Trapped in a donut shop with NO DONUTS.

If there is a hell, this is it.

Not necessarily. The Dunkin Donuts by me all have a Baskin Robins in them, too.

If we can get a Wi-Fi set up in one of them; we can trap Aett FOEVAH!
[/ QUOTE ]
The one I go to regularly has a Wi-Fi hotspot. Too bad only my work computer is a laptop. -
So, they should punish people on Freedom and Virtue just for being on a higher-populated server?
-
The problem is that this creates a place where the Vets have all leveled out of the newbie zones right off the bat. This leaves truly new players with no veteran players to learn from in the early levels.
-
So at 50 months I can just create a level 50 of whatever I want?
No. See Dark Age of Camelot for why. -

Has it devolved into a request for Carp Armor/Carp Melee yet?

Them: IOs will fix your endurance problems
You: Tell me, what IO causes you to not need Stamina?
Forums: It's not one IO, but IOs in general, that allow you to get better recovery/less endurance usage.
You: Okay, but what one IO is it?
It's NOT just one IO, but IOs in general, more specifically, the fact that sets allow you to slot for more endurance reduction than you might otherwise, and set bonuses over several sets can increase your endurance recovery. Combine this with the two uniques that raise recovery, and you can get better totals than with just Stamina. -
Hey everyone,
Sorry if this has been posted on before. I did a couple of searches, and didn't see anything (though my search-fu does suck, I will admit).
Basically, I was trying to buy DOs for a character yesterday using Tickets. Going to the vendor, I could get my character mostly outfitted. However, the contact does not sell Dual-Origin Hold enhancements. Does anybody know why this is?
Is it a known issue? -

If you did that, then it would be obvious that you were padding, the real trick is to pad but make it look natural.

I posted in the events forum about our second meet and greet. Sorry I haven't been playing much recently (especially on Champion), but life has gotten in the way a bit. However, I do have time, mostly while I'm at 'work' to plan another event if people would be interested.

what does it matter to you how someone else plays their game? you are not being forced into doing anything in the game. you have multiple options how to play your toons. seriously we don't need another " AE is the Devil" thread. this is the FoTM. it will die down. go play the game the way you want and stop trying to tell people how to play.
[/ QUOTE ]
It doesn't matter what an individual does as long as it doesn't infringe on the rights of over individuals. Since architect is removing a vast majority of the population of players into farms, increasing the price of salvage and will lead to people quitting the game further reducing the population of the game, then as a whole, architect is effecting other players.
[/ QUOTE ]
The MA isn't 'removing a vast majority of the population of players into farms.' The people farming now were the same people farming before the MA. They just had other ways of doing it. They can do it in a more condensed fashion now. The farmer population didn't grow, it just consolidated. -
And just for completeness' sake: 4 AM Perth time would make it 4 pm on the East Coast.

I don't know what you do, but 10pm isn't prime time in my or most of my friends' worlds...we're getting ready to kick off for the night, work or school or other obligations going in the morning and all. Prime time is 5pm-9 or 10pm, not much later than that.
[/ QUOTE ]
You live in a limited world then. The real Prime Time is 8 pm to 11 pm. That's why they call it Prime Time TV, friend.
So 10 pm IS prime time everywhere in the world.
[/ QUOTE ]
Please check your facts before you post. 10 pm is the very end of prime time in many places. Including the Central and Mountain time zones here in America. This is based off of the TV schedules, as seems to be your definition. Certainly, 8-11 EST is considered prime-time, but because of the time changes, this equates to a 7-10 CST prime-time schedule. So, 10 PM would be the end of their prime time.
In Japan, Golden Time is 7-10 PM. In Spain, it's later (but then, they also wake up later and their work day ends later).
Yes, "Prime Time" generally includes the 10 pm block. But that is also basing this off of the TV schedule definition, not the "most players playing the game" definition, which is usually the case when talking about the game. The game's Prime Time could be significantly different than TV's. And I'm betting that it is, especially on Fridays and Saturdays. -
For somebody so focused on being rude, you certainly don't pay any attention to the facts that have been presented, which, in its own way, is also rude.

