Where does this conversion take place? Is it automagic or do you go to the SG registrar or someone? If automagic, what happens to the Base Salvage in the Bins versus carried? What happens to Event salvage in the Bins? Are they counted against the new cap of 30? What about stored components in storage?

Is there a conversion of Base Salvage to Invention salvage like was hinted by Positron? If so where is the conversion done? If no conversion, what happens to existing base salvage if you can't convert and the workbenches and empowerment stations won't use it?

Looks like existing built base items stayed at the same cost so no need to rebuild them. That is something good. -

If badge earning time is dependent on getting the bonus powers remove the bonus powers. Most badges don't give you a bonus anyway. If you want to still get powers than make the accolades need 3 or 4 badges instead of 2 and you have your 60 days to get a temp power. -

Don't forget that these are just the first of the day jobs more will come in following issues. Not to mention the Issue 14 badges, Issue 15 badges and Issue 16 badges that won't be being earned by a badge collector while they are sitting off line to get the Issue 13 badges.
I could deal with a Single Job Badge like the Patron Badge or having the badges awarded on a 10 or 15 day cycle. If the Accolade bonus powers are a deal-breaker for the Devs I would just drop these bonus powers all together to get a shorter time frame for the Accolade badge. If the Accolade bonus is a big deal then link it to more than 2 day jobs to make 45 or 60 days to get the power.
I see a bow wave of badging time building up from this implementation that will discourage the collectors from even trying. And collectors are usually pretty hard core players as well. Badge Collection is one of the mini-games within CoX that attracts and retains players and this implementation in my opinion is a negative.
Collectors are part of the CoX community as are PvPers, RPers and just plain Gamers. They are just important as any of the other parts of the Community even if their views are different than your own. -

I would like to see Storage Items (Enhance, Inspirs, Salvage) allowed in Teleport Rooms, particularly the larger rooms.

I has been shown that any mob that can drop a level 50 recipe can drop a Purple recipe. So anything 47 and above. This is backed by a number of anecdotes supporting this. Whether that was what the Devs intended is not known because their statements are vague.

So, it takes our hapless Teaming Terri and her team 24 hours to do a Trial. End result? 1 Pool D recipes per day. And yes, if doing a trial that involves other missions/baddies, you can have chances at the pool A and pool B recipes again.
It doesn't take 24 hours to do a Trial, you can only get a Trial recipe once in 24 hours. Trials are usually timed at under 2 hours. -
You mention Casual Kim in the second part but not in the first.

I think Sam Solo is probably closer to the average Joe that you are targeting this guide to. It will explain to him why things are the way they are and what he needs to do to increase his understanding of the market.

You forgot about Sam Solo who never teams and only produces Pool A and Bs. I think Sam is a significant percentage of CoX players.

I did a sampling last night of Pool Cs Prime recipes(16 of 68) on both BM and WW and found both sides to be similarly in trouble. I posted the results in the Official Market response thread.
A vast majority of Pool C recipes on both sides had no sales in the last week. A significant number of Pool C recipes on both sides had no sales for 2 weeks or more. Prices on both sides for most recipes were within 10% of each other. Blue side had more supply and more demand percentage-wise. -
For Pool C recipes and highly desired recipes there is no reserve. I posted a snapshot of volumes in the BM and WW in the Market Thread that shows that both sides have significant shortages.

Or you could have the building blocks be I-Beams or Wooden Beams so you wouldn't have a solid blocking the way. Like the Wooden Stairs in Talos or Striga.

I agree that many of the OPs and other new CoH players difficulties could be eased somewhat by reworking the early game. But until that is done I might suggest that concerned veteran players such as those here individually or as part of a server/group effort form a CoH Greeter Corps that would stand near the Hero spawn points in AP and GC and local chat all new characters. These Greeters would offer hints and answer questions about early game play using local and Help Chat channels.
This would be kind of a community service thing to help new players get past the initial learning curve. We used to have Taxibot service in the Hollows to help out and this would be something similar.
I think I will dedicate an hour a week to greeting new characters and helping folks by answering the early questions that crop up.
Another thing that the veterans here could do is when you start a new character offer to team up with other new characters that seem to be 'lost'. Don't just join a Sewer Team and blast to level 7 to get your Raptor Pack every time. Pay it forward by helping some one out.
Just a thought. -
Nah, I think the NPCs should be dressed like scientists, or bar maids or Jeeves the butler and when someone enters the base they run up to them and shout out praise. Sort of like the random civilians that spout off your latest victories in the zone.
