I agree with th OP's sentiment but whatever you choose to do in life there will always be someone else willing to take it all far to seriously to the possible detrament of others.

Respect to KS for his honourable withdrawel.
Personaly i hope the organisation was more the buzz for you in this event than the actual participation but despite that I do sincerely apologise for preventing your partaking in something you would have enjoyed.
To my mind the only fair way to organise and participate is to have absolutley no involvement in the rule making process or just simply have no rules ( as far as that is possible).
If you are still interested in partaking to any degree KS plz PM me an I will run a couple of ideas by you that should be able to allow that and seperate you from the responsability of the rule making.

I officially object to the organisor participation in this event upon the following grounds.

He designed the hero-villian equivalent table with to me looks skewed why say is tanker /= brute or blaster /= corrupter, as would seem to be the more common view of such conversions. Therefore the reason for my objection is this could be an attempt to get his idea of an Uber villian/hero mix team into the contest to win it.

Sorry Stalker but I feel even with impartial referees your own participation will always look somewhat suspect as you have had control over how the event was set up. Like perhaps choosing somewhat unusual power lvls that you may have studied (done a lot of comparisons in the arena) wheras most people are more used to full lvl battles. These are just examples of possible exploits and I am in no way accusing you of doing such but I feel your participation in the event will always carry with it an aura of suspiction.

Good luck with the event though I'll be interested to see how much of a turn out you get.

Let me suggest something on that:
Make the "tutorial" talk missions (i.e. those that don't have ambush involved), droppable without counting on the 3-day limit of the other droppable missions (i.e. no counter on those, someone can drop any number of them any time). Also make sure that when dropped they give no XP, but when they are done properly they give XP to lure people on doing them.

I didn't know you could skip the tutorial until someone pointed out that the 'no' option on the 'Enter tutoriel' dialogue actually means 'skip' not 'back as I thought it did, So just change that plz

Devz wat wer u thinkin Plant/emp must be the most gimped build in exiztance. One half my powers just make like loads of enemies stop dead in there tracks the other just makes loads of green numbers fly everywhere onscreen. I mean plz what is the use of that this has got too be the single worst troller build evvveeerr, well after the fire/kin that is. And don't get me started on the fire/kin, A bunson burner and a newtons craddle what the hell are u supposed to be able to do with that!!
Frankly I quit this game sometime just before the closed US beta and have no intentions of returning until the Devs get a senze of balance and give us some much neede troller love.

If i was a PC and received a complaint that when I was down the pub my mate wanted to borrow a DvD so not wanting to leave the pub I leant him my keys for the express reason of only taking one already specified DvD from my house and he cleared the place out I think, I would indeed have to take that seriously, Sorry.

I think in a real world situation the Police would make every effort to pursue this case to it's inevitable conclusion. Unfortunatley this happened in game, which doesn't neccaseraly mean the same legal ramifictions don't apply, but what seems to have caused some dispute in this case is the nature of the 'permission sysem', the OP is adamant and I am perfectly willing to believe him that he made clear his intent in giving someone such permission and this trust was broken. Unfortunatly being an entirely binary permission system in game in eesence it could be agrued while th OP contests that what he meant was you can take for the good of the group you may not take for your own personal gain, all that can really be ascertand by the fact he checked that particular box is that he said 'You may take'. This unfortunatly seems to have led to some degree of misunderstanding and heated discussion.

Obviously to some improving QoL in Paragon means helpful interface choices to others it means more sweeping changes, anything that makes you a bit happier could be seen as a QoL change. It's all a matter of personal taste and interpretation.

A chat option when you left click someones name in the chat window, if you just receive multiple tells you end up typing names or dumped in the search window.

Perhaps Wow has a more finally balanced threat system than Coh I have no experience of it and so cannot say but to my mind even that system must be fairly biased, in a real world situtaion are you really gonna hit the tough guy who you can hardly hurt but isn't really doing much other than stand there or the guy who's killing all you mates or the damn healer who is stopping you killing all them, too me the whole concept of a 'tank' is somewhat a falicy.

I would doubt range is a factor in PvP as in PvP surely taunt must act more like a locked confuse mez as surely there would be no need to calculate threat rating in a PvP battle ( no AI decisions to be made ). Perhaps I'm wrong someone may well know better.
And surely the whole idea of PvE tanking would fall apart if mobs really did attack the most threatening oppenent ( by dmg) the 'tank' wouldn't get a look in until all his mates were dead and then said spawn would probably wittle him down or he would retreat. All in all it's a bit of a conceit to allow a certain team dynamic to excist, and I'm quite happy to turn a blind eye. Just how I see it anyway.

Fair enough I'm not saying it was some epic fail or anything. Still the inaccurcy of the first message I received annoys me a little. So yes the Mods did good, Being entirely unaware of the announcement thread they did at least give us about an hours warning but if they could do that on the threads (and I would possibly suggest that such 'emergency' posts be cross threaded to all topics so you make sure people see them) Why only a 5 min warning ingame, And if this has happened before why don't they already have a 'Sorry that patch didn't take we need to rollback our servers' Message. And I find the whole we had to do it in 3 languages excuse a little weak to be honest , If I'm not mistakin Pall you are French I'm sure a simple Translation isn't gonna cause you too much strees and thats 2/3 of the problem solved and if there isn't a German speaker actually in the office I'm sure you've probably got ones phone number, hey problem solved.
So while I can see the good sides to the way the Devs handled the problem I can also see room for improvement.

I assume the patch goes up with the servers at daily maitance. Given that there must have been some 8 hrs worth of accumilating warnings, which at some point must have made them decide they may have to close servers down, then is the time to plan such action not when what you perceive to be 'critical mass' of provblems has been achieved. This to me is in now way an emergency and to be frank comparisons to real life emergencies is rather rdiculous IMHO.
