NCsite is down for maintenance

The what Shard?
Oh. Right. That zone I never go to outside of instances because it's so badly in need of a massive overhaul...>_> -
Heh, speak for yourself Sam, I personally find Praetoria way, way higher on the eye candy scale than Paragon

Besides, have you gone to Tiberian Bluff in Imp and stared at the forests behind the Sonic barrier? I was giving myself heebeejeebies. Something about it is freaky, I tell you.
That, and the subtle way Praetoria is a little too clean and shiny
Paragon would obviously be grittier. But it doesn't have to look like dirt. -
Quote:Where do I subscibe to your newsletter? Here's my predictions:
1. Blasters will be overshadowed almost completely by Controllers, or indeed any powerset capable of making tapioca pudding, thanks to the requirements of the Incarnate Chef trial.
2. Likewise in that same trial, Plant doms and controllers will be rendered useless due to the curiously specific Salad Shooter attachment.
3. Scranklastfendruptrollers will be the only multipurpose builds capable of handling the requirements of the Philby the Wonder Squid trial, because they're the only name Philby will be unable to pronounce so that he chokes on his tongue and dies.
4. No one will ever love you.
5. In a note completely unrelated to point #2, cucumber sandwiches are being served in Pocket D.

Quote:Step 1; make sure you actually have the first clue about said fiction before trying to use it.Lets dial this into the fiction of COX of what kills what.
Magic is dangerous to Science (In the Midnighters arcs they mention Rikti being vulnerable to it because their focus is science.)
The reason the Rikti are weak to magic is because they killed their Gods. There is literally no more magic on the Rikti Homeworld. All faith is gone, every last speck. Ergo, they have never needed to defend against it, likely haven't experienced magic until they came to Primal Earth, and thus got the hell blasted into them by the Midnighters.
Until they bombed them, of course...
The Rikti Magi are radicals who have started practiscing magic using Earth methods. Or were previously mages as humans, or descendents of Mu.
So, it has nothing to do with 'rock beats scissors'. And thus the idea would not work. -
I'd like the damn thing to work like it used to before AE came out again. That brought a whole crapload of text related bugs in, both for AE windows and for Character information windows, all of them rather annoying.
It's taken how long to fix, too? -_- -
If SS is aiming the comment at just the one guy, then fine. I still don't really approve of it.
If it's aimed at 'bankers' as a whole, then I stand by my statement. -
I (personally) dislike speedruns. As a Bots/Traps MM it's a particular pain, because my pets are derpily pants-on-head 'special'. I refuse the sudden Team Teleport, I get left behind. I accept it, and my bots will jump straight back the way they came, usually aggroing other mobs that were skipped. One particular case I found was on the LRSF where I suddnely found it was jsut me versus MoG'd up Valkyrie...cheers, thanks guys. I'm softcapped and all, but all it takes is one lucky hit and Im down another bot...
I tend to run what I call 'Alpha Runs'. Due to, y'know, being called Alpha
My 'Rules';
1) If it moves, Kill it
2) Repeat 1 until it's dead. Use fire/death/nuking from orbit as necessary
3) If it doesn't move....kill it anyway.
4) If it won't die...stick a burn patch on it/booby trap it to hell
5) Pause only to move to the next killing field...I mean map
Much fun.

I'm hoping you're just...
Actually, I'm not sure what I would rather you mean, other than being blinkered and obnoxious.
Fact: Not everyone who works for Banks is an evil, money grabbing scumbag. In fact, pretty much everyone in banks isn't, except for the very upper echelons.
Take it from someone who has family who work in banking, who got screwed over just as bad as Joe Blogs Jr.

Hmmm....Like.
However... I see no Dual Pistols/Super Reflexes option. I am dissapoint! -

Quote:Pretty much. All I see if Marketting using Nates account to snort a load of key and buzzwords out there. Nothing with any weight or meaning to it.I didn't see any mention of "what's coming in Issue 20" other than a link to a previous article containing SM's monthly producer letter...
I call Bull. -
Nate...how much of that was you, and how much of that was forced marketting spiel?
Because my GOD I could vomit at how many buzzwords and marketting terms were thrown in there! Seriously? Do people EVER talk like humans anymore in these damn things? -
Quote:Problem I have with that is it removes any element of choice from it.If there's a purse snatching, do you call out SWAT or the military, or just let the regular cops do their job?
Do you have your top programmers answering calls about "where's the any key?" Or do you leave that to less experienced people (IE, lower levels) to deal with?
It makes perfect sense that at higher levels you've graduated past dealing with Skulls and Hellions - barring something major, they're not going to call you in at level 20, 30, 40, 50 to deal with them. They're going to let Captain McLowbie haul his level 3 butt over to handle it and get experience dealing with those before letting him deal with tougher assignments.
Yes, you - at 50 - can get a tip (not radio) mission in Atlas... to deal with a level 50 threat, not "Bunsen the Hellion and his Five Favourite Flames." Radio missions tend to be with zone-appropriate threats... barring you getting hit with the "BOSS_NAME" bug holding a mission past an issue release and facing stuff much higher than you.
Again, though - not against the idea. Just saying that it's not exactly hard to get those exploration badges *now* with existing tools in game.
Why would a Hero not patrol other zones when on a quiet spell, to keep crime in check and stuff? What if would respond to stuff on the scanner anyway, given they are...y'know...a Hero? Sure, throw in higher enemy groups from the mechanics PoV. It'd make just as much sense as fighting Freaks in Atlas from a Tip mission. Or Crey, Rikti, Knives, etc.
And as a Villain it works too. If not more so;
"Whadya mean I can't do that? Get lost, jerk, no one tells me what to do! Now...who can I step on today..? Oooh, someones been stepping outta line, huh? Time to go say hello!"
Just a simple explanation for why it would still make sense. All they'd need to do is have radio missions scale up but on all scanners. Same with papers. Voila. Minimum effort, maximum satified. -
Quote:Not what I heard. Last I heard from BaBs before he left was that it was a case of there are literally no existing animations they could use as a basis for a set like this. Therefore, a bit like the whip, they'd have to do all new, completely from scratch animations for it. Which'd take a helluva lot of time.Staffs and spears have been suggested many, many times - since the game was first made. We don't have them yet, due to game limitations. Staffs and spears will not work with the existing weapon stances; they can not use a single weapon model for all body types, like they do with the other weapons (you can really see this effect in play by messing with the size sliders on a Huge body with a katana. But while its annoying there, it would be far worse with staffs.)
All together, Staffs, Spears, halberds, etc... the devs know that people WANT them. But unless they can find a work around for the graphical issues, these will remain a pipe dream. -
Quote:It's not impossible, sure, but it is an annoying inconvenience.Of course, they can already team with someone who *has* those missions if they're after the explore badges, too. Not against the idea, just saying there's not actually a "problem" for Praetorians as you say.
It also makes naff all sense.
"Sorry Captain Stupendous, the banks being robbed and lives are in danger but you're too high a level."
"...Wha?!"
I mean, you can already get tip missions in zones way beyond your level (Atlas park with a level 50 tip, for example.)
So whats the difference with radio/paper missions?
(Hint: There is none) -
Yes, yes, I'm slow. I'm also busy. Ahahahahakillme.

T'be honest, I' happy I got the piece done fairly timely and to a standard I was happy with, while still being aware of mistakes/things I would do better.
But I have a competetive streak that I can't help
Thanks for the comments though, guys. Really means a lot coming from some very, very talented artists.
And Wraith, same. I know I voted last time, and I can see hwo I'd vote for this time..but I feel kinda off voting when Im a competiter as it were