The OP brings up a valid issue...one that should be addressed by the game.
[/ QUOTE ]
The OP does bring up a valid issue, but that DOES NOT MEAN that it should be addressed by the Devs. The Devs did datamining, and found the time slot when they do maintenance was the time period when the LEAST amount of people are playing the game. To change the maintenance time would therefore, on average, affect more people, no matter which direction you moved it. So, are you saying that the game should affect more people with maintenance down time?
[ QUOTE ]
There is no reason the maintenance times cannot be handled by their respective time zones and coastal regions.
East Coast servers can go down at different times than West Coast servers.
[/ QUOTE ]
Maybe at one time they could, but not any more. It is also MUCH easier to bring down all of the servers at once, patch them at the same time, and bring them back up together than it would be to bring them down in two groups.
The Market servers are cross-serve, though. So to bring down the servers in two groups could cause large problems with the markets. It's an issue that DOES NOT NEED to be caused, so why cause it?
[ QUOTE ]
To say the devs don't care about the Autrailian players is crap...and so close to racism you could spit on it.
[/ QUOTE ]
Not even close to racism. Australians are mostly of European decent, much like here in American. Now, it is a bit nationalistic, but that's not racist either.
The only way that it might come close to racism is if you use the UN definition of racial descrimination:
"the term "racial discrimination" shall mean any distinction, exclusion, restriction or preference based on race, colour, descent, or national or ethnic origin which has the purpose or effect of nullifying or impairing the recognition, enjoyment or exercise, on an equal footing, of human rights and fundamental freedoms in the political, economic, social, cultural or any other field of public life."
But even then, I think you'll be hard pressed to say that a game is a fundamental freedom or human right.
[ QUOTE ]
If they did not care, they would not have added european servers at all, chump.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, the name-calling is rude, so you might want to stop that if you want to be the champion of the anti-rudeness cause. However, that aside, they added European (and Asian) servers to better serve those markets, not because they care about the time zone issues. It also was dealing with language and social barriers that don't translate well in an MMO. I'm willing to bet that the decision to have European and Asian servers had almost no discussion about time zone issues.
[ QUOTE ]
I frankly think maintenance should happen from 4am to 6am in their time zone. That would seem to make hte most sense.
[/ QUOTE ]
Really? would it. Because if you take 4 am in Sydney, that would make it 2 PM here on the East Coast. I'm betting that you'll disrupt a whole lot more people playing at 2 PM here. -

Wouldn't a Toxic addition be added? or a dot since radiation is generally a length not an instant MELT? Just a thought...

Those are both already used by Spines/* and Fire/*, respectively, and I doubt a new set it going to have a secondary that already exists for the powerset type elsewhere.

-def exists in Katana and Broadsword. -

Is there something wrong with me because my first thought when I read Radiation Melee was of a 100 story tall giant radioactive lizard walking thru Steel Canyon while hundreds of civilians ran ahead of it screaming, "Godzilla!"

trip, this can be considered spam posting since there have been at least 10 of these type of posts in the last week or so. just pm a dev already with the idea. it's obvious that they aren't reading it here.
[/ QUOTE ]
This. But /signed to the OP anyways. -
Why do what you suggest, when there is a much more effective way of allowing people to stop the spam by themselves?
Your way means that the Devs (more likely the GMs) would need to be constantly updating the filter list for these sites. Farmsite.com can become f a r m s i t e . c o m and f.a.r.m.s.i.t.e.com and any number of other variables.
Allowing players to restrict who can e-mail them (by limiting it to Friends, SG mates, and/or global friends, etc.), the GMs and Devs don't need to spend a large chunk of time just keeping up with the spammers. -
[ QUOTE ]
The main value of things like kneejerk injunctions to use the search function, or parsing rules about dead topics, or arguing that a post doesn't belong HERE but rather THERE, is that is provides an important psychological boost to the users who are driven, by whatever issues, to try and assume an authority they do not in fact possess and to feel cool by trying to tell other users ow to behave.
[/ QUOTE ]
Swing and a miss. -
Also something to keep in mind:
We're not really against the same topic coming up over and over again. It's the people who post on the same topic without doing any research into it whatsoever.
Take the following as examples:
Topic A gets the following 3 posts:
I want feature X!
I want feature X!
I want feature X!
No matter what the replies are to those three threads, the same ill-informed posts keep getting put up there.
Now, let's go to Topic B:
I want feature Y!
I want feature Y!
I want feature Y! And I understand some of the arguments against feature Y being implemented. I will go into each argument against, and try to posit my own responses to those, and try to make my case for why feature Y should be put into the game as long as some of these arguments have been abated.
Do you see how the search feature might lead to more of the second case here? It allows people to increase their knowledge of a subject so that they can better prepare their idea. Maybe they can even find ways to mitigate past criticisms of a similar idea.
THAT is what the search feature should be used for. To better educate yourself on the subject BEFORE posting.
