    Epic Question

It does buff some debuffs, Jirou. It buffs tohitt and def debuffs, but not damres debuffs.
  2. [ QUOTE ]
    Archery
    Snap Shot 37.8 Damage
    Aimed Shot 55.6 Damage
    Fistful of Arrows 50.6 Damage
    Blazing Arrow 145.2 Damage
    Explosive Arrow 50.1 Damage
    Ranged Shot 153.5 Damage
    Rain Of Arrows 150.1 Damage

    Assault Rifle
    Burst 60.1 Damage
    Slug 91.2 Damage
    Buckshot 50.6 Damage
    M30 Grenade 50.1 Damage
    Sniper Rifle 153.6 Damage
    Flamethrower 106.8 Damage
    Ignite 111.2 Damage
    Full Auto 156.9 Damage

Please explain how exactly Archery does more damage?

    [/ QUOTE ]
For AoE, Archery beats AR IMO because of the animations, and it does enough in its 3 AoEs to wipe a mob out, in good time too.

Sorry, where's AR's Blazing Arrow for ST damage? All I see is a snipe. Aimed shot cycles very nicely too.

*EDIT* Oh yes, and aim, sweet aim. For burst, factor that in.
    Archery
    Snap Shot 61.4 Damage
    Aimed Shot 90.35 Damage
    Fistful of Arrows 82.2 Damage
    Blazing Arrow 236 Damage
    Explosive Arrow 81.4 Damage
    Ranged Shot 249.4 Damage
    Rain Of Arrows 243.75 Damage

    Oooooh lovely.
  3. Archery, definately. It's full of nice damage powers, and you really can build it the way you want to. You can skimp a bit on Archery powers to no harm, as long as you have blazing arrow, one of the smaller shots and Rain of Arrows (Of course) you're fine, the rest are just nice extras. So you could emphasize your devices side if you wanted, and go for pools to help it. (Like TP foe, hasten, that kind of stuff).

Not sure what the verdict on Stamina is for Arch/dev...

Anyway, AR is meh compared to archery. Archery trumps it for damage IMO, and has better anims.

    Must we herd?

And can you imagine a tank trying to tell everyone to "back off while he herd" during a rikti ship raid?

I can imagine a tank trying, yes

Why on earth would I have taken permafrost?

My current build (although not all slots are filled with the correct IO's yet) is here.

To slot a Steadfast Protection resistance/defense IO.

    Hoarfrost.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    lol nub

EDIT: Granted you can get the numbers you want in Hoarfrost with just 5 slots leaving the 6th for the Steadfast I'd personally rather slot a set in there. In my case Doctored Wounds for the extra 5% recharge.

EDIT v. 2.0: Seems I'm the nub. Didnt bother to check the build.

    lol nub

  7. But Stealth And invis have their defence halved when you attack/are attacked.

But of course, attacking from stealth is always a good "Defence", in the sense that you control the start of the fight.
  8. Gratz on your first big 5-0!

    Stalkers

    [ QUOTE ]
very different from the Corruptor & Brute Superteams, glad that everyone knew what to do

    [/ QUOTE ]
Pinky, are you pondering what I'm pondering?

Wonder what a Stalker and Dom Superteam would be like?
  10. 1.No, -res is unenhanceable.
    2.Yes, both angle and debth
3.Not sure, but -res contributes beyond the cap.
  11. You dont have to have different sets to be a different controller. I'm having fun with a stealth based build (With phase!) On my fire/kin controller on test. Quite fun, I've also wanted to try a mind/ controller with perma-fly and concealment pool, seems more ghosty than illusion.
  12. Regen is best IMO, but the main con is the level 16 armour, an essential, glows bright green, as do most powers

    When I Tank.

    [ QUOTE ]
ive just made a ice/fire tank and cant wait till i can tank instead of scrank

    [/ QUOTE ]
Heh, I've made one too, and I've been tanking since 4

Ice is adept at low level tanking, and I've found that I can do some good AoE damage, too.

