit. LOL

It will be in a 'glowie' - usually a desk. It pulses with light, and makes a 'whommmm whommmm' sound. Click the glowie to 'find' the notebook.

...email the character's inf to self, to use on another character that isn't switching over yet.
I see this being much more likely, since it takes far less effort and the vast majority of players are incredibly lazy. (Including myself!) -
Quote:That's exactly how it works. No one knows the exact way it will work. All we know is a toon will be limited to one specific market. If you can access WW, you won't beable to access the BM.
Personally, I just hope that, a hero can have the option of going full redside, so they can access the BM. And vice versa...not just switch sides to do missions on the other side.
A Hero and a Vigilante (falling hero) access Wentworths. A Villain and a Rogue (redeeming villain) access Black Market. Once a Vigilante takes the last step to becoming a Villain, they lose access to Wentworths and begin using Black Market. Once a Rogue takes the last step to becoming a Hero, they lose access to Black Market and begin using Wentworths.
There is no news yet if Praetorians (characters who begin in the alternate dimension of Praetoria) have access to either market, or one of their own. -
You do realize that once they allow the purchase of one veteran reward, people with money burning holes in their pockets will demand the ability to purchase every other veteran reward? This is a perfect example of a 'slippery slope'.
-
Considering CoV only added four slots, it's pretty damn unlikely GR will add twelve. Maybe four. Probably none.
-
No. Veteran rewards are for sticking around, paying long-term for an account (money that NCsoft can rely on), not for plunking down ten bucks whenever you feel like it (money that is too changeable for NCsoft to rely on).

Remember, keep any inactive, old characters in the SG for the prestige bonus. Unless you plan on immediately bouncing above 15 members.

I think "Praetorian, Heroic, Villainous, Vigilante, or Rogue" works just fine. Vigilantes and Rogues are dual citizens.

Quotes one person and replies to a completely different person. The end result makes this poster look schizophrenic.

Quote:They also specifically said that you can bring items across from blue to red through the process, but that it would involve more than just flipping switches.I don't believe it was clear that characters who switch sides will be stripped of all possessions, which I think this email option makes pretty likely. Otherwise market arbitrage opportunities just became a heck of a lot easier (buy product X from the BM, send it to a character on the cusp of becoming a hero, move them across, sell it at WW, profit, send the money back via a character on the cusp of becoming a villain, repeat).
I can't find the interview/post that it was stated in, but I am pretty sure it was Positron. (Again, months ago.) -
UnSub, they have already specifically stated (not just indicated) that the markets are not merging. Heroes and Vigilantes can use Wentworths. Villains and Rogues can use Black Market. Neither pair can use the other. We've known this for several months now. No need for anything else to "cement" a fact that is already firmly in place.

Quote:a) Pure speculation, sure. But that is a gigaaaaaaaaaaantic leap. It's not that big of a stretch, if they can really hammer out that tricky "within game balance" bit.
Besides, a} pure speculation disclaimer and b} can you imagine the chaos if they announced the Incarnate archetype as an upcoming feature?
b) Incarnate is an origin, by game lore, not an archetype. -
Yeah, pretty much this. I think the OP totally didn't see the whole "Mission Architect improvements" heading above that line.
-
Huh. That doesn't make sense, isn't that what it (run as admin) is for? I'm still on WinXP, though, so no personal experience.

Ridicule based on current development of beloved hobby being in the hands of Paragon Studios. Side comment of the want to be banned from all current and future Cryptic Studios games. Nasty (obviously fake) rumor of dastardly doings in/at Cryptic Studios.

Quote:Sardonic reminder that devs don't moderate. Namecalling that just barely fits within the forum's guidelines.Reports post to dev, then cries about people neg-repping for honest opinions.
Amused mention of tags. Notes a specific tag that should be removed, claiming someone made a mistake. -

Quote:Accusation of padding post count. Tacit acknowledgment of padding personal post count.Double-post to complain about double-posting, with no apparent reason for not using a single post in the first place.
Edit to remove incredibly inflammatory remark that could get her kicked off the forums. -
Quote:Emphatic agreement on "that point" in quote, but does not indicate which point is actually "that point".OP expresses smug satisfaction that post is receiving commentary. Derisively dismisses all responses as misinterpretations of intent.
Notation that development community favors heroes over villains.
Link to screenshot of character with respectable accumulation of influence. Reminder that the market is broken. ANGRY REFERENCE to game-changing event colloquially referenced as squishy-toy produced by Hasbro! -
Angry message stating the mods should have locked this thread days ago! Somehow segues into blaming a few specific devs for various things that they have no control over.
Acknowledges previous comment about leaving thread, but insists on importance of current post.
