  1. +10.5% Damage.

Doesn't sound much. But it multiply along with each portion of critials, if it does affact critical.

Still in the process of verifying.
  2. Would the +damage from Assault increase the damage output of the critial portion of an AS?

And does that +damage applies to the critical portion of a normal attack executed from hide?
  3. [ QUOTE ]

However, who cares its being done 24/7. Imho CoH already morphed into City of Farm&IO's, this is just a logical result. (min effort, max reward)

    [/ QUOTE ]

I could not agree with your more.

This fundamental problem of all these 10min Eden discussions is the disproportionality of the whole 'Effort vs Reward' mechanism, which is essentially the basic of all games. Take for example, people generally annoyed by others leeching. It is simply because the person who leeches makes the least effort for the maximum reward he could get out of it.

Farming Eden is the same: you spend 10mins or so to get rare recipes which otherwise would takes more time to obtain. That makes the valus of 'rare' meaningless in the game (will come back to this in a moment). The problem is of course not with the farmers - and this ridiculously funny when I see those farmers getting so defensive in this post. The problem is with the game design.

Nothing is perfect, obviously. But that does not stop people making suggestion on how to improve it: and in this case, readjust the Effort vs Reward balance in the Eden trial. Which ever way it is to be done is open for suggestions.

Farmers should not be upset about people recommending changes; people do make suggestions all the time. If farming is your purpose of being in the City of, by all means. Just that in my view (if not many others'), constantly exploiting and abusing the defective Eden is just sad.

    ***

It has been said that those actually doing some 'public good' out of this 10min Eden farming. They help to drive down the prices of some rare recipes in the market and also makes those rare and hard to obtain recipes accessible to more people. That sound very convincing if not noble. Hard to argue with that.

But I will leave you with this thought:
Smugglers help to 'import' expensive and rare items and sell them at a much cheaper price; 'generous' internet users upload movies and musics on websites for others to share. Their actions are indeed 'kind': bring goods that are otherwise expensive or rare to the masses. We should all be thankful to them. In fact, if they are the citizens of the City of, we should parade them all in Atlas so we can salute them.
  4. what they have done is to get half a team of blasters and half a team of debuffers and pack as many defence and resistance inspirations as possible. They don't even need Ambrosia, which makes that part of TF pointless.

They always ask for a Rad. Basically if you are any other ATs (not blasters or Debuffers), you will have a hard time getting into their 10mins team.

They usually run 2 - 3 times each round and 1 - 2 rounds a day. There is even a 'Eden Fast Run' Channel for it.

In my view, they ruin that Trial entirely; it has been exploited so badly that the trial should be suspended pending further improvements.

Or another way to inject some normality and fun back into Eden Trial is to put a 'Kill-All' criteria into the trial. So basically, everything moves in those caves, dies. That should make Eden trial less of a farmland but more of a normal trial.
  5. neh, it has been done, in fact, by myself.

  6. You know like the costume slots where you can change your costume, might be we could have one PvE and one PvP powersets slot. In which case you can have a PvE build for regular play and have the option to switch to the PvP build upon (and only upon) entering the PvP zones.

  8. [ QUOTE ]
Stan Lee emphasizes the difference between "realistic" and "convincing" - Spider-Man has never, is not and will never be the former, but in order to succeed as a story, it has to be the latter. I suspect the OP means "convincing" rather than "realistic" - otherwise it's the wrong term for a fantasy adventure game.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Fair enough. Convincing probably a better word.

I think probably we are too acustomed to using the zones as a transit point between mission doors. Perhaps we are too busy just doing missions and get levels. If people are not interested the slightest, the whole City of might as well reduce to a list of missions, TFs and, of course the most important place of all, Wentworth and the Black Market.

    What a waste.

Most places of The City of are large the mirror of the real world: the traffic light system, the US style road signs, office blocks (and the photocopers and bins inside), trains and ferries as transport systems, bank...... and now real-life ads too. But even with all these things, there are still a large numbers of other details missing out. That was what I was trying to point out.

Of course there are certain degree of fantasy in the game: I was not even deny it in my original post. But fantasy only makes the game entertaining; believability makes it absorbing and enjoyable.

