I think it will take more than another issue or two to get us back into the 700s. now that any series of 5 badges will be a series of 1. so for example if they were to re-release the crafting badges instead of the 51 we got we would have got 11.
I haven't bothered to count them all up yet but I think I lost 75 badges, and in the 30 minutes I had before work got 11 of the 16 arena badges. so I am around the 660s again ( -

Daily, i would see the SAME ladies and men walk in and buy a hundred dollars worth of lottery tickets, and rarely win anything back. And when they did, they immediately bought more tickets with it. At first this puzzled me. Why on earth would you waste hundreds of dollars on a very unlikely chance of ever regaining any of that cash?
[/ QUOTE ]
Lottery is a tax on people that are bad at math. I have never bought a lottery ticket, once as a gag gift all my firends bought me a stack. I think I "won" 20 bucks on the 30 dollar investment. -

heh, how about X number of purple drops per hour, game wide, randomly selected. so all the people that chat for hours under atlas or in AE have the same chance of getting one as people playing that actually the game. Is that fair enough? .... sigh
people are always trying to beat the system. Just go out and fight stuff, not getting purples fast enough? just kill stuff faster ... it's that easy.

If I'm not mistaken, Castle had at one point (I think it was during or just after I13's open beta) said that in a perfect world, merits would work like that - you'd get x merits for every y minutes you were logged in, no matter what you were doing. However, the world's not perfect.

Are you joking? I can't believe a dev would support rewards for idle time. Man talk about taking AFK farming to a whole new level! ... I say quote or it didn't happen. -
What a great bind Mateo, thanks for sharing. I know I'll get tons of use out of it.

naw, don't let anyone tell you any AT is useless on a MoSTF run; I have done them with warshades, all kinds of scrappers, a fire tank, and once with Jules ....
uhh, that was a joke Jules

The problem is, as it stands right now its easier to make inf from ticket rolls. 7-8 Minutes for the ticket cap is not unreasonable, 7 Runs should put you at near 10 K tickets. I've found rolling all bronze its not uncommon to hit the 80-100 Million Mark selling stuff off.
Its scary how much you can make so fast, and then you get the occasional big jump in a Regenerative tissue +regen proc for 40-50 million. (Having 3 drop in one day was pretty sweet)
But really, that's where the money is (for me) right now. Purples? If I stick too it, I can probably afford 1 every day or so. Which doesn't seem completely unreasonable given they are supposed to be the rarest of the rarest of the rare.
I think the best thing they could do is maybe introduce them into the reward rolls in the MA. Maybe give them a nice small chance of dropping from silver. (As it stands Bronze is so much better but that might make people think twice)
[/ QUOTE ]
Purple roll for 9k tickets sounds fair.
[/ QUOTE ]
you mean a very small chance of a purple on a 9k roll or you get a purple for 9K ? If the later that would flood the market and everyone would have a purple'ed out warshade in a week.
I see the logic is that "everyone" is playing MA and causing the supply to shrink (while greatly increasing demand as MA kicks out 50s far faster than PI and Gv ever did.) However I still don't support increasing the drop rate, even while I have toons I want to purple out.
However I do support new purple sets, defense resistance, End mod etc ... and if that were to happen mabe increase the rate then as that would further dilute the supply pool for a specific type. -
I know I am in the minority here; but I have no problem with the purple drop rate. I don't assume I deserve them at all, much less at a rate faster than they drop now. I am thankful for the ones I get (about 1 every 4-5 weeks) and I am also thankful for the other players willing to sell their unwanted ones. I do have several sets across a few toons. some from drops most from purchase.
Are the devs wondering why things sell on the market at a given price? I doubt they wonder about such things at all.
What should they do? make the more common and create new ultra rare IOs ? I don't follow the logic in this at all. -

Still waiting for the day of SATA/PCIe be the only internal MB connectors and USB, Firewire and Ethernet) only on the back panel for ports (no more PS/2 keyboard and mouse).
[/ QUOTE ]
I hope they keep to the current trend of offering one ps/2 port. I am not sure what I would do if I had to give up my IBM Model M keyboard. I am aware of usb converters, but the ones I have tried randomly need to be reset (simply unplugged and plugged back in) which is a huge PIA when gaming. I am also aware unicomp offers a fine buckling spring usb keyboard, but I have had a 21 year relationship with my keyboard ... -
I have he same issue, and on top of that the intellimouse software crashes after ~10 minutes of play. annoying for the custom mapped buttons I use out of game, in game no difference. except for the lack of zoom on the wheel.

