Quote:We did?? Jeez, I'm out of touch. Was that in a patch note, or just a passing dev comment? And we just got rid of using idle time to remove items from character's auction slots. I find it difficult to believe that wasn't done because the idea of removing anything, even a right like right to unique name, from an otherwise active paid account was considered to cause more harm than good.

Ok, but what's the policy on pants-wearing when one does the thorazine shuffle? I've heard that's a concern around here. -
Can someone sticky this?
Best....P_P post....EVAR! -
I checked under civilians and heroes, she's not there. And, I can't make a "custom" critter that looks like her because we have no options in the editor for making children, just very small adults. Oh, well...I guess everyone will have to suspend a little disbelief.

All right, I looked, I really did, but maybe my search-fu was weak. I thought the devs stated that we could use standard contacts like Azuria as rescue and escort targets in out arcs, but I can't find them anywhere. Specifically, I'm looking for Penny Preston. Anyone know the skinny on this?
Thanks

How the hell did these illegal immigrants even hire a lawyer?

Quite likely he's doing the job pro bono. Notice who he works for, this is 1/2 publicity stunt and 1/2 setting a precendent. -

Timothy Zahn. THERE is the Star Wars writer to emulate. If Sister Flame's arcs hit that benchmark, I am gonna be in those arcs like white on rice.

KEEP HER AWAY FROM VIRTUE'S POCKET-D!!!
Otherwise child protective services will be after you.
[/ QUOTE ]
Thankfully, we stick to the more quiet times for Pocket D on freedom, but there was one time we were on Virtue (long story) and Sister Flame wanted to go to Pocket D...
Wyll: "You don't want to go to Pocket D on this server."
Sister Flame: "Why?"
Wyll: "On Virtue, Pocket D is a silly place."
Sister Flame: "Oh... not the good kind of silly?"
Wyll: "Ayep."
Yes... I use Monty Python references to educate my children. Sue me.
And as for the MA, Sister Flame has made it known that she wants to do two missions. One that involves some kind of dance contest and the other involves the player rescuing Sister Flame and Brother Frost in the last mission to take down the Elite Boss... whose secret we cannot reveal here because Sister Flame says that surprises must be kept. All I can say is that Sister Flame has made up a story arc that would put George Lucas to shame.
Nuff said.

I'll be there - but is it really that hard to trump Lucas these days?

Is this the future of CoH/V in that players complain of too much content?
Even before xp smoothing it was very easy to outlevel arcs at lower levels. People complained. They got Flashbacks.
But what will happen when hundreds of players develop missions for the Mission Architect and there is just not enough time in the day to play through them all? Will you demand a limit on player submissions?
What will happen if they develop PvP zones and games such that it will take a year to excel in them all and get their corresponding badges... and as you do so, they keep adding more zones and games such that you can never keep up?
The Badge Hound's lament that they need to get every badge should be vigorously ignored by the development team, for, in the end, it's a demand that the devs do not put in so much content that they can't do it all. In the end, it's a brake on the development of the game. It's the equivalent of demanding an amusement park that's not so large that they can't go on every ride in a single day.
We should be hoping that there's so much content and games and systems that no one person or toon can do it all.

I don't neccessarily agree that the world shouldn't try to accomdate you, but there is a difference between accommodating and focusing completely on your personalized needs. There really should be a meeting half way.

He played the "disorder" card. I have no patience with people who do that, and since I'm one of them I have no trouble calling them out for it.

Oh <bleepity!>ing hell, I didn't say "cater to meh!" I stated that I do in fact have a legitimate problem (and in another thread, that medication breaks other aspects of my life so it's not an option).
The point I wanted to get across: what do YOU gain from putting the carrot on a longer stick?
How the <bleeeeeeep!> do you suffer if they reduce the time from 30 days to 10-15?
[/ QUOTE ]
Not a thing. My point is, you don't bring up the disorder without expecting people to react to it. I know.
You most certainly were asking for special consideration based on your needs. -

I knew we were heading down the wrong path with the silliness of crafting badges which require you to make thousands of IOs even though a vast majority of them won't get used. But this is going even further down that wrong path.
No one is required to get these. My character builds for our supergroup, so the crafter table and memorization badges are great for me. But if you are just feeding a Gotta Get Them All mentality, you are the one being silly, not the game developers.
[/ QUOTE ]
And for those of us with legitimate mental disorders (obsessive-compulsive collecting habits)? What benefit is gained from making us wait, inactive, and penalize us for playing the game we want to play it?
And not everyone wants to make more alts, nor do we want to play all the alts we might already have.
(As for "Gotta Get 'Em All," yes, I've played all the Pokémon games. For every single one, I catch everything that's available in the game... then buy a $20-40 cheat device to get those that are from the alternate copy or some kind of event rewards, because it's the only way I can relax in the end.)
[/ QUOTE ]
As a fellow "legitimate mental disorder" (bipolar, in my case), I learned a long time ago that it was my job to fit into the world with my disorder, not the world's job to change to accomodate me.
We are a minority. Deal. -

Perhaps the devs are leaving room for the system to be expanded in the future?

It was already said that this wasn't the complete list at launch, much less ever.

Actually, I'm kind of disappointed at the simplicity of the system. I was expecting a multi-tiered badge structure, and 3-4 badges for the Accolades. And while I realize that we haven't seen the complete list, I was hoping for considerably more job categories; I was especially hoping to see some more quirky or esoteric "jobs" gained from logging out in places like the sewers, the Golden Giza and El Super Mexicano.

Did you guys ever hear of the game called "Eath and Beyond" probably not, and that's exactly my point! They had an "offline reward system" they lasted less then a year (i think) maybe less then two for sure!

bothers me. Didn't we get word from a redname that they can now make powers perform differently in PvP? Why not just nerf Power Boost in PvP and leave it alone in PvE? Or am I mis-remembering this?