I just need Stamina and SOs now, to sort out end troubles

I may not have been a tank for as long as many people here, but made my way to lvl 44 so far. its not psionics that worry me about invulnerability, with manoevers and hover and other general defencive powers. but its the strength of the more common resistances, like Energy, i find myself a lot more squishy to enrgy attacks from rikti rones than i do to mesmerists. i could easily tank psychic clockwork, with heavy taunting. but put me against a mob of 6 or 7 drones and i'll yelling out for spam healing in seconds.

i agree it needs to be changed. it just doesnt seem like a tanker power any more, but is more suuited to scrappers. when teambuilding and i'm looking for a tanker. i think everyone knows what to choose...

    [/ QUOTE ]
The problem with drones is high acc.
  17. [ QUOTE ]
    Not gimped?

No hasten, recharge in general has gone down the drain so DPS=low

    [/ QUOTE ]
I'm fine without hasten on on my normal build. The recharge times on powers are better than what I have at the moment.

    [ QUOTE ]
The accuracy well is average, no tactics no FA so the first to hit debuff send you to hell and back

    [/ QUOTE ]
    *Points at 30% acc buff*

    [ QUOTE ]
Maneuvers and CJ no LoTG recharges to at least bring up the recharge.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Hmm, guess I forgot that, definitely will put LoTGs in.

    [ QUOTE ]
    Build up no HO's in?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Doesn't seem too worth it for PvE.

    [ QUOTE ]
700% regen by giving up all this is kinda not worth it imho

It's possible to make 620% regen with perma DP,insane recharge of powers for attack cycles as well as much higher to hit and an IH downtime of 90 sec barely reconstruction 18 sec downtime and so on.

    [/ QUOTE ]
700% regen is no-where near the highlight of this build. Did the 25% def slip by you? That will halve all incoming damage. 25% res will then quarter what does make it though.

    [ QUOTE ]
That's not a build i would use imho because :

    1)No recharge

    2)Low acc relatively

3)TOO expensive for what it gives.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I don't see where you get the low acc thing from, and the recharges of powers look okay to me. Expense, well, it's not a build I'm gunna go for all at once to say the least.

    [ QUOTE ]
EDIT: Weave is like pretty useless especially in non defense based sets unless opting for recharge insanity which obviously u aint.

Imho going for defense in a regen based toon is madness all together. You can do far better things by exploiting the good points of regen which is...REGEN and not defense.

Go all the way recharge and perma Dull Pain to acquire immortal status and then just add to that really low Reconstruction cycles and IH recharge. Topping it with good regen defense goes out the window cause nothing really can drop you PvE wise except Hamidon.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Excuse me for making an individual defensive build that would work! Listen, one of the main weaknesses, or should I say "Differences", between regen, and defence and resistance, is that regen (And healing) only mitigates a set amount. Which is the amount you regen. Once you get over that, then that's all regen does for you. Defence and resistance are different. Whereas for regen you would subtract your regen per second from your incoming dps to get the total incoming damage, with defence you just divide. So having 25% defence would halve the incoming damage, no matter how much was coming in. Same for 50% res.
Basically, having res/def on top of regen increases the amount of handle, and increases the amount of damage per sec that needs to be thrown at me to overcome my regeneration rate.
Of course, that's just for ranged and AoE! For melee I have DA, which can put me at the def cap when I stack it (Which I do). The 25% def is 5% away from what an SR has with their entire secondary, and mitigates the equivilant of 50% res. Just to put it in context.

    WOO for being different build!

    EDIT:[ QUOTE ]
    Not gimped?

    [/ QUOTE ]
I meant making power sacrifices, or one slotting a power that should be six slotted, or skipping a travel power or somesuch thing.
  18. Okay, this is a build I'm gunna work towards with my Katana/Regen scrapper, probably a respec build for 50.

    700% Regen
    25% s/l res
Capped melee def when I want it from DA, 25% to ranged and AoE.

Looks survivable, and isn't gimped in any way as far as I can see.

You don't have to SB straight away you know. It's fine to wait till the end of a mob, they shouldn't take too long if you're a kin anyway!

    No lie.
