Quote:LOL well I'd hope they'd cut me in for profits and that aside unless they recreate they'd have to get the full size labels from me (these are displayed 50% original size so people can view them easier) :PThis would be the easiest marketing job ever. The graphics, flavors, everything has already been done.
CoH Marketing could pick up the phone, tell pepsi to get in on it, send em a link to the forums and work on a contract. The creative work has already been done.
Seriously, these are awesome. I don't know about coconut or banana flavored soda, but I'd buy them and have collectors cans, something I've never done, but I'd do it for these.
I don't like black licorice, but it's Ghost Widow on the label, I'd buy a 12 back, choke down 11, and keep the last one as a collectors can. The idea is fantastic.
The other flavors all sound delicious, can we get a diet variety for those of us trying to watch our not-so-girlish figures? -
So here is the problem:
right now in game if have you one of the weapon Power pools (Assault Rifle, Axe, Bow, Broadsword, Claws, Dual Blades, Katana, Pulse Rifle, Shields, War Mace) Earning certain badges in the game comes with an added bonus of a new "costume part" in these cases new options for customizing the look of your weapon(s).
How ever this presents 3 issues imo:
1) Notice Dual pistols is not in the list, they need some earnable weapon choices
2) those w/o weapon power pools miss out a bit
3) the person with a weapon may not care to have that peticular cosmetic choice (which isn't so much a problem I guess as it Does tie in to my idea)
So the DP issue aside here is my Idea :
For those badges that earn weapon users a new weapon look, have an alternate costume piece option. This would allow for those w/o a weapon Power pool to benefit and those with the appropriate weapon to get the custom weapon choice to choose between the weapon option and costume option.
So when you earned the badge you would get a popup (maybe as the "!" so it doesn't block your view mid fight) with a choice between the weapon and the costume piece, with the weapon choice replaced with grayed out words saying "no weapon choice" if you don't have the appropriate weapon on no weapon at all.
and here are a few of my ideas of Alternate costume pieces you can earn:
Council - council Soldier body armor pice
Nemesis- Fake Nemesis Gloves, Fake Nemesis belt, Nemesis helmets and face masks (just some options)
Rikti- Various gloves (the ones with the glowie bits) and Boots (the ones with glowie bits and those cool jets on the feet)
Rularuu- maybe come sort of one eyed face option
CoT- mage hats (like the death mages have)
red caps- red cap err cap :P
crey- Crey tank helm and/or scorpion tank tail
Carnies- the mask the women wear and/or the strongmen head and shoulder piece -
I was reading through the Know your Enemy section on the main page and noticed Nemesis are not listed... I can only conclude IT'S A NEMESIS PLOT!

I made these Mock 20oz Mountain Dew bottle Labels based on the Fact that I love City of Heroes and Mountain Dew; with use the Fan site Kits, the symbols provided Here from our lovely War Witch, A few Pics from the Going Rogue can CoH Website.
hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I did creating them -
Quote:yea I'd be for thisHe's not talking about removing them completely. He's talking about turning "X contact has contacted you" Or "You have earned your first salvage" into pop helps, the exclamation points at the side of your screen, rather then the popping up in your face unexpectedly.

no I am looking for the actual stars and sipder symbol or the dagger and skull

Honestly I have to agree with the OP on some level...not every idea needs to be a super booster. Super Boosters are meant to be a Large set of costume pieces that all follow a common theme not some random items or 2 arbatrary costumes. Also there needs to be a balance between free costume pieces and booster packs.

I have Noticed that some people as there avatars and/or signatures have the various Symbols for the various alignments in GR (ie the loyalist, resistance, vigilante, rogue etc etc) and was curious to know where people got them...

Quote:can always get the new naga Epic looks like its wireless and has colorchange LED :PI have, use, and love my Naga. I'm worried that I've spoiled myself for other mice.
The only 'problem' I've had so far is that I find it difficult to use the 7-9 keys accurately. My thumb rests between the 2 and the 5, which I have mapped to Mouse4 and Mouse5. Moving it up or down slightly gives me easy access to the 1/4 set or the 3/6 set. I map these keys to commands I use in combat.
The 10-12 row I map to non-combat commands - 10 is permanently mapped to 'M' which is the map key in Dragon Age, WoW, CoX, and most other games I've played. The 7-9 keys, and the two foremost keys near the very front of the left mouse button, I just ignore; I've got 11 mouse buttons already and it's too hard to hit them precisely due to the shape of my hand.
There can be some set up required to get the mouse working with your game. The software now allows you to remap the buttons from the "1"-"=" default setup, but if you do so you'll also need to remap the keys in game. I have mine bound to the numpad keys and rebind in game commands to numpad in whatever game I'm playing to assign them to mouse buttons. -
keep in mind this was just an idea and I suppose they could be more powerful ( I was worried about making htem too OP),but I didn't just want to present the idea of clones I wanted to (attempt any way) to give a lay out.... I am sure if the Devs did do a clones set they would no doubt improve on the idea if not do there own thing with it... its the idea of a clones set that I am getting at (and hopefully showing it is feesible) thanks to all that commented on both ideas