In fact, most comic books story arcs do, to a rather large extent, hinged on settings that you would find in real life: the police and the military organisations, the use of citizens are a good example. This game do have something similar but does not seem to use them well enough. Or, to put it this way (if that might make my concern clearer): it is hard to feel you are in a city; which is a failure, as I see it, because fundamentally this game is adveristed as 'The City of...'

Yes, there are something missing in the fantasy world of The City of: the obvious details and sophication.

The list is getting too long and I only managed to read a few pages. Apologies if I am repeating some of the ideas that have already been put forward:

    1) Recipe Storage

Either in form of a space in the Vault or as a storage inside a SG base.

    2) Enhancement Salvages Storage

In form of a base storage

    3) Longer search list

From time to time, when the player number reaches above certain numbers, the Team Member search list will be trancated. It makes looking for team and looking for members rather difficult. Just show all the unhidden players unless search criteria has been used.

    4) Looking for More Flag

I have read somewhere a while ago regarding the introducing of a Looking for More flag into the Team Member search list. Essentially it will indicate which team is looking for more members. Together with Point 3 above, these two features will make regular teaming more efficient.

    5) Notice Board

Not every player belongs to some sort of channel (say, Badgehunters Channel or MotherShip Raid); especially new players, returning and part-time players. A General Notice Board can be a place where player(s) can organise and choose to participate events like Task/Strike Forces, Trials, Ship Raid or even just doing Cape, Aura, Midnight Squard or Patron Story Arcs together. The format of the General Notice Board contains of 5 basic information (or more, if necessary): Time, Activities, Place to meet up, Level range and the Person who is organising it.

This would give players of various level, experience and interests the chance to experience the game contents more.

    6) Commment Box (Board)

More or less similar to the idea of Notice Board. But this one is for general in-game comment; such as which story arc is fun, tips and hints of getting certain kinds of mission done (say Bank Mission).

Or it could be a place for Q&A: players post a question in-game, for example how to get the Midnight Squard Badge, what patron should I choose for my ..., where do I get the Ouroboro Portal and so on. Just that players don't have to switch between this forum and the game but rather have their answer on the spot in-game.

    7) Renting an Apartment

This is a funny one: I want to rent an Apartment for my Heroes in Founders Fall, and my Villaines in Nerva. I don't want to log off in random places; I want to log off at my 'home'!

    [/ QUOTE ]

    8. More Customisable Costume and more Flexible Body Shape

Most costume piece come in fixed shape. How about allow the shapes and sizes of each costumes to be altered: for example, a big cowboy hat, bigger or smaller shoulders piece of certain types.

Also, can we have more patterns which are allowed to go on a garment please? As far, only one chest detail can be used and, in most cases, only one chest or bottum pattern can be used.

In short, more mix and match would be nice.

At the moment, no matter how hard one tries, most female and male body shapes are relative ideal: as in being curve and muscular. I do want a fat hero/villain, or one with silly big head or big feet.
  10. How come there are more roads, bridges and motorways than cars in Paragon City? Most of the roads are empty too; only one or two cars or vans drive by occassionally.

There are bus-stops but where are the buses?

There are no school, post office, restaurant, cafe, cinema, shopping mall, ... and so on.

There are far too few pedestrian on the street than there are buildings.

There are only one zone where you can do something about a burning building.

There are Giant Monsters but when are they going to tear the cities apart like they should be doing instead of sitting around in a cornner waiting to be killed.

Relatively speaking, Paragon City and Rogue Isle are more believable comparing to others MMO. Just that: why those obvious details are missing.

I know it probably because otherwise the internet traffic will be too busy. But as a 'City', those obvious details is SO hard to ignored.

Think about it: hero rescuing traffic accidents as a zone event, diffusing school siege, taking to NPCs in an outdoor cafe, rescuing people from natural disasters, ... and so on.

Even though, after all, it is a fantasy game, put some realism back.
  11. Oooooh.

Well, hope it will happen some time in the future

  13. Has this suggestion even been made before?

Is it possible for the character to carry his/her own weapon - for example Broadsword, Axe, Mace, Guns of various kind, Dual blades - on the back as an optional back details? Since those weapons are drawn from the character's back, why not just carry it around on the back. Instead of drawing the weapons out from thin air, they might as well be drawn from where they came from.

As to Katana and Ninja Blade, since it is drawn from the side, how about carrying it on the side with matching sheath? The sheath might have to clasified as back details as well; unless it won't comically poke throught the cape or the trench coat.

