Since I only have the one character (ever since Feb '05), and he's my badge-r, it's clear that I'm not going to 'earn' the day job badges anytime soon. I see them as a new kind of 'veteran' badge, to be honest.
I13 holds plenty for me. It's taken me two days to overhaul most of our base, and I'm sure there's another evening left of that before I'm done with it all.
I've still got 'content' to play through Ouroboros (arcs that I've never seen, that I enjoy going back to and catching up on missed plots). There's also the new content, and a contact that I have left untouched in the Shadow Shard.
After that, I have a full respec to do on my primary build, freeing up some slots and improving my IO sets. That will take money, and merits - so SG Task Forces will be run over the coming weeks.
On top of all of that, I aim to have my 400 rep PVP badge acquired by New Years (two badges in one - it comes with a gladiator).
In two weeks time, the Winter Event comes out, and I believe that there is new content / badges.
So - Issue 13 may not be a 'badge-heavy' Issue, but I've got plenty to do until I14 comes out... -
I'm having problems placing teleport beacons.... I've build a new room and shifted four of my 'port pads there. I'm trying to place beacons on one of the walls, and they are all forcing themselves to floor level.
The base editor is borked -
Has anyone else had problems placing the Pocket D beacon in their bases?
-
Well, I read the release notes, and overall I'm really pleased with the changes / new content. There will always be a few gripes, but I'm happy.
My nitpicks, of course, are that a list of the exact new items added to the tailors would be nice, rather than just 'day job specific'. In past release notes, we've had a list. -
Not on the news feed, though? I was assuming my RSS reader would pop up saying that the main web page had a new article announcing the release, and the patch notes would be accompanying it. We're not all forum junkies :P (I'm not saying "I'm not one", but obviously, others aren't)
-
Time for a 'workaround' then, I feel.
It always wound me up that in a co-op mission, you can't return to base (this is around the RWZ issue). Surely you *should* be able to return to base - just not use portals to go to a hero zone, if you are in a mixed hero / villain team? -
Where *are* the patch notes? I didn't think they'd been released yet?
-
This goes back to someone's comment earlier today about 'fair' versus 'fun'. The 'fair' approach prevents fillers on teams (invites which I always decline). The 'fun' allows the casual teams where you can form a team, and then start whilst a 'straggler' (for whatever reason - I'm the 'straggler' occasionally, so it's not a negative thing!) catches up.
-
Ok, forgive me for missing something...
You get merits for taking down GMs? Story Arc GMs, or ANY GM? Is Lusca finally going to get hunted again? -
"which in turn had Rex apologising for holding us up
....the fact is..he shouldnt have to.......
...let him take his time - its an MMO not boot camp lol."
/signed. A casual team requires freedom.
As always, look at comics. It's what this game is based on - it's an RPG, after all. Heroes break off from the core team to achieve objectives or 'collect something from base', and meet the rest of the team mid-battle, bringing the ever-loved 'backup / reinforcement' in a heroic entrance.
So - we can't even stick to the genre correctly now? -
Did they finally name an IO set after me? Fantastic!
'Winter Flare's Sarcasm' - High level knockback for blaster attacks? -
"Normally, we would have just got on with the first mission of the evening, but because of this change we were unable to select the mission that we wanted to do, or any mission at all."
I can understand how that would be frustrating. Whenever our SG run missions together, there is usually someone powering up on buff powers in the SG base, or levelling, or 'stocking up' at a store somewhere. However, they rendezvous with us in mission... it perfectly logical. This new 'change' seems like the first thing that needs to be changed back. I13.1, anyone? -
I always assumed you'd need to 'earn' your second build's worth of enhancements. In my eyes, it gives the aforementioned 'veterans' something to work towards (if they choose to). Remember, a dual build is optional, and (in my opinion), really for PVP (or missioning, if you want a 'team' build and a 'solo' build - or possibly a 'blaster' build and a 'blapper' build).
I'm waiting to see what new IOs are available, and then I'm overhauling my primary build. If and when I build a 'secondary' build, I'll remove the simpler things like 'aid other' and 'teleport friend', and focus on attack/defence. However, I'm fully aware of the fact that this is a 'project', and will require time, money (influence) and effort. -
Yeah. Shame that all I have to do to get these new badges is 'not play the game', lol. Still, gotta work on my PVP rep badge, so I have stuff to do 'til I14!
Ok - so...
Is the Pocket D teleport going to be:
1) a beacon that just appears in the list of base items?
2) an SG badge that we need to unlock (that has been missed off badge-hunter)
3) It needs to be 'unlocked', but isn't a badge? -
No, Badge-hunter has already been updated - and no SG badge for Pocket D
-
So there is an SG badge for it?
Hmm...someone should tell Badgehunter.com - they've updated with the I13 badges...yet there's no badge for PocketD -
Am I going mad? For some reason I was under the impression that they would be a Pocket D beacon available for I13.... is it just that it's not going to be an SG badge? Or did I imagine it?

