Quote:Plenty of characters had depth, actually. It's just certain groups weren't as fleshed out as others. And it hasn't gotten much better, since for the past two years it's been All Praetorian, All the Time. Fleshing out an entire other universe and ignoring the existing one isn't good. I24's definitely a step in the right direction by finally giving the Skulls depth, though, and I hope we get more of this and less of the Brickstown/St. Martial arcs.Very few of the enemies in this game have been given deep character development until recently. Think about it: before GR, the Praetorians were basically "What if the heroes were villains?" The Clockwork were basically generic animated scrapheaps who were animated by the Clockwork King to take over the city.
Less cliche', more depth. In my opinion, a good thing.
Also I just hate how the male Pocket D hair was made. It's not the style itself that bugs me, people actually have that messy kind of style. But it's how sloppy and unnatural the product itself looks. -
The Skulls looks better, IMO. Unlike the CoT revamp, all they did with the Skulls is give them higher resolution costume parts that still keep the same theme they've always had. The only thing I'd change about the new Skulls is getting rid of the Doofus and male Pocket D hairstyles. They look stupid.
Also the new Family are just guys in higher def suits. Which is pretty much what the old Family looked like. However they now use higher tech weapons and no longer have those cool faces they got with CoV.
The Mooks, however, look the exact same, which is cool. They're the ones that didn't wear full on suits, and instead just wore shirts, suspenders, and nice pants. -
Quote:I lol'dTo not let him feel alone, Recluse's Bane Spider Executioners and Arbiters also fart. Then Red Widow farts. Black Scorpion farts not to be left out, Mako, thinking everyone's just decided to loosen on formality says 'thank god' out loud and lets out a stinker, followed by Sciorocco who ends the meeting by proving himself worthy of the title "The Dersert Wind."

Quote:lol watnor is batman the sole definiton of natural, he cant bench press himself into having an energy tapeworn either, but peacebringers are natural.
you showed that a ghost is considered magic origin, congrats, much like a living person, they have that capacity that is not a statement that can be generalized to all of them. numidia, the circle, they are clearly magic because they became as they are through magical means. metronome and mother mayhem also exhibit traits that could be considered close enough to being a ghost that you could just as easily make the case that a ghost could exist through technology or mutation. and you are ignoring the fact that in night ward you find ghosts of normal people with no defined magical origin, nor are the ghosts in croatoa specifically magical, they are being harassed by magic from the cabal, but there is no indication that their powers come from the cabal's magic, just their increased aggressiveness. finally, do you have the background on the ghost ship form talos island? what magic origin does it have. you will have to bring a bit more data points than one character to prove a universal classification of ghosts. -

Quote:If a critter has no defense powers, XP could get nerfed. They do the same thing if a critter has zero ranged powers.Sounds like a good idea on the surface, but just to play devil's advocate...
1. As a Dev, 99% of the development spent on AE since its inception has been to stomp out farmer exploits. Now, I'm going to open it up even more?
2. As a farm map creater - hmmm. Now, I have even more fire attacks to choose from. And I can make a mob with zero defenses balanced out with these extra attacks ( or a weaker combination of defensive powers), probably without penalty to the xp/ticket level.
3. Back to the dev side - now I have to tweak the code that determines the amount of xp/tickets per custom critter. Probably becomes much more complex.
The devs are going to say - is this worth the headache of going back and closing down all the loopholes found by farmers in the new open system?
Note: I am a ticket farmer myself. Got nothing against farming, especially given the drop rates have been nerfed to heck.
And if the devs are afraid of a few farmers, they shouldn't have come out with DFB or made their entire end game based around grinding and farming. -

Yes, please.

It's not like it's hard to level in this game, anyway.

Quote:lol watNo, that means that by the time it finally comes out, I'll not be as excited about it because I've been playing the set on beta so much for free. Already up to level 40 the manual way. It should be on beta long enough to fix bugs/balance issues and whet my appetite and then put on live. 4 months to wait for the release, it's already old news to me.

Quote:If the banter is anything like the Nemesis invasion one, count me out.Banter is important to the superhero genre. A dev controlled event like this can banter with players, adding immersion and making up rules on the fly to make things interesting - say, the event culminating in Mako challenging 3 people to a 3 v 1 duel against him before the slog of heroes jump him.
The cost that comes with it is that mobs have to be triggered manually. But the versatility that a live GM has is worth it, IMO. Give me a talking fish that taunts, acts, and reacts over just a scripted event anyday.
"Oh look, it's Nemesis himself! And he's complaining about his steampunk computer crashing. And talking about ponies. And making comments about everything being a Nemesis plot. Yeah, I'm out." -

Just sucks you gotta be Tier 9 to get a quiver. Hopefully they come out with another kind of quiver for everyone else.

Also, the bright, blue background makes it near impossible to read most of the text on the loading screen, which also uses a bright, blue font.

Incoming flood of "u guys suck give me something I want".

They just recently added more Lore pets. Judgement's popular. I'm sure they'll keep adding to it.
-
Ascension was a recent addition to the lore. Which means it's impossible for Rularuu to have been created with the intention of being an Ascended. So yeah, he was rewritten to be an Ascended since he wasn't one originally, and now he is.
-
S'why I bolded think and said "recently rewritten". He didn't start out as one, but I'm pretty sure Prometheus recently says Rularuu is one of these Ascended.
-
That's cool? Doesn't change what I said, though. They let us be Incarnates, who were supposed to be the Most Powerful Ever class. Now that that class is common and everyone is one, they had to invent a new class above Incarnate that would be the new Most Powerful Ever. That is the Ascended, and we are not allowed to be them or else Prometheus will sic his off screen super ninjas on us.
And I think Rularuu actually has been recently rewritten to be an Ascended, according to Prometheus. -
I think it was just introduced because the devs wrote themselves into a hole when they let us be the Most Powerful Ever. They invented a new Most Powerful Ever that they will probs use on up and coming enemies so we can have a challenging enemy to face.
Think DBZ. -
So possible new game mode involving a third class? Ooooor what?

Four words, a mere four words and you manage to reestablish yourself as a waste of space. Bravo, Xzero45. A truly well done job. -
