Art Scans
Not bad at all!!
Those are good. I like the Enigma drawing, and Legacy's got a cool costume.
Update: I've updated my deviantART page as well with all my art scans. This should make it easier for others to link to any indivudual image specifically.

Thanks. It's been a while since I've drawn, but I'm hoping to get right back into it. Especially with all my new ideas!

I didn't draw Legacy, so much as I traced his costume onto some artwork from a comic I used to have (before the basement flood several years back when I lost almost all of my comics). Still, the costume design is mine.
Enigma is a curious character. She is two females who became merged into one body. She is somewhat clumsy as a result as neither mind/personality has complete control. They have the ability to redirect the flow of lifeforce. They can drain life, give life, or transfer life between two or more individuals. I guess in City of Heroes terms that would make her a Kinetics user. She comes from a hero group I created that has as it's members a bunch of superpowered misfits. hardly any of them have full control of their abilities, and so this can create some interesting scenarios.
Wow, Persona. I know you were a bit worried about showcasing your work but I don't think you need to be.
I look forward to seeing what you draw in the near future.

Well, I've been stuck recently as far as my art is concerned. I'm a bit rusty and have a bit of a creative block. I can still come up with ideas and all, but the problem comes when trying to get them back down on paper. Some of it I think is low self-esteem with regards to my skills (I really need to brush up on my understanding of anatomy), some of it is my perfectionist nature, and while I'm usually very patient about things getting better at my art isn't one of them. Throw into the mix a new graphics tablet that is a few sizes too small and I still have to adjust to it's use and things get a little more awkward for me. I think the encouragement I've been getting from the forums here has been helping so far. I hope with all of your help that I'll be back to drawing in no time at all.
Wow!! Spectrum is BY FAR my fav. That costume and pose is just SO COOL! Just wow

I still have so much more stuff to scan. For some of it I'll need a really big scanner. Especially my first attempt at airbrushing (which I never did get to finish).
Just an update. I'm not sure when I'll be scanning more artwork. I may try to get some scanned Christmas Day as I will probably be over at the family's. The rest of the month I'll be too busy trying to grab the Winter event gloves and boots for about 17 more of my characters. I hope I have enough time, especially considering it's getting harder to find teams to take down Snaptooth.
14 characters left to get gloves and boots for, but since I'm going over to the family's for Christmas Day anyway, I plan on getting a few more items scanned at that time. Also, I'm hoping that I can get more work done on my Tarot card for that group project.
In the meantime it would be nice to see a few more comments on my art. Constructive criticism and/or encouragement would be appreciated. Although I do sort of know already that my anatomy does need work. A lot of work.
Ok, the family grabbed me sooner than expected. I'm actually over here at the family's right now on this cheery Christmas Eve. I might as well get my scans done while I'm here (I brought my artwork again) so expect to see more soon. Several of the picture you may have to wait longer to see however as they are too large for the scanner here. I'll have to take them to this place downtown that has a large enough scanner. I'll probably rescan those other two images that were too large to scan in one go. This may be a while in coming though, as I'll have to wait until my next pension check, or my GST check (whichever comes first). I was going to get a commission from Dual Mask and order 2 City of Heroes Hero Kits, but my shopping for food and other household items came to a lot more than expected. I found out I was short on quite a few things in the cupboards compared to usual. So it looks like January sometime for the large scans, the commissioned artwork and the Hero Kits. After all this collecting of gloves and boots for all my characters that want them I think I'm also going to try my hand at demo editting and see if I can create a few fun little City of Heroes/Villains machinima.

Ooh...I cant wait! I always love demo edits!
I'm dying to try it out myself. I need to read up on it more. I have several guides and sites linked to already. I downloaded a demo viewer and an editor, but have yet to install them. This might be handy for being able to take screenshots of all my characters. I also want to put some of the stories I have in my mind into action for others to see.
I want to put Orbital Hammer vs. Inferno Hammer. Wintermauler vs. Reptilectric. D'Kujinni vs. D'Thelatek. Uh... I might have to look at my list for some more of the battle scenarios I have in mind. Too bad that it's at home at this momment and not with me.
I wonder if I might find this to be a good outlet for my creativity while I try and get back into the swing of things with my artwork. In the meantime, I was hoping for more feedback concerning my art, but it seems that no one is all that interested. Maybe I'll have better luck with my machinima.
At this point I am wondering if I should even bother updating my devaintART page with new scans. I think I will update it one more time, and if interest remains the same, then it will be the final update and the last you will hear from me on it.

Just checked out your DA page and you have some nice stuff. Not sure what kind of feedback you're really looking for though :/ If you take requests I'd request Djeannie
As to scanning. If you have really large art you can always take a high quality digital photograph of it instead of scanning it in, then just crop to taste. I used to work in an art studio some 6 odd years ago and that's what we would do with our paintings but we'd take real photos then scan in the photographs at high resolution and reduce as needed. Digital would just remove one of the steps and cost of film.

That's a good suggestion. My sister has a decent digital camera as well. I'll have to ask her about that when I go to scan in my smaller pictures.
As for newer art, I've been thinking of putting all my creations down in artform using templates so that I can focus on the designs, and not worry about getting the art right. Then I can take my time and relax when drawing, as I'll just bedrawing to draw, not to get an idea down. With enough time and practice I will get better. As for commissions? I think I will practice with a few of the characters that people have displayed here, and then suprise people by posting them. After I feel confident enough I think I will take a few commissions (for free of course). Eventually I hope I can become skilled enough that I can actually charge for commissions (and believe me, I could use the extra income).

Heh I hear you about the income thing. Been recovering from surgery myself for the last few months and have been rather jobless for the last few years due to the aforementioned medical issue.
Using the templates to give you a basis for getting an idea down and not getting hung up on anatomy is a really good idea.

Another update, finally. I have them all posted on my Live Space, but deviantART is giving me a few problems while trying to upload. I'll have them all up as soon as possible.
Ok. Problem solved. Everything is uploaded. Feel free to ask me anything about the characters I designed.
Due to the lack of interest I will not be updating this thread any further.
I've been looking at your scans on dA, and they're really good! Don't give up because no one comments, doesn't mean they don't like it.
Ok, I finally got around to scanning some of my artwork and then copying it to disk. I got it home last night and this morning I editted it into a more viewer friendly format (the original files were huge). I've currently got it posted in My Live Space for everyone to view, but have yet to upload them to my deviantART page. I may get to that later today if I have time. It depends on how long it takes me to do my grocery shopping today, and how many characters I can get my Santa gloves and goots for. Have a look and tell me what you think. Feel free to give my artwork a critiquing, so long as it's constructive.
