I cried once I finshed the villain side arc: Oh, Wretched Man. I found it very well written and it pulled me into everything so much that I felt emotion for what happened within the arc.
And like its already been said: People cry while reading books, watching TV shows, watching movies, and even while playing video games if the story line is written well enough. -
I team with a lady once who said she was mid 60's. This was a couple of years ago, though.

Quote:Yes, definitely report. The first time I reported a group of very obvious infl sellers, I got a thank you e-mail. The e-mail also told me to report anymore that I come across. How did I know these people were RMTers? You can actually identify an inf farmer in-game pretty easily. Their name will be some combination of gibberish letters ("Gkhygenion" is a random example) with a random costume. They'll probably be a Fire/Kin Controller, or a Fire/Fire Blaster is another combination I've seen. They also tend to travel in packs.
A question I have to ask: would there be any purpose in reporting these people? Technically you have no way of knowing that they're doing anything wrong, but they're pretty obviously working for inf selling companies.
1. An 8 man team of fire/kins and all of them had gibberish for names, hanging around one of the portals inside portal corp
2. All of them had only one or two badges, and one was the top influence earning badge.
3. They would not respond to tells or local chat.
All of that combined SCREAMS RMT providers/sellers. I report groups like that every time I see em. -
Quote:1. I have 2 accounts and 235 toons. Some of them have not been touched since SSKing has come about. Many of their search comments are 'My lvl and up please'. Sometimes I log in for a quick mission and then log. Besides, some people, even with SSK, may not want to exemp down."Teams my level or higher" (with supersidekicking, whodoyouthinkyou'refooling?)
"not interested in teaming" (then why aren't you flagged as 'no teaming'?)
"SG ONLY" (why?)
Discuss/add.
2. Sometimes the flag unsets itself. I've experienced it quite a few times. And sometimes you don't even know its happened.
3. Why not? Perhaps some people have been soured by PuGs and prefer to stick with people that they know and are used to. I usually only play with people I know, and it works just fine for me. -
The most important information would be what server you're on.

This sounds very questionable to me. If you have been playing for 51 months, then why don't you know how slow it can get in the 30's to lvl up? Why don't you know what zone your character should be in by that point? I have been playing 42 months, rarely (if ever) touch CoV, and even I know where to go by lvl 37.
You honestly sound like a newbie, who has used AE from the start of things.
And like others have asked: Why the run to 50? There's nothing special waiting there. This game is all about making alts.
EDIT - The I17 thing is closed beta. Unless you get a beta invite, you will not be allowed to login to the test server at all. -
Hami's are dead? Come to Justice. We do Hamis 5 - 6 times a week. They take an hour, sometimes a little less than.

Quote:It takes all of 30 seconds to send a tell to a channel mod and ask to be unsilenced.I tried those ones a week or so ago. Neither allowed for posting from me, despite being publically joinable. :/ Rather discouraging and is why I moved the two characters I cared about over to Freedom and deleted the rest... [haven't had that problem on any of the Freedom-related channels I tried out]

Go to Justice and join the global channels - Justice United and JFA2010. There is NEVER a shortage of people to team with no matter what time you're on. I see TF's run as early as 7 in the morning, and I see them started as late as midnight. That server is constantly hopping.
The reason you don't see a lot of people on the streets, is becaused of instanced missions. People just don't have to be outside, so they arent. -
^ And you didn't have to jump down their throats. They made a comment. They didn't whine or act all elitist entitlement. Calm down.

My Kin/Elec is awesome, and she has no trouble draining EB's of their endurance. The same can be said for my triple electric blaster.
Sounds like you aren't slotting correctly. -
Quote:I'd love to see proof. You cannot go from 1 - 20 in 3 hours solo, even set for an 8 man team, in 3 hours.I like 1 to 20 for the first 5 or 6 times through it, after that I pl my alts because A) It gets old fast and B) No stamina = endless grind and C) hate hitting rest.
YES I KNOW I WILL BE DISAPPOINTED!
I am holding on to hope that this expansion will NOT just be 1 to 20...
Takes me under 3 hours to play through those levels solo... 3 hours.
My husband and i made new alts a week ago and played them for about 8 hours straight. We were actually on a decent team of 5, and we were set to 8. I think we cracked lvl 16 in just under 8 hours.
There is no way to go from 1 - 20 in 3 hours solo. And I see I am not the only one to think you're more then a little full of it. Then again...look at your reputation. -
Same. I set all my details to minimum and even when I wasn't held, I couldn't move or use any attacks. I basically stood there and/or died for the entire time. No, my PC isn't an old thing. I've never had this sort of trouble before... The lag was horrendous. And when almost everything was spawning at a lvl 54... Ow.
It wasn't any fun for me, I'm afraid. -
That explains why. I don't frequant the forums much at all, and my home is Justice. I would never have a reason to look on the Champion page. Thanks for the response.

