Quote:That's pretty expected, since Tyrant's sneezes can kill just about anyone.Speaking of, I did a Magi about half an hour ago. Had the misfortune of having my three small pets get killed at one point, could not for the life of me get them back up and fighting until the rush of destiny buffs right before the engagement with Tyrant.
They'd get killed with a sneeze. -
Quote:Actually I think it was more likely so that mastermind pets could survive something stronger than a sneeze. Remember, all iTrial critters are -minimum- level 54I had kinda figured the whole even level incarnate thing was testing the waters for making them just always even level. Almost like they started something and then quit.
There is a pretty damn huge difference in survivability there, because the pets take less damage from enemies that don't con as high against them. -
Nother random thought brought up in one of the other threads.
Hybrid is probably the most maligned incarnate power to date. Some people don't like the effects, they don't like the click/toggle mix, or they don't like the 2 minute up 2 minute down time. Or whatever.
And it has some decent numbers behind it but nothing even close to the scope of the other slots.
So, why not let it function below the Incarnate Cut off? (Level 45 for those that don't know) The devs have talked before about incarnate powers that functioned while exemplared in some way. It seems like this would be a decent way of boosting Hybrid's reputation and use. In Incarnate content it's pretty lackluster, but outside of it I could see TF teams using it a fair bit. Maybe I'm just dreaming.
Still, just a suggestion. -
Just an idle thought playing through Vernon Von Grun's little corner of mad science. He hands out some fun powers, mostly flavorful, and it just got me thinking.
Contacts selling just inspirations and enhancements has been semi obsolete for a while now (especially the overpriced enhancements). And some arcs hand out some really fun/cool temp powers.
So why not let contacts sell the temp powers they give you? Once you complete an arc they have the recipes or the like up for sale. So you could buy a Vial of Bees from Vernon. Or a plasmatic taser from... I forget, steel canyon dude by the tram. Etc.
Just a 'for fun' thing mostly, but some arcs do offer some nifty little powers. -
Honestly hybrid is probably the one incarnate power out of the bunch that I think would operate fine as an examplar tool, that is, if it worked below 45 unlike every other power.

...you also realize the well is empowered by advanced tech and science as well as magic right? The well works off raw potential regardless of the form it takes.
And you can't destroy a race's well without turning that race into a hollowed out shell of itself. -
Joke that it's the 'fix everything' issue and let the hearsay take it seriously

Quote:Haha, poor Control. It really has no place in the iTrials sadly. Maybe they can tag AVs to take Waylay damage the way they tagged them to take Containment without having to be mezzed. Now if this were The MMO That Shall Not Be Named where the need to min-max exists to a higher degree we might see a situation like that. 10 people would have Support Hybrids and would alternate them. The Tankers would have Melee Hybrids and everyone else would have Assault but things don't work like that here.
Sadly though I kind of have to agree. Support hybrid is nice but honestly is a drop in the bucket amidst leagues that already use Leadership and Destinies, not to mention soft capped IO builds. You quickly reach the point where more defense just doesn't help at all.
I could see Zombie's point in regards to Assault though, it is a very nice damage boost. -

It was never a nice place to visit, but you're really mistaking Praetoria city for the whole planet. Nova Praetoria is leveled, Imperial City was evacuated, and the Devouring Earth are likely barking at the gates but there's more to that world than those 3 areas.

Quote:if he's not so utterly broken by the revelation that he is indeed crazy that he loses all will to fight and just succumbs to depressionWe do - he's still on the loose, and still has a following among the Crusaders - there are several things that have happened recently that could turn him against Primal Earth, and he'd make a very dangerous enemy.
Though I could see him being used as a puppet in that regard. Secluding himself while an enterprising Crusader steps up as his mouthpiece to 'continue the good fight' ie, an excuse to continue their anarchist agenda. -

Yeah, what exactly is going to happen in the event besides just random prizes?

Quote:You're actually making it more complicated than it is. The story follows the leveling path, essentially.I have and thought her story was kind of resolved. Although the trial is pretty chaotic and it's hard to follow the specifics of the storyline. The wiki does not have all the dialogue and exposition from the NPCs transcribed yet it seems. (Not a critique, ParagonWiki is a god-send!)
But then, in Night Ward which I think comes after MoM in the story, she shows up again still playing out the children's story theme. That seemed odd to me or maybe I did not catch on to the pertinent plot details.
This is a general nit pick for me regarding the Praetorian story as well as the Incarnate story. It has gotten so involved that I am losing track of things. Without the wiki I find it hard to go back and review things in-game. I appreciate Prometheus' dialogue tree but even that has become difficult to follow. Might just be a challenge inherent in MMO storytelling.
Praetoria, First Ward, and Night Ward all happen -before- the iTrials. The iTrials all happen in order of release.
So it goes Praetoria, First Ward, NightWard -> gap -> Itrials (including MoM)
So when you talk to Penny in Night Ward she's still trapped in the Asylum, much like Malaise was still not 100% unhinged. -
Probably not. Just looking at the 4 episode titles released, lots of it can be divided up between them. Daleks, Dinos, and the Cowboys are all separate episodes, not a hard leap to believe some of it is from the other 2.

Quote:Please stop saying fix. That was an offhand joke about the issue and not a serious statement in any way. Repeatedly using it is just setting up expectations for people that don't understand that and spreading the disinformation. The idea of Praetorian Penny's mind seems to fit the picture. Could it be that "fix everything" also refers to the loose plot threads from the Praetorian storyline? There seem to be more than a few.
I think that I have run all the Praetorian arcs and missions now but there still seem to be missing pieces. Have not run the new SSA though.
My questions are:
(possibly spoiler-ish for some people)
What happened to Penny after she talked to you in the Night Ward mission?
Who are the angelic figures seen around Night Ward?
Now that the Resistance has won, is everyone screwed when Hamidon returns?
Pendragon's got to figure into some new storyline.
Where are the various key figures in Praetoria now, Loyalist or Resistance? (I loved seeing many of them in the Emperors Sword arc.)
Anyone else have loose plot threads that need to be "fixed" in i24? -

You can also find them all on here. See the button for facebook where it says "f Connect to Share"? Below that are 2 tabs 'Video' and 'Info'. I don't know why but 'info' is the default (even if it LOOKS like Video is the one up)
Click 'Video' and you'll see the archive of all the past broadcasts.