I just got the Naga Mouse for my Birthday and I have to say I like it alot, the biggest challange so far is getting used to playing with it as it rather forces one to use the wsdaqe system as apposed to up down left right keys (which is probably a good thing since it makes strafing easier).
IMO the major advantages to this mouse are things like:
a faster ability to simply click the enemy of choice and attack.
When you hold down alt or ctrl rather then having to stretch your other finger to like say the 7-0 keys they are right there
also it supports a supper comfortable grip imo
my only real complaint at this point (and this is more having to do with the CoH interface, though they could do something with the mouse programing) is that the Naga's 1-12 keys are mapped automaticly to either the 1-0 and the - = keys up top or on the num pad ( a function of the mouse not CoH), and that the Naga interface window in CoH is auto mapped to the top numbers and there doesn't seem to be a way to make it recognize the keys on the Naga, the top numbers and numpad as individual sets.
So this leves you with 3 options that I have found will work best:
1) Leave the Naga mapped to the top keys w/o the naga interface, using the mouse to activate all powers and simply holding down alt or ctrl to access the 2nd and third treys like you normaly would but the mouse 1-10 replacing the top row with 11 & 12 switching treys
2) Leave the Naga mapped to the top row with the interface on: this defaults what ever is in that trey to the mouse (or top keys) this allows you to really minimize that top trey and flip through your power treys quickly
3) Flip the nagas switch and map it to the num pad w/o the ingame naga interface useing the kry board top keys to access trey 1 (after going in to options and mapping trey 2 to the number pad -I do this alternately so I can still use alt ...if I want to-)and use it for trey 2 and of course the 3rd bard accesed by ctrl + #
this can be fustrating and nice at the same time... it gives ya options, but it also may take a while to find what suits you best.
The one thing that could be improved with this mouse IMO is either for Razer to update the programing to allow you to have the keys on the mouse be there own independent keys from the key board or for CoH (and other game makers who choose utilize this mouse and ones like it) to find a way to program it so that the user can choose to have the game ignore the mapping and treat those 12 keys as there own ....
oh another plus it came with stickers :P (I love stickers :P)
All in all I will have to give this mouse a out of 5 -
As far as the tells situation I think (not 100% sure on this) one reason people on trial accounts can't send a tell (though if they could reply to them that would be nice) is RMT (Real Money Traders) IF people on trial accounts could send tells it would make it much easier on RMT. At least this way they can't use a 14 day trial then spam you and CoH/NC gets another $15. Though I will say IF that is the reason I am not sure I agree with it (especially since they do a pretty good job of keeping the RMT to a minimum).

also this means he wasn't doing one very important thing in the tutorial zone READING, it means he was just clicking okay and not reading a damn thing... I am not trying to be mean or any thing but if you talk to the NPCs and read it will get you through the tutorial even has markers showing you where to go... once out of there I can understand asking how to do stuff or even asking a vet how they got something but if you can't find your way through the tutorial on yer own you are in trouble...
as far as the tells thing yea people on a trial account can't get tells and the reason you can't tream for the mission is the morality mission thing choice thing... -
yes some voice customization would be lovely I realize its just grunts and groans and stuff but since that is all it is just take the current ones and do some modulation and wallah

Quote:yea...but there has to be a limit to power so for the purposes of the game 6 clone limit and mimicing your powers is what I am going for weather melee or ranged the point of the clones is that un like phantom army that other ATs have 1) you can control them 2) there powers are based off yours 3) they look like you rather then you having to make a costume that looks like your spawned armyIf they are your clones, shouldn't they be able to clone themselves?
Divide by zero.
having a multiple man type character has been something I have wanted since they made MMs (I just hadn't been vocal about it I guess) that and I'd like to have a mr fantastic type but that one I don't think could be implimented well with this engine clones MM I think might be possible -
Quote:if you read it all you'd see I addressed that and the point of them being coppies with pretty much the same powers is that in PvP your enemies wouldn't be able to tell the difference right off secondly it is set up so the different clones each use one of the 5 elements th last one using them all so that you have many types of assault at once... I mean if you want clones with there own poers and stuff then just do a def and make a costume that looks like there phantasms or w/e they areI like the idea of "multiple selves," but it comes with an inherent problem - these "selves" don't really have any actual powers to speak of. Unless you design this as a set of multiple selves where I have a minor super power, like some super strength and maybe a gun, then I could see it working, but just copies of yourself seems... Unbelievable.

lol I have had lots of IOs the wording on this one just made me wonder cause the stacking effect of combining the others in the set does spesify "your" recovery but the power it self didn't :P
-
Quote:looks like alot of that is being done in I19The only real request i think needs to be made is to add more missions so that the same ones dont continually come up. And i personally think that though someone that didnt upgrade to GR shouldnt be able to change sides, i think they need to alter the current system to allow them to use the tip missions to solidify thier alignment. Like a hero and do hero tips and then get the reward for staying a hero and vice versa for villians.
I say that only because there is a reward associated with staying on one side or the other, and i think if you add in a new reward system like that and your going to drop tips to those even if they havent upgraded, then you should be able to atleast take advantage of the reward for your current alignment. And the rewards basicly deal with buying IOs that are all availible to any character running the upgraded game or not. -
okay thnaks....maybe they should think of rewording the description from
Adds a 15.0% bonus to endurance recovery rate for 120 seconds.
to
Adds a 15.0% bonus to YOUR endurance recovery rate for 120 seconds.
just my opinion