You have to remember that it isn't a 'costume' - it is a 'costume power', much like those obtained at halloween, but permanent.
In your power list, you'll find the power. It turns on/off in a toggle fashion. It will replace your avatar with the PPD officer / hardsuit avatar, regardless of height or gender.
A few of my SG assigned the 'PPD Deputy Badge', donned our new hardsuits, and laid down the law in RV last night. Poor, poor arachnos -
I'd rather the devs were devving, than talking to us here. The moderators are the medium for which we can pass our coments to the developers, and vice versa. Given the way in which almost every thread melts down into madness, I can't see what incentive the devs have to come here and trawl through the threads to 'get involved'. It's hard enough as a player to read some of the conversations that get whipped up.
The developers have created a function to refund owed prestige on bases when I13 is released. This was a hot topic in the base thread. I can only assume that moderators forwarded these complaints to development, and the issue was then raised as a priority.
It is unsafe to make assumptions. There are many things we don't have in common with the US - and I'm grateful for it! -
That really is incredible! Jason's colours are fantastic, as I've seen on some of my other sketches!
Here's the one that Kat drew for Winter Flare (my hero) and Mr Chug, an SG member, and friend that I met up with for the first time at the NEC this year!

I'm also lucky to have had Kat and Jason colour some of my other sketches for DTWT:

Well, the NEC, for us, was the first chance for people from our SG to cross the country and meet in a central(ish) location.
Between 10am (when I first got in and submitted pictures for Mr Chug and Winter Flare to be sketched) and 11.30am, we trickled in, and met. Breakfast was had over an in-depth chat about the Avengers (the comic, not the TV show), and once all five of us were together, we worked our way around the memorabilia event, looking at the various stalls and chatting all the while, about everything under the sun! Memorable moments (for me, at least) include:
1 Seeing Kat Nicholsan sketch and then digitally colour Winter Flare and Mr Chug together
2 - Discovering Grovers hands in a glass frame (Grover, from Sesame Street)
3 - Hearing the crazy announcements as a lost child and his mother traded messages via the Lost & Found speaker which included a VERY stern instruction to go back to the toilet / latrine where he was meant to be
4 Reading the crazy and often hilarious T-Shirts that were on sale, and planning to buy them in the near future
Once we had traversed the many aisles of the event, we headed over to Wetherspoons for a nice light lunch, where we sat and discussed forthcoming issues, PVP, bases, Task Forces, and the Super Group as a whole. It was amazing that wed put off talking about City of Heroes all the way until lunchtime, but there was just so much to talk about to begin with!
Thanks to NCSoft for being there, of course. We could've met anywhere, at anytime - but you were there with your freebie-ness and friendly-faces to make it all the better! -
Aren't the PPD codes going to be given out to attendees anyway? Making 'missions' irrelevant...?
-
Note to self - spend this evening crafting replacement items that may be needed.