    Most Wanted List

I thought of recycling the existing spiderbots/spiderlings and disruptors (like those you see next to a ferry). It will possibly a rather quick and easy way of getting new MM sets.

That said, there will be some overlapping with the VEATs' pets. So course, so long as most people don't mind about that overlapping and the occasional confusion of fighting NPC spiderbots with the MM spiderbots, it is doable and would get MM their long-waited for new set up and running rather quickly (and cheaply too, in terms of development costs)

    Axe Brute

Just made an Axe/SR brute 2 days ago and it was SUCH a pain to level her just to 12. Am I doing it wrong?

I know the recharge is slow, but the end drain is just downright terrible. Even now I have one lv15 End Red invention in every one of her attack and 1 in each of her defence too, she still can't move from mob to mob like other brutes - she needs frequent resting, and of course, by the next mob, all the fury will be gone. Axe is driving me crazy.

And I really don't see that many Axes around. I have only seen one lv50 Axe Brute so far. Is axe that bad for brute? What is the best way to play it then?
  17. Super Reflexes can be paired with a few weapon-holding powersets now: Dual Blades, Katana, Broadsword, Axe and Mace. Every time when Practiced Brawler kicks in, it causes the weapon to be redrawn for next round of attack.

How nice would that be if, during animation of Practiced Brawler, the weapon remains holding in hand(s)? It is particularly troublesome when the rehcarge time of Practiced Brawler is rather quick and one would end up with a character constantly keeps pulling the weapon out of its back.

Please, can the weapon remains in hand after Practiced Brawler?
  18. Slightly off-topic but still rather close to the existing line of discussion:

Exactly the same situation as before, but what if: you now have Scrapper and a Stalker in front of you, which one will you go for?

    [ QUOTE ]
For example, you are in a team of 7 ready to start a LGTF or an ITF. The team is very balanced: you have a tank, ranged, control and supports. What is missing is a melee AT. What would you go for: a scrapper or a brute?

Assuming all of you are the same level.

    Coop Zones

I love the Coop zones and, most of the people I have been teaming with, all of them love playing in the Coop zones too. Sadly, though, we only have 2: Rikti war zone and Cimeroma; and 2 sets of TFs/SFs, one in each.

I do feel that most people would want to see more Coop zones and more join operations (missions) between Hero and Villain ATs. I understand that it takes a bit of effort to develop a new zone. So how about allowing Hero to do Villain's SF and vice versa?

I have once read about the 'Going Rogue' suggestion either in this or the US forum - but I have not keep up-to-date with that line of suggestion anymore. Perhaps something along similar line of thinking: Villains can hire rogue hero to do jobs for them on a contract basis and vice versa. The heroes will then join the villains' team to do a SF. There can only be an equal number of heroes in the team as to the number of villains. It is because conceptually, villains do not want the heroes to dominate the SF; and practically there are more heroes than villains and if the number is not restricted it would drive the villains out of the SF teaming opportunity. That should open the door to more SF/TF experience to both sides and new experience in teaming with a wider pool of ATs.

I know current Hero cannot enter Villain zones and Villain cannot enter Hero's. May be such mixed side teaming perhaps can be organised via Ouroboro: for example, if a Hero is hired to do a Villain's SF, the Hero will be zoning in from and out to the Hero's Ouroboro insteading of the street of the Villain's zones. In that case, the hero might have to sit out one or two missions: mostly those 'Kill/Interrogate some many so and so off the street'. Anyway, it seems doable.

Another venue where this kind of mixed teaming can be organised is in the Midnight Club House, and zoning in and out via a cystral.

The idea sounds good in my head - it does not cost much to develop and it instantly open more teaming opportunities. I wonder what do others think.

  23. Hi all,

Can I slot more than 1 proc into 1 power?

For example, I have a Kinetic Combat KB proc in Smite. Can I slot a Pounding Slugfest ino the same power? Would the 2 Proc still be working?

    Thanks
  24. No. I managed to TP next to a target and AS it before I drop back on the group. No hover is needed. The hovering effect after TP is just long enough (well, I say 'just').

I must say that I did miss sometimes because of lag (either server lag and graphic lag, which means that I could not get the timing right) or I mis-judged the distance between me and the target.

The best thing to do is to TP yourself from above.

Yes, now you can see TP then AS is not perfect. But it's doable - particularly against Drones that can see throught your hide.
