Hey matey, I made one of these the other day, but doubt I'll play it for a while. Some of the lessons I've learned from having a /kin (from my corruptor) are as follows (in no particular order);

For an offensive toon (which we know fire control is) I find SB a right royal PITA. Your target is nearly always foes but then in the heat of battle 5 ppl at once shout "SB MEH!" either you switch to friendly targets and risk not firing off your flashfire or risk getting anoyed by their ever increasing demands. Slotting wise, if you're really gonna spam it out you want EndMod in it and resign your heroics to a buffer.

Both fire control and Kinetics need heaps of tohit, nearly all the good stuff just HAS to hit 95% of the time to become 'da man' in PvE.

Inertial Reduction is fun in itself but of no real benefit, I went without a travel power (relying on temps and IR) which helped me thru the lower levels but getting it after your travel power might be a waste of a power.

FS has one too many acc slots in.


In general I'd suggest a revamp with a respec (if you have one kicking about) which could include;

Getting rid of fly and use SJ with the opportunity of Acrobatics later on. Does a fire trolley not do enough damage that they need Air sup?

Lose IR and fire shield (afterall you're gonna have them all tied up and dancing with monkeys to be hit ) And get tactic in there early.

Use respecs with a /kin often, once you have transferance some of your slotting won't be optimal anymore.

Cinders is a great backup for when your flashfire doesn't recharge in time from one group to the next. Slot it and slot it well, IMO this power needs 6 slots, in old money 2 acc, 2rech & 2hold.

Decide what kind of /kin you're gonna be with respect to SB, don't let it spoil (like it has me) what is an excellent powerset.

You don't have to SB straight away you know. It's fine to wait till the end of a mob, they shouldn't take too long if you're a kin anyway!

Y'know, you don't have to SB the entire team at once - you can SB a few, fire off Flashfire and then SB the rest. It's not like SBing a team means you can't do anything else until everyone has SB...

well i have pinged 28 an i agree IR is poo and needless(lucky i got that respec on monday).. Guffy you know me i have to have fly on a troller because Air sup is a good damage dealer when used with containment.. i use it on the bosses.. maybe i'll spec it out after 32. as for KB at the moment i don't have many problems but as i go up in lvls i can see the need for it!! maybe i should respec once i have imps.... i'll have another play when i get home

I don't understand why people think IR is poo, especially now with IOs. A travel power with no prerequisites, you can slot a stealth IO in it, unsuppressed in PvP, you can use it on team-mates with no vertical movement, etc. I might still take CJ for the immob protection (important for kins), but wouldn't bother with SJ/Acro unless you want to PvP (just use -kback IOs). Air Sup is nice in low levels, but after Imps, you will basically never need it (Flashfire + Fire cages + Hot Feet + Imps). And with a couple of siphon speeds, Hover gives you decent speed if you really want to fly. I would certainly take Hasten, but likewise, would only bother with SS if you PvP.

Going for FARMING tough is a really good choice.

Rest of your build looks pretty ok

Stone mastery is OK if you plan to make a fire/kin with no IO sets. A fully IO'ed build takes more advantage of fire or psi mastery (for magic salvage farming rather than fast cash farming).

So boils down what kind of farming you going to do. Powerfarmign influence in family/1st dimension mission ---&gt;fire psi is what you looking at

Going for magic salvage ----&gt; Psi mastery prolly.

Seriously....No. IR poo? Unsupressed movement and allows you to skip all kinds of travel powers and prerequisites making a fire/kin even more diverse in PvE. IR is godlike for PvE kinetic builds.

and air sup in a fire/kin for good damage? You will regret it forever for having air sup after level 32
