The devs have said current Praetorian missions aren't going to be revamped until after GR. Their revamps won't be included with/alongside GR.
-
You said $30? Sounds like the expansion. If you bought GR through NCsoft, you did not preorder. You pre-purchased the expansion. You got early access to DP/DS, and access to Praetoria on release, and that's it. At the time of release, you will need to purchase the $6.99 GR Complete Pack to get the costume bits, emotes, and power. You will not get the enhancements or mousepad, because those are ONLY for people who preorder through Gamestop, and it costs $40.

Quote:Perhaps you didn't see the post by Black Pebble saying basically exactly the same thing that GG said, in a lot more words.Ah, you're psychic mastery of space and time allowed you to "see" the Devs in their meeting place deep within Mount Doom. Bravo.
Seriously, you never learn. Just because you assume you know something does not make it fact, and presenting it as often and loudly as you can doesn't make it so either.
PS; Black Pebble works at Paragon Studios/NCsoft Marketing. -
Quote:But they were. They were sure they weren't going to offer anything for retailers.Well then they could've just not included that sentence if they weren't sure yet. That sentence probably tipped the scale for many people, and now they are erasing it.
They changed their minds. That's not lying. That's changing their minds. Perhaps Gamestop gave them an incentive that the marketing folks just couldn't turn down. (And Razer (the makers of the mousepad perk) putting in a lot of promos on their website isn't a bad thing at all...Razer is extraordinarily popular in the gaming realm.) -

There are a ton of different Earths/different dimensions, depending on who you ask and which part of the lore you're looking at (some say dimensions, some ascribe to "multiple worlds theory", which is similar to but not the same as different dimensions). There is only one Praetorian Earth (the one that Tyrant, et al, are from).

No. The proc disappears after lv20. They are still worth frankenslotting with. The enhancement portion (16% damage/16% recharge) still functions. If you're looking for better enhancement numbers or set bonuses, you'll look elsewhere.

All new characters get them, not just characters that start in Praetoria. Villains that start in the Isles and Heroes that start in the City also get to use them, and they don't have access to Praetoria.

*contemplates how her name got in ZMan's quote of theOcho...*
aww, he ninja edited ;-; -
*clicks all over the place in an attempt to edit her thread title*
-
...really. I have no idea how you did it because I necro'd a thread I posted and attempted to do the same. Clicking on the thread title takes me to the inside of the thread, clicking in the empty space surrounding the thread title does nothing, and clicking on my name takes me to my forum profile.
edit: try doing this to one of the older threads you started, does it still work? the thread I necro'd was almost two months old. -

How do we tell the game which RandomJoe we ACTUALLY want to greet? -

Quote:You can edit the subject line as it appears inside the thread. You cannot edit the subject line as it appears in the subforum's thread listing.I was toying around on the Comic Culture forum and click on the subject line of a thread I created. It then immediately opened the subject line into an editable text box.
What mad science did I do!? All this time, we thought subject lines could not be changed! -
That has nothing to do with the decision to offer exclusive goodies, nor the decision of which store gets what goodies. Marketing says "Gamestop gets goodies." Developers say "okay, what are we doing for them?" Marketing and developers hash out possibilities, with marketing having the final say. Marketing decides to tack on another goodie in the form of a physical item (in this case, a mouse pad).
In only somewhat related news, did anyone else lol as hard as I did at the mouse pad wording? It's a "desktop skin" and a "high performance, repositional surface". No, guys, it's a mouse pad. Mmmooouuussseee pppaaaddd. -
Quote:It's not true. I removed that line and am reworking the section.

Quote:Correct. Are you sure you have the correct version of the client for your account? The US and EU clients are different (I think).
OP: do you have a NA or EU account? This will be listed in the game account details page of your NCsoft Master Account.
Once you have found out what account type you have, browse to your City installation folder. There is an CohUpdater file in there and a CityOfHeroes file in there.
If you have an NA account: must have CohUpdater.exe and CityOfHeroes.exe to utilize the NA account.
If you have an EU account: must have CohUpdater.eu.exe and CityOfHeroes.exe to utilize the EU account.
If your files don't match, all you need to do is change the file name of the updater to match. Then copy the newly renamed updater file to your desktop (actually copy-paste it, don't make a shortcut) and run the file on your desktop. Tell it to install to your current installation folder. It will fix things up for you, and then you can delete the file from your desktop (and the garbage files that the updater placed there). -

Make sure you're doing Flashbacks that even grant badges in the first place. Badge missions and badge arcs (for instance, the Fortuneteller mission) will allow you to restrict your character/buff your enemies, but will not award Flashback-restriction-related badges.
-
Please at least point your nerdrage in the right direction. I highly doubt the developers had anything to do with allowing exclusive rewards, nor were allowed to decide which brick-and-mortar store got what special goodie.

I changed the date in the wiki to 1979. The more I thought about it, the fewer reasons I could find to leave it at 1972. Michael White was twelve then, for goodness' sake.
-
If you look at the discussion page of that article, we have 2 dates for the founding of the Regulators, 1972 (when Michael White is 12) and 1979 (when he is 19). The 1972 is from the Scholar Badge, 1979 is from the 4yr anniversary calendar from a couple years back.
IMO, and as I said on the discussion page there, the 1979 date sounds much more likely, even if the official Paragon City background backs up the 1972 number (by saying "early seventies"). -
What I'd like is, instead of a set amount of time between waves, have it instead be a small amount of time (30 sec? 60 sec?) from the time you killed the last member of the last spawn. And since doing this basically guarantees success unless the reactor gets overwhelmed, slap a timer on it with enough time that a reasonably bad team may have a chance of success, but not so long that every single team will succeed every single time.

SLI is very, very loosely supported. It's not "officially" supported, but it... functions... mostly... somewhat. There's a few threads in Tech about it, and I think also in the I17 beta boards.

Quote:You don't frequent other game boards, do you? Posting on the City forums are like being treated with kid gloves. Even our worst trolls are still better people than most other game boards.I completely agree with you. The way this board is set up, new people come in a make a comment on something they feel strongly about, and get bombarded with mean comments. Why is it that when someone posts an idea people have to come back rudely and make comments as if they were the devs themselves? Is it so hard to say, I understand why you think this is a good idea, but I do not agree? Do they really have to be rude, and then turn the conversation to grammar? New people get scared away from these boards, and a lot of them are veteren players, that actually have a little knowledge to share. Besides isn't this board here to improve the game? If we scare everyone away how are we going to do that?
