Yes, I think it's all good that we wish Spade a Happy Birthday before Ghost Widow beats the tar out of him. It would be that much harder for him to appreciate if we waited until he was in the hospital in a coma. Best to do it now while he still has the ability to enjoy it.

Added to favorites. I'm also curious if you will be posting your Micro Heroes there as well?

Heres an update from her DA page. This time she is using marker pencils for the coloring which comes out much better IMO!
Also if ya wanna get something from her just send her a note from the DA site or post on heropening page and she would love to have some practice I am sure, just ask her first as I am not really sure where shes at on these things.

That's a good suggestion. My sister has a decent digital camera as well. I'll have to ask her about that when I go to scan in my smaller pictures.
As for newer art, I've been thinking of putting all my creations down in artform using templates so that I can focus on the designs, and not worry about getting the art right. Then I can take my time and relax when drawing, as I'll just bedrawing to draw, not to get an idea down. With enough time and practice I will get better. As for commissions? I think I will practice with a few of the characters that people have displayed here, and then suprise people by posting them. After I feel confident enough I think I will take a few commissions (for free of course). Eventually I hope I can become skilled enough that I can actually charge for commissions (and believe me, I could use the extra income). -
A TV tray would make it even lower than my already too low desk. Being 6'2" kind of sucks sometimes as everything is made too small for me. Than again, I think the desk I bought would be too small for most people. It was all I could afford at the time though.
-
At this point I am wondering if I should even bother updating my devaintART page with new scans. I think I will update it one more time, and if interest remains the same, then it will be the final update and the last you will hear from me on it.
-
Would it be possible to provide the links, or perhaps email them to me? My search-fu sucks, and so it would be wonderful to aquire some templates without aquiring a migraine headache from my poor search-fu. If you can I would very much aprreciate it. If you can't, well I don't want to be pushy, so I'll just have to find another way.

Size does matter. Even with just wrist drawing, my hands are too large for just the 4x5 tablets. I could try a 6x8, but that might still feel too small. It's too bad that the larger tablets are so incredibly expensive. I'd have to buy a much larger desk too if I ever got a larger tablet. My desk is also too small.
-
Where did you get all these templates? I've been looking for some to help me get some of my character concepts down on print.
-
Nice. Must be costing you a pretty penny though. Wish I could afford to get stuff like this done at the momment. Well, at least I know some day I will be able to.

Judging by the lack of interest in this, if there are no other posts in this thread by December 30th, then I will shut down this contest.

Don't contests usually have prizes?

Sometimes it's just a competition. Which is sometimes good enough.
If you can get a larger(preferably about 4x, and not too compressed-- PNG format might help) version of the image, I'll take a swipe at it.

Ok, I'll have a go at the original and try and come up with a larger image for everyone to use for the coloring contest. If the original inking job is still too poor in quality I may have to ask someone here to redo the inks. I could try and ask my frind in town here to re-ink it, but he'll more than likely make me pay a lot of money for it. I could also try inking it myself, but then I wouldn't expect to see it ready in time for everyone to meet the contest deadline. -
It's nice to see such great friendships.

Do I have anything that anyone would want? -
Ok, I was looking at my deviantART webpage and while I was looking at the image of Legacy I stumbled across this idea. I want to see what people can come up with for colors for this character. I plan on doing some digital colors for him myself, but I don't plan on telling or showing anyone his color scheme until I am done. I'd like to see what the people here can come up with. So from there I thought I'd make a contest out of it.
Color him to the best of your ability, and pick the color scheme you think would best suit him. What are his abilities? Well, he is a mental juggernaut with abilities along the lines of Cable from the X-Men. A psychokinetic powerhouse who abilties are only limited by his imagination. Well, to an extent. I think his overall power level would be equivalent to Cable while he's infected with the Legacy virus. Maybe a tad bit more. But no where near Cable as X-Man. At any rate, he tends to use these abilities to augment his own inherant strengths. Other abilites may include any of the feats seen in games like Psi-Ops or Second Sight, though he tends to use these abilities less frequently. In the end this makes him appear to be a sort of a Superman character to those who don't know the source of his powers.
Anyway, I set the contest deadline for January 15th, 2007. The original uncolored artwork can be found here. Goodluck! -
I'm dying to try it out myself. I need to read up on it more. I have several guides and sites linked to already. I downloaded a demo viewer and an editor, but have yet to install them. This might be handy for being able to take screenshots of all my characters. I also want to put some of the stories I have in my mind into action for others to see.
I want to put Orbital Hammer vs. Inferno Hammer. Wintermauler vs. Reptilectric. D'Kujinni vs. D'Thelatek. Uh... I might have to look at my list for some more of the battle scenarios I have in mind. Too bad that it's at home at this momment and not with me.
I wonder if I might find this to be a good outlet for my creativity while I try and get back into the swing of things with my artwork. In the meantime, I was hoping for more feedback concerning my art, but it seems that no one is all that interested. Maybe I'll have better luck with my machinima. -
Ok, the family grabbed me sooner than expected. I'm actually over here at the family's right now on this cheery Christmas Eve. I might as well get my scans done while I'm here (I brought my artwork again) so expect to see more soon. Several of the picture you may have to wait longer to see however as they are too large for the scanner here. I'll have to take them to this place downtown that has a large enough scanner. I'll probably rescan those other two images that were too large to scan in one go. This may be a while in coming though, as I'll have to wait until my next pension check, or my GST check (whichever comes first). I was going to get a commission from Dual Mask and order 2 City of Heroes Hero Kits, but my shopping for food and other household items came to a lot more than expected. I found out I was short on quite a few things in the cupboards compared to usual. So it looks like January sometime for the large scans, the commissioned artwork and the Hero Kits. After all this collecting of gloves and boots for all my characters that want them I think I'm also going to try my hand at demo editting and see if I can create a few fun little City of Heroes/Villains machinima.

I've seen Marvel color Cap in blues close to cyan before as well. Sometimes he gets colored in a pale blue like jeans. Sometimes he gets a very blue blue. I've never seen him in anything close to navy blue though.
Spiderman is usually colored in a dark blue, but with lots of black shadow. This goes back to when they had a limited palette of colors to work with. With modern computer coloring, I'd like to see Spidey done up with dark blues that don't look black. On a side note, Spiderman was originally red and black (not blue), but because blacks often used dark blue as highlight, just as dark blues used black as shadows, the two were often confused. -

well done! very vibrant colors...me likey, me likey a lot!.
critiquewise? caps may need to be a bit more 'blue' than aqua...minor but the only real think that jumped out at me.~

I don't know. I kind of liked Cap's colors like that.
