Quote:yeah, i have a lvl 47 mind/thermal, pretty decent...im not a great buffer tho, id prefer an aggressive buildThe downside to therms are the sheilds are not as great as they used to be (but allow for easy kb res slotting and +hp) - thaw roots..and I hate that..
Pluses are (as said) HE and Melt Armor - allows you to play a more aggressive toon than just a buffer or debuffer -
if you are looking hero side i would say mind/thermal - as stated sonic thermal or I would even put in rad therm corr for all that proc slotting and a great stun. -

You hijacked me! nah it's cool, info is info. But i did some tests last night an realized that i was only losing my base regen when in zone, and prior to i13 if i slotted for regen i was beastly, yeah i realize DR and all, but what if i was still able to accomplish a high lvl of regen and recharge...with pvp ios and purps it is fairly easy to have a ton of recharge with about 700% regen. i find that in my new non regen builds i have slots floating around

Quote:Great break down. Gonna either go Sonic/Em or Sonic/therm at this pointDamage - Psi/Em Sonic/Em
Support - Ill/Emp Sonic/Pain or Emp/Sonic. While Emp defenders have stronger heal mods, controllers can use power boost twice as often.
Disruption Fire/SS/Mace Elec/SS/Mace brutes, Grav/TA Ice/Cold Grav/Kin Grav/FF Controllers.
VEAT's play a specialized role in disrupting stalkers.
If you want to try and stalk. Elec/ WP, Regen or Nin can work.
I think Rad/Son/Psi can still be used decently well to set up a spike and defender TK is nice.
Sonic/Therm corr to me is one of the better hybrid toons in that Thaw is a great buff when dealing with a cold, the ST heal can help out if an emp calls out they happened to be caged during a spike. Melt Armor can aid in a spike as well as being on target to launch a few quick attacks, and HE can cause some disruption in some cases. -
Quote:>.< Well, ok...im thinking I either want to play a fire/em blaster or Sonic/em/ I really don't see either of those being touched but...w/eThese two clauses are mutually exclusive. If anything is good in this version of PvP it'll be nerfed.
Two other options for me are a dark/cold corr and mind/fire dom -
I need 1 hero or villain for arena pvp. All of my main toons are melee, so no melee. Suggestions? I need something top tier, and less likely to be nerfed. Elec/therm isn't really an option for me.

How much should my regeneration be? Right now I feel it is too much, 700% seems like overkill in pvp 2.0 but i really havent tested anything. Why should i not slot for regen?

If you are close enough to be droned you deserve it.

Quote:Sweet thanks, and what dude 0.o?Read this: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=206796
I think it is the dude who called me names for 15 min straight on vent cuz i disturbed their FC paradise. According to him, only viable ATs are tanks and scraps, everything else should be deleted. -
One other thing. I've never done a pvp league, someone explain?

What are your in-game Globals?: @AresSupreme @AresSupreme2
What characters do you have on Freedom?: 50 Spines/Regen scrap, 50 Bs/Regen scrap 50
MA/Regen scrap, 50 ** troller, 50 arch/mm blaster, 50 wp/ss tank , 47 mind/therm, 47 ice/rad, 42 sonic/cold corr, 40 fire/em, 40 storm/ice, 38 storm/dark, 34 grav/fire 32 psy/em, 32 psy/dev, 27 sonic/em 50 ** (2nd 1) 50 brute shield/elec 32 cold/sonic, 33 rad/sonic
Are you willing to respec into a PvP build?: Hell yes
Are you willing to roll a new character if needed?: Hell yes
Briefly describe your PvP experience: I used to play sirens a lot, mostly fiteclubbing and such, now I am almost exclusively RV/Arena, i play mainly scraps but I play them better than anyone else lol...well at least i play them really well but have broad experience blueside. -
lol...ive never seen this. I was expecting to see a scrapper spamming cinders lol. +1
-
I play a spines/regen and MA/regen scrap...kiting is not a problem on either one, but running is. Hard to smack a running target but easy to get them when they are "kiting" me with -75% range.

Quote:Yes, it's a fact, you can earn three respecs per character from doing Respec Trials. The Trial doesn't award a respec recipe - it just gives you a respec. In fact, of all the methods of gaining a respec, only the Respec Recipe drop uses the recipe system at all - the rest grant you a respec directly - either an 'earned' respec or a 'free' respec. The difference being that you can only have one 'free' respec banked at any one time, while you can stack up 'earned' respecs.
The wiki page, of course, goes over all this.
Yeah the recipe part was an accident but thanks all for the useful information. Was trying to get around paying 150 mill but o well. -
I understood everything else, just wasn't sure if the respec trial thing was a fact, i just have accepted it as fact for the past 3 years, I am aware of all the other ways of recieving respects. They just get costly. >.<

Quote:Never saw a DM/Elec, why the two together? To answer the original question...
Scrapper - Broadsword / Regen
Scrapper - Martial Arts / Regen
Scrapper - DarkMelee / Electric
Tank - Fire Aura / Super Strength / Earth
Tank - Electric Armour / Super Strength / Earth
Tank - Willpower / Super Strength
Any of these will be fun and do well in a melee duel, ofcourse it all comes down to build, slotting, IO's and above all... the player. -
Thanks for the reply but I should have been more specific lol. I meant, on a respec TF
-
Am I only able to receive a respec recipe 3 times, EVER?? per toon
-
I thought this was against EULA..if not, then more power to you. PVE is a joke. Hmm, you have fire and psy. I would go Sonic or Archery. But yeah, lol @ ppl that think you need to learn a toon before playing it. I PL myself from 1-50 on every single toon and can play this button masher just as good as the rest of you baddos. From Tfs to PvP. If you can't play this game then YOU sir, are todded'
