  1. I haven't got a bad word to say about this. All I can say is a big: THANK YOU to the red names for listening to us, and the developers for coming up with the goods.

I left out base as-was, waiting for I13 to go 'live' - then I was going to decide what to do. This has really changed what I can now do a lot - and I'm really grateful.
  2. Given that I've never been to the Birmingham expo before.... how long a queue are we looking at? I know the early entries are 10am (I've got my early ticket ), but is it the kind of event where people start queuing say...last friday? Or is it a 'get there at 9am' jobby?
  3. Costumes are not necessary. I've been to several 'stands' at Comic Con, and never gone dressed up. Stop trying to scare people off who have never been! :P

Although.... I will have blue hair... does that count?

I'll be there early Sunday morning, hopefully to get a collector's edition COV box. Also, to get to the front of the sketching queue!
  4. I dunno. The Avengers were a huge super-team - they got a Mansion.

The Champions were a five-man team. They had a floor of an office block.

I always look at other games and hear of 'Guilds' (not 'just' WoW) and think "large, established group of players that induct new players and basically act as a large family/group." A Super Group, to me, was the same concept. The base of a Super Group, although expensive (and yes, price cuts were nice) was a symbol of success for a super group. Now...well, we've already said that a one-man SG can build his base.

Then again - Batman had the Bat-Cave, Superman had that...ice palace thing. I suppose this is why I don't read DC comics...
  5. The primary reason why I don't hop on the TEST server is because I'd rather wait to play the 'official' releases, rather than the 'sounding board' versions.

Tbh, I'm relatively happy with what has been announced, looking forward to badges, new content, new costumes. The things I've come to expect from a release. New powersets are always welcome, and the multi-build certainly will get me sitting down and thinking about my powers more creatively.

My one 'overturned applecart' issue is with bases. I accept that they have made it MUCH easier / cheaper for smaller / newer SGs to build bases. However, they have no made the transition from 'challenging and expensive' to 'cheap as chips' fair on the veteran players. That's my gripe.

Other than that - bring on the new badges!
  6. "If you cant run a script to refund prestige, fix the borked, clunky base editor so there is a place to store made items while rooms are removed and remade."

I 'drawing board' of items - a drag/drop window - the ability to put things *back* into your personal items list - SOMETHING to prevent the deletion / complication of shifting crafted items.

I agree with everyone here, and have to say, it's taking a *lot* to not get angry. My SG is a family, and we've been together for a long time now. We've worked very hard to scrape together the prestige to build a HUGE base that's perfectly functional. We've chosen function of aesthetic design, and then as we've had prestige to spare, we've tarted it up a bit as we went along. It's a centre of operations for us, and we're proud of it.

Now a band of loose players that've been together for the length of a Task Force, can come along and build a base at the snap of their fingers, without truly 'earning' it?

Yes, the prices were steep. But they were 'goals', and a reflection of the SG's achievement. Those established bases for established SG's should get the prestige refund without the extra effort, to allow them to build even BIGGER bases, and perform the decorative / expansion ideas that simply cost extra. Otherwise, what do they have to show for their hard work over the years? Nothing. Now everyone else can do it in a heartbeat, and they are forced to rip up their base just to claim prestige that is rightfully theirs, and that smaller, newer SGs / bases get out of worrying about.
  7. Wow, what a load of... well, it'd get censored. But a LOAD of it...
  8. Agreed. I'll stockpile some telepads just in case.

    Um...'brainstorm'? Wuzzat?
  9. Well, at least it looks like most of the 'crafted' items don't have to be deleted / replaced. With the price drop, it'd be easy enough to expand your plot and, for example:

    1) Build extra telepad rooms
    2) Move exisiting pads into new spare room
    3) Replace old telepad room for refund
    4) Move telepads back

Not the end of the world. Just...a lot of unnecessary work. Still, plenty of prestige will come rolling in!
  10. Hamidon Goo....for a BASIC TELEPAD?

So what we're 'making back' in prestige, we're losing in INF in the auction house - is that it?
  11. Is it wrong that I got excited about a new teleport location?

    • Added Teleporter Beacon for Pocket D.
    • Added SG badge to access Pocket D beacon.
  12. Salvage theft is going to be the problem, yes.

Of course, I don't know how 'simple' crafting will be with invention salvage. All white pieces? All yellow pieces (it would certainly mean they get used!)? Lots of rare pieces (what takes the place of the famous 'unstable rad pistols' used for Elite turrets?)

We'll see how it turns out, and in the end, we'll adjust. I just hope people understand that long before everything was made 'easy and cheap', there *were* a select few who had mastered the art base building (not that it's hard!) and had put the effort in to build fortresses that SGs could be proud of. It was something you worked for, and certainly helped to pitch SG invites to newcomers.
  13. I was going to log a new thread about the base salvage change-over, but since we're here...

I13 brings prices changes. Thanks for the example - it certainly allows us to build bigger bases, faster. So - happy about that.

The salvage idea...? Well, tbh, I've given up arguing. We can rant and rave, but they're not going to go back on their decision.

Eliminating base salvage is a bad idea, because base salvage is a system that WORKS (for my SG, at least - if datamining shows otherwise, then I concede). However - it's simple. A hero has his invention salvage and place to store it for his own use. Base salvage is central, and used for the SG (either the base upgrades, or for temp power buff creation, which is what we use it for, religiously).

If invention salvage becomes something you need to share, then how does it work? Do heroes just put in 'the excess stuff that they don't really want' into shared salvage, and keep the rest? Or do they put it in shared salvage and then find they actually needed it and go back to find it's been processed?

You can see where I'm going with this.
  14. Oooh - never run into the characters before. Photo op with Ms. Liberty!
  15. I'm with GG. Being a one-character person - not a chance. I have no problem with him being written into the game's 'lore', (i.e. history), but not present day, NPC control.
  16. If you're going to the NEC, I'll have to say hello and give you a big hug!!!
  17. I'm really sorry I couldn't get there guys. Had a bit of a ... rough weekend, and decided I wasn't going to be the best company, especially when trying to make first impressions. Sorry Zort
  18. I shall see what my plans are (i.e. city-based stuff, b/f stuff) and then appear for a bit
  19. "i won't do pvp at my base, for my sg the base is some kind of a "home"....and many other sg's think alike..."

I totally agreed. Our SG originally built up our base so that we could take on the CoP trial - but now it's our 'home', or centre of operations. Crafting, teleporting, meeting(s), powering up, storing / purchasing / selling. It's not a place we want to get destroyed.

Why not turn on the CoP so that we can run SG TFs, and *not* have base raids turned on for a bit? See if that goes down well, first?

    CoX On The Mac

    Ah right. Read the post.

Well, as long as we are allowed to pick'em up as extras, I'm happy.

    CoX On The Mac

Hold on - sorry - straight to mission teleport? Did I miss something?
  22. "i am saying that its unfair making people who HAVE put the effort into building a big, small, huge, whatever base, dismantle it."

  23. That was exactly my point in a different thread a while back...
  24. So 'just be happy you're getting some new content soon and stop asking'?