I am using a ram disk solution that hs a feature where writes a disk image to the HD periodically, I set it to write it at 8 am during the maintenance window. so far it has worked really well. I have yet to force a crash, or pull the plug to test things but worse case senerio I copy from backup and re-patch if there has been a patch and go from there.

I didn't know! I blame to dog ... or the dog's pain meds ... or ...
Seriously, I woke up that day and thought " I got a couple hundred million sitting here gathering dust I bet it would be funny if I bought and dumped all of one thing."
I had know idea what a flipper was or even the basics of this type of market economy. I just thought I would make a few kids happy by letting them get an item at the price they thought was fair; not so much making marketeers happy for selling them an item for 10 so they could re-list it for 50K.
I can't find that ancient post, for once the form purge worked to my favor. ... no record never happened .. O hh want nevermid .... now I wait for THIS tread to get purged. -

In this case I think I would've wanted no anniversary badges than the inevitable global/nerfed ones.
[/ QUOTE ]
Oddly I agree with this, but I am not sure why. maybe because I unlike some badge hunters only feel the need to collect them all, on one toon, and not every alt, so didn't have to log in dozens of toons in a month for the badge. -

Hm. Yeah, I forgot to think about about various swaps about sounds and such, so that makes a lot of sense... can't have *everything* loaded, right?
Kewlies, though, sounds like it does what you wanted, overall...
I remember BillZ had done one of those Gigabyte IDrives or whatever it was, where it ran something like 4G of ddr (ddr2?) in a card and made it a 'hard drive'... pretty much the same deal as what you're seeing, except he also, I think had the system on it too? (it has an external power supply) and it was wicked fast at loading Windows.... I could be misremembering though.
[/ QUOTE ]
The difference between the ram disk and an Idrive ( I looked into one, but not worth the price IMO) is that the Idrive is limited to the sata bus, this isn't.
so far I have continued to be impressed with my load times, I am no longer the last into a mission, and some times I am even first. and really that was my over all goal. -

wahoo, u made what i do within 5 days in one.
all i need to know now is , how often this will happen?
Then , i might consider pvp.
(though, if i want pvp i log on BF 2142, do half an hour of headshots, a couple valiums, and head to bed.)

you are making a bit over 57 million a day?
hmm I am doing something wrong. .. or at least not as right.
I do spend a lot of time trying to add new inventory to the market and not shuffling what is already there. I guess that's what I need to change. -
I hope they have a 2xp weekend this summer, One big weekend long push and I may finally get leader
-
Ok, so I got my rig set up and I have yet to pull any empirical data yet (to busy actually playing) but I can say that running the game from a ram disk the game does load noticeably faster, most zones do seem to load faster, tho it doesn't look like zoning to the sg base is any faster.
the ITF still lags a bit on the 3rd mission, however RWZ raids seem improved over running the game from the Hard Disk.
If anyone really wants the actual load time numbers I'll attempt to get them as accurate as I can. But I feel that if you have 4 gigs of ram to spare this is a noticeable improvement. -
Gratz! and hopefully losing the 89+ MA badges won't set you back too far on getting back into the 600 club when i15 launches

I play this game by their rules I don't pl toons and I work for every badge I got who's to say I am not stuck in a wheel chair and can do nothing else but play this game every waking monment and I have teamed and teamed and busted my fingers on the keyboard to get every badge I have earned no one should be able to take away what I have worked so hard for not in real life or the VR.
[/ QUOTE ]
Thats nice, but this game isn't yours and can be taken away; read that EULA you click on every time you start a finger busting play session. Also I recommend not busting fingers while playing this game, you might have more fun with out busted fingers ... or maybe I am wrong. -
1 TF 1 SF in i15 no mention of high level TFs or "raids" in i16 .. .yet

Last time I had that issue (4-6 days ago) I rebooted, and verified files That either fixed it, or gave the server side enough time to correct the issue ... either way.

I have 5 level 50 toons that I have grinded for evey level I got. Grinding for badges is my enjoyment in this game and it is why I still pay for 2 accounts. Let me break it down If I lose one badge that I have grinded so hard for I will close both of my COH accounts. Look I don't want this to come off as a threat I am just stating a fact after 2 years paying for the game grinding for every badge I have, you will take my fun away and why should I pay for what is no longer fun
