How do we edit subject lines?
I was toying around on the Comic Culture forum and click on the subject line of a thread I created. It then immediately opened the subject line into an editable text box.
What mad science did I do!? All this time, we thought subject lines could not be changed! |

You can edit the subject line as it appears inside the thread. You cannot edit the subject line as it appears in the subforum's thread listing.

The word "Idea" only had one "A". I was on the subforum page listed above and clicked on it. Rather than taking me to the thread, it turned the link into editable text. I added the "A" and then clicked elsewhere. It flitted away, like a fairy or a hummingbird.
...really. I have no idea how you did it because I necro'd a thread I posted and attempted to do the same. Clicking on the thread title takes me to the inside of the thread, clicking in the empty space surrounding the thread title does nothing, and clicking on my name takes me to my forum profile.
edit: try doing this to one of the older threads you started, does it still work? the thread I necro'd was almost two months old.

You have to double click to the right of the thread title to bring up an editor.(You have to be the creator of the thread)

Hmm, don't know what to say, I made a thread to test it and it worked, but now it isn't.
Perhaps it's a short time limit after you create the thread, below x number of views, or it has to be the top thread of the sub-forum.
In any case, I don't want to go making 10 empty threads just to test it
It's entirely possible that you can change the title of a thread that has no responses yet, but cannot change the title of a thread that has had any replies.

Though I can definitely tell you it worked once, as I originally called it "test", then changed it to "[Remove]" after I found how to do it.
After you make a new thread, on the page that lists all of the threads for a section, if you double click to the right of the title, the title becomes an editable box, where you can modify the thread title.
It appears, however, that there is a limited window of time that you can do it for. I'm not sure what the maximum time limit is, though.

Biggest Troll on the forums? I'll give you a hint:
It could be a matter of which web browsers each of you are using. I suspect it wouldn't be supported by something like Internet Explorer 6.
