19 with some badge I forget the name of. My base has 19 storage. I'll see if I can track down the name of the sg badge...if I remember tomorrow, lol.

Really with this power could be modified. It's the most used power on a stone tank.

Hey, St0n3y,
I have an account on Titans, but I lost my username and password a while back. When I try to re-register, it says, of course, that my global is taken.
I've looked and I cannot find a Lost username or password feature there...what should I do?
I have about 10 emails (I own several businesses) and am not sure which one I used there. Is there a way to find out by my global? -
Yeah, I'd say that's a good feature. But lets be honest, once you get to 50, the exp no longer matters...and if you really enjoy your toon, Ouroboros is a great way to keep playing it.
Not to mention the Mission Merits you get from it. -
This past weekend, I was telling my SG that i16 would be going live on Tuesday. As I'm sure many of you can atest, we long-timers have a second sight when it comes to these things.
-
I was just thinking about how it's a shame Ouroboros does not offer ALL the missions we might miss out on.
Recently, I've started several toons that I literally get a couple levels on, turn off exp, complete all their contacts on, then turn on exp and repeat. It takes time to level that way, but I can't believe how much content I've missed.
On my first 50, I levelled him the long and slow way, actually taking a couple years (been playing since early beta). Even so, I missed about half the arcs in Ouroboros with him...even though I tried to get them all as he levelled. It wasn't untill Boros came out that I realized just how much I missed.
Since, I've completed most of them through Ouroboros (all except the bugged ones).
But when I started doing these other toons, taking my time, and realized how much Ouroboros even misses, I couldn't believe it. The sad thing is, a lot of those contacts have some pretty good arcs to them...I've actually found yet another source of joy in this game by doing things this way.
So, I was thinking...why doesn't Ouroboros offer all the contact missions?
It would be great if the devs added the arcs to the Ouroboros system. One thing I've noticed over-the-years is that the Devs tend to focus on a new project until it's implemented, then abandon it within a few months afterward (the exception being AE which had become damaging to the game until i16).
The Solution?
Each issue, the devs should make a commitment to also focus on improving a pre-existing feature of the game...an area that has needed adjustments for a while.
In my next tangeant, I'll go further into the idea and expand on it. For now though, I'd like your thoughts on the Ouroboros system and ways it can be improved.
What would you do to help improve Ouroboros? -
I'm me...and that's been enough since the very first closed beta. :P
-
Just got my first 50 villain. Unlocked the epic and made a soldier.
It didn't offer me the option of entering the tutorial.
Why is that?
I prefer to do it for the two inspirations it gives...selling them is how I get my beginning enhancements. -
Quote:Where is this reputation you speak of, are we talking forums or has something been added to the game?I know this is kind of an odd question, but how do you (generic) deal with people who give negative rep without signing their name?
Just today, for example, I had a positive reputation from someone who signed their name (thank you), and a negative reputation for THE EXACT SAME THING, with no name.
It bothers me because I feel like it's an attack I can't defend against.
How should I deal with it? Ignore it entirely? Change what they didn't like so I don't get further negative rep? Do what they suggest in hopes they will come back and give me positive rep? -
Quote:You don''t get it at all. Cryptic is counting on that too.Of course a game that just came out of beta is going to be full of bugs, why? beta's tend to be clossed for 1-2 reasons 1:less people you get a better idea of what the concess of the group feels is a necessity. 2: Less people to trow fits when something doesnt work like they think it should., Though in general anything that comes off a assembly line I.E. CO/War Hammer Online is going to be full of bugs people in the closed beta missed but thier lore and story will be better off in the long run if thier closed. As for not jumping in when a game comes stright from beta, thats a personal dessision that only you can make. Am i goin to jump in? yep cuse i wanna see where NCSoft takes it imo they did an amazing job makeing CoH but sicne thier leave the lore to the game seems to have been put on the back burner, and with CO useing a new engine itll be fun to play something new and shiny specially since the graphics in this game dont seem to be getting alot better. As for the mentioned cartoony look or comicy look. The devs over at CO said you could turn that feature off if you so liked.
With that said your wondering why im still here. Well cuse i dont play on turning CoH off till i find out if i will be enjoyin CO as much as i have enjoyed CoH.
Look, I have always been a diehard cryptic fan. I mean, I swore I would be switching over when the game came out. Then they let me in closed beta.
You're sitting there saying "of course it has bugs..."
But you're not listening to what people are saying. It's a BAD GAME. It's not the bugs that make it bad, I know bugs can be fixed (ahem, CoH devs), but the design of the game is horrible from start to finish.
Listen to wisdom. Do not spend your money until you get exposed to the game. A week in, and you will be disgusted. -
Quote:Playing since beta, the only set in stone release date I've heard of is the release of the game itself, lol.Well I've been playing this game pretty regularly since the beginning and I don't remember any "set-in-stone" fixed release dates for any Issue.
There might have been some "tentative" ballpark dates tossed out here or there and maybe that happened for Issue 5 in particular. But the Devs have never really been dumb enough to open themselves up for posting fixed dates for anything really.
As far as the "fellow idiots" who complained when expectations weren't met that's not just a situation this game has to deal with. That's been a general concern of software developers for decades. As a software engineer IRL I know it's always balancing act between meeting announced expectations and the realities of getting the job done.
As far as I can recall our Devs have always been mindful of these trade-offs. Silly people are going to be upset whether they understand what's going on or not. -
Quote:As I said above, CO is not a threat at all. People are talking about switching to it ingame atm, but most will not make it past the free month.Be warned....long rant coming:
I don't see why some people are getting all clamored about CO...I understand DCUO since DCUO is an actually franchise that has decades of fans, decades of possible story additions and decades of established material. CO is just a copy of a copy.
From what my friend tells me about the beta for CO, we have nothing to worry about that game is a hotter piece of poo than warm manure.
I personally do not like the cartoon comic book look, reminds me of color by the numbers for the blind. It is too reminiscent of WoW and w/o the WoW standards.
I saw an interview where good ol' statesman is mentioning all of the things that "This" superhero MMO would have, he makes comments bout how "This" MMO will have detailed character creation, where you can place blasts locations or any of that.
As for DCUO, their base premise is the fan base and physics object...I hate that term...Physics Object...everything in physics can be an object...stoopid DC, instead they should call it interactables...sounds better.
But yea, DCUO is going for previous decades worth of integrity and intractables. CO is going for customization that we already have a heavy foothold on and by stating that they are the first to offer such details is a joke seeing as it was Jack Emert himself that made so many problem from what I recall.
If NCSoft really feels like they are in trouble and have to rush issues to compete then they are personally looking at it from the wrong point of view. If they want to compete they must add more content and enough in-game events to keep the consumer base active. Going Rogue will be step in the right direction but in general, the Devs need to add more content, lore, stories. Giving us a few zone revamps, Fixing PvP in the future will help, adding new non-proliferated powersets.
In the long run, CoX has legitimate competition from DCUO and only for the large consumer pool of resources like movies, comics and a consumer base that is multi-demographical.
You're wrong about one thing though...CO has better customization of our characters at this point. I mean, you get to control everything on them pretty much, and there are about 5 times more costume piece options than CoH.
I have a 1 GB video card, set on high, and CO still looked like crap. Really. And for a more advanced game? It's the laggiest game I've ever played...and I have a pretty good system.
Targeting is crap too in CO...since the environment is destructable, tabbing doesn't just select opponents, it selects things like rocks on hte ground, streetlights and more. Very frustrating...especially when you have to use your mouse to select a target (auto targeting does the same thing as tab; you could get your intended target or a car) and your opponent is next to a piece of the environment.
You cannot set waypoints on the map at all, and well...everything about the game is crap except for the costume options...and they even LOOK like crap because of the poor graphics (which have higher requirements than CoH does, go figure). -
As a Beta Tester on CO, I gave up on the game after a week. Cryptic blew it big time. What could have provided competition turned out to be no better than The Superhero League of Hoboken dos game.