I just logged into villains over on Champion server. As soon as I load in, I receie an admin message in every single one of my tabs. I got, in red text:
[Admin] Carnie Ava: teh location of our party!
I asked in all of the global chat channels I am a part of, and no one else received anything like that. My husband logged in thinking that maybe it was something that was beginning to happen to just logged in toons. Nope, nothing.
It seems like (but I doubt it) that I was the only one in game to get this message. If anyone else saw it, any clue to what it's about? -
Quote:Not true. Before the cape mission was redone, I took my lvl 40 something to the city rep to get my aura mission. I got 2 options:This has always been the case. You've always had to do the cape mission before the aura mission.
Earn a cape, and underneath it said: Get better control of your powers, which is obviously the aura mission. I never had to do the cape mission before my aura. I never have until the cape mission was redone. -
I use frontpage, add tables and list who is on what server, their AT and power sets, influ, and lvl. Beyond that, I do nothing, and I mainly did the above out of boredom one day. I have never seen the need to spend hours off the game, doing game related tracking stuff.

You never know what might be going on with that player. Always is best to give them the benifit of the doubt. If they are still for a minute or two, I send a tell asking if they're okay, or what's goin' on. Sometimes that actually makes them move, and it makes me watch them a little bit closer than I was before.
I was on a TF not long ago, and someone, likely a young teen, was constantly leaving the TF, coming back, going AFk through all the missions...etc. At one point, they stopped responding and we waited 10 minutes on them to exit a mission. I personally would have kicked them earlier on.
Another example, someone was AFK on a TF I was leading. When asked what was going on...just wow. They were AFK doing homework. I told them to please keep with the group. They did so for half the mission and left again. Their buddy was doing the same. Kicked em both a mission and a half later. It was just leeching, thinking they could get away with standing there and doing nothing for most of the TF while they did their homework. The TF went much smoother once we got rid of them and the mob od baddies decreased.
Anyways, always give the benifit of the doubt at first. But I wouldn't give them more than a mission to get their act together. If something is pulling them away THAT much, they should focus on it while they *solo*. -
Do what I do: Don't read the arcs. I know, I know...if you don't read them, then how can you enjoy them. Well, some of them...I'd rarther not enjoy ever again. I have one contact I plan to avoid at all costs. *shudders*
I do reccomend Seer Marino's arc (I think this is the one), dealing with GW and Wretch. That one is very well written. I read/played through it in one sitting, and it actually made me cry a little bit. I just got into it. It seems like the higher you get in lvl, the 'worse' the contacts get in terms of squicky (to me) content that I refuse to touch. -
Hell no. Just because you hate playing your 50's and hate PLing, doesn't give you the right to say that everyon elses lvl 50(s) should be auto-retired. If you don't like your 50's, then delete them. Don't even begin to dictate that other people's toons should be unplayable at 50.
The majority of the player base would probably quit immediatly if this became an actual (forced) feature. -
Got a pop up in game that stated free transfers (up to 6 a week) from now until Jan 31st.

Just got a pop up announcing the winter event and FREE server transfers starting from now, until jan 31st. Can do up to 6 a week. Um...wow? Did I read that pop up wrong, or are they serious?

Been sitting on Liberty for close to 30 minutes, waiting on you. PMed you twice on the forums, too. I can only stay around another 30 minutes before I need to go.
K...well Joe PMed me and said you PMed him to help you instead. May I ask why? You PMed me originally, only about ten minutes after I said I'd help you whenever. You PMed me telling me where/when to be on, and I waited for almost an hour. PMed you again (It says you read it) and then I get a PM from the above saying that he's the one helping you.
Could have at least dropped me a PM saying thanks, but no thanks. Pretty irritated. -
Ahh, I see. *Takes a moment to look at her character spreadsheet* Oh, so it was warmace. Serves me right for posting when I was still mostly asleep. =P Maybe she gave her toon the temp baseball bat power, but that would run out way too fast.
