Except that what he's describing in the video is being claimed to be an actual step toward invisibility and it isn't.

There have been other avenues of creating invisibility that don't use nonsensical and non-existent science and whose prototypes don't rely on flat out misrepresentation of what's being shown.

    Umm... that's proof he's a charlatan.

The image we see of the pencil supposedly be made visible through the black cap is just the image of the pencil we can still see overlapping the black cap because of the refraction strata in the overlay. Slow the video down and notice that the image of the *tip* of the pencil disappears completely. All we're seeing is the bright yellow of the base of the pencil supposedly behind the cap.

If he put a marble behind the cap such that no other part of the marble extended past the cap, then there would be no image of the marble leaking through the cap.

He is either so batpancake insane that he doesn't know what he's talking about, or, he's relying on people he's demonstrating this stuff to be be so batpancake gullible or batpancake ignorant of basic science that they can't recognize he's talking gibberish.

They really don't glow. They just don't dim in dark light environments giving the illusion they glow.

If you chose dark colors for them or are in bright daylight, they will not have the appearance of glowing.

Think of it more as 'glow in the dark'.

And which one of these has a working prototype made by some guy in a garage?

    VIP Status?

I'm not sure when the opportunity closes if it was when Freedom was announced or when Freedom actually goes live.
VIP simply means you're a subscriber, that is, you paid for the month.

When you stop paying, you're playing for free, but you lose access to stuff that you haven't specifically purchased separately.

You can become a VIP at anytime.

There was a bonus, however, you did miss out on. If you had subscribed in July, you would get 400 Paragon Points a month until FREEDOM was released. But once FREEDOM goes Live, you'll get 400 Paragon Points each month after that.
  6. Some Devs thought that Kilts wouldn't be manly enough costume, which is why it took so long to get them. Here was a man-tage I made to show just how manly kilts are:

Creepy twins when wings came out:

    Even creepier:

The lady-sit emote is very popular:

    Speaking of bunnies:

    And... an homage...

    False dilemma.

You're leaving out a third option: Batcake crazy.
  9. 1. If it's ordinary content, you can play it as often as you want and get what rewards you want from it as often as you want with some exceptions:
    • If it's a thing that gives surprisingly good rewards that are so good that people seem to be doing nothing but that thing over and over again to the exclusion of everything else, the Devs will 'fix' that out-of-balance reward: e.g., they'll put a timer on the mission; reduce the rewards; increase the difficulty. This is really a question of game mechanics being unbalanced and the perceived 'nerf' is really fixing the balance.
    • If it's a thing that a sizable number of players are using to annoy another sizable set of players, it will get 'fixed' to make it not so appealing. This happens when all of a sudden the broadcast channel is fill with nothing but appeals looking for that thing or recruiting for that thing. Or if the farmers in question are badgering others with tons of unsolicited tells regarding this thing. (With the number of solo farming options now available, this scenario is now not as likely to happen.)
    • If it's an AE mission that is so obviously a 'farm' with no redeeming story quality. It gets removed. Eventually. After enough petitioning. When they get around to it. If you dress up the farm in a basic story, it's likely never to get touched.

    2. If some mechanic is being exploited to get incredible rewards (level 1 to 50 in a few hours, e.g.; or getting 100 million inf an hour) than it gets quashed as soon as possible, whether one person was using it once or it's being farmed by thousands for the past month. Exploits are always removed. Those who knowingly abused an exploit may find their gains taken away and may even face a possible (temporary) ban. Not as likely, but has happened.

    wings

(click on links for more info)

Go to one of the Markets in the game and click on a rep there and search for wings recipes and buy the one you want. In your recipe window, check out the salvage you need to craft those wings and buy them if you don't have it. Then go to a crafting station (in the RWZ Base or a University) and craft the wings. Then go to a tailor to equip them.

Those are the base wings any new player can get their hands on.

Some other wing choices require buying one of the booster packs or being a Veteran player (see link on wings above).

Keeping the accent color that 'different' through either contrast or hue or both all the way through all the pieces is the problem.

Normal solutions to 'fix' these is to choose a much less differing hue or brightness level in the highlight color throughout the pieces or on specific pieces; or, to introduce more neutrals.

For the brown and blue (light grey?) CoT, I'd go with a much darker grey.

For the hunter-green and gold CoT, I'd change the gold in the boots, gloves, hat, and breech cloths to a muted brown. There's no need to use two and only two hues.

But on the other hand, we've been told that this patch doesn't represent all the changes they've made. So, AFAWK, these CoT don't exist anymore.

No. Their AI goes screwy when certain powers recharge more quickly than they should. An extreme example would be them winding up using nothing but Brawl.

Their movement speed can be increased, but not the recharge rate of their powers.

Well, it looks like this powerset will be easy to slot out: all recharge enhancements
Arbiter Background said on Ustream that he likes to go for a lot of global recharge and then with Time Manipulation's own recharge.... he has hit the recharge cap.

    Does that help?

I'll answer this, too, since I want him in the FP.

I want him in because for five years I've been told in-game that he is in the FP. From City of Villains to Ouroboros to Who Will Die, BAB has been included in the FP by the Devs.

When I saw Posi's tweet, I was all, "Wait.. wha? You're joking, right?"

I totally love Posi as a designer and lead designer. But he was never the lore master and he makes mistakes. All the writers do, they're only human. Like the old debate over Ms. Liberty's name or making the mistake of linking Dominatrix with Tyrant carnally.

Awww... isn't that cute. The Devs are designing sets specifically for Repeat Offenders to use!

That's not how science works. The Wright brothers demonstrated their prototype for others to see. This guy hasn't. There were other fixed wing prototypes and gliders all competing to be successful with heavier than air fixed wing flight. It wasn't thought of as being that crazy an idea.

Science at the level of creating warp fields, if such things existed, is not done by stringing together a bunch of electromagnets in your garage. It's done with high level math and engineering and publishing papers.

There's no papers, no math, no prototypes that anyone has gotten to see or test. Some blogger repeating his claims without doing an ounce of investigative work is not a witness. It's as real as some blogger reporting that some cat lady can psychically communicate with her cats.

He is 100% out of touch with reality.

The Vindicators are the junior Phalanxers made up of their mentees (i.e., sidekicks). According to the CoH Comic Books, BAB is an older man (his heyday was in the 70's fighting drugs on the street) who was once the mentor of Manticore, so, he's nobody's sidekick.

This whole thing can be easily wrapped up by picking up where the comic books left off: That by virtue of being a member of the Surviving Eight and having recently come out of retirement and working closely with the Freedom Phalanx he made official what everyone thought: he's a member of the Freedom Phalanx, even if just an adjunct or honorary member.
  20. After you complete the Underground Trial, Prometheus has more to say about the situation, namely:

    1. Yes, Cole convinced Hamidon to give humanity a chance. It's not explained what that meant. Nor does it excuse many of the excesses of the crazy Praetors in order to whip humanity into passing a Hami run costume contest.

    2. Primal Earth was going to upset Cole's plans in Praetoria (he assumed), so, he planned to blitz Primal Earth and show Hami he's in charge.

    3. Since the blitz didn't work, Hami is irrevocably convinced that humanity is irrevocably worthless and is set on irrevocably destroying humanity.

    4. The Well is still indeed using Cole as it's champion and the two are probably interlinked. Champion against what? The Battalion which decimated the Kheldians, sent Shivans as scouts, and is the Coming Storm.
  21. I've noticed that updaters for the Beta and Test servers do not have the robustness of the updater for the Live servers. When the Beta and Test servers get hit will lots of players up to a certain point, they use up all spare cycles and then each new person pinging it reduces its efficiency.