Quote:You might be fried, but its a good point.Yes, we've been asking for over 2 years now with an organized and concise listing. When Issue 13 was All your base belong to us, we were ecstatic.
At this point, I'm fried with debating and asking for stuff. Although I did come across my PMs with Sunstorm about the salvage capacities being drastically insufficient. An 8-man team still can't buff up with the empowerment stations because you can't hold enough salvage in the base to cover it.
Meh, did I mention I'm fried. -
Whatever is forming your floor that is against the wall. Nothing can be touching the wall where the door will be.

Quote:And what about the other members of the VG/SG? They contribute to building it, and suddenly the leader changes sides and takes what they helped to build?Quote:
than dont buy it, if your req to leave sg/vg to switch than do so. ITS A SWITCH. Lets view this from a RP view. hero turning villian or vil turning hero. its good vs. evil right? so im sure all my old hero buddies are now out to get me, not invite me over for cake and tea.
And lets not forget about PVP zones. Being able to stay in your sg/vg while switching sides will cause havoc.
for example......
Hero toon switchs sides to become a villian and stays in SG. if 1 sg member targets the other.Does he get targeted as a villian even though they are in same SG. Does pvp sg badges get affected?
Imagine a CoX scenario where some villan group is approached with the old "we need your support - the world's fate hangs in the balance" Being part of the world, you might go for it. (Dr. Doom falls for that one all the time, it seems.)
This may not be doable for all (or even most) SG/VGs. But it 's certainly doable for all the one- or two-people groups out there.
Not advocating for this. Just saying its not outside the realm of RP-ing.
You might say, "the leader helped build it too" but He/she is the one making the choice to switch sides. It would not be fair to the other members. I have about 130 stable members in my sg, I would be a total jerk to do it to them. -
Quote:The irony there is they DID upgrade the servers...yet they were a 100x more stable with the old ones.I can appreciate that, and I do understand. However, I am paying for a service. The excuse of "busy servers", just doesn't fly. Upgrade the product and service that I'm paying for. I don't want to whip out other MMO names, but I have played others that have never had issues as bad as COH.
It's just disappointing because I like the game so much. But if this continues I will take my money elsewhere. It's becoming aggravating. Why pay for something that aggravates you? -
Quote:Am I the only one concerned about the removal of the "Show all posts" option? As it is now, it's a pain to click through 4 pages of posts when you could just line them up before.
I miss it too. That was the best feature on the forums and they removed it. This really blows. -
Quote:THIS is better.I hate the new forums with a passion. The thing is hard to read. It looks horrible too.
Forums should not look like this, they should be nive and easy to read.
HATE THEM!!!
As a matter of fact, expect me to post less, simply because it now takes too much effort to read things here.
There's no going back, but the least they can do is change themes...or give us the option to choose a different theme.
If you go into the User CP and edit options, all the way at the bottom you can choose Hero or Villain skins. Hero is the default one, but switch it to villains and it's easier to read (white on red)
Still hate the new forums though :P -
Okay, it let me on now. Apparently everyone was having the same problem.

I can log onto any other server except Freedom. All servers are green.
This just plain SUCKS!
