  1. I Like both Tribal and Medieval.

With the Magic pack still somewhat fresh, perhaps Magicians/Shaman/Enchantresses?

I'd be interested in joining, by the by :P
  2. Hey Hey

Feist, Lvl 50 Force Field/Psionic Defender, at your service
  3. I you need a Force Field defender, give me a message ingame, Nine

Havn't been PvPing after i13, so havn't had any dropped. Sorry Donna, can't help here.

Although, not getting a response in 6 hours about something of this nature doesn't really warrant an angry bump post, does it? :P

Good luck in getting the answers you're after

People will NOT pvp if all they hear is "it sux, i hate it, i will moan about it".

They also won't PvP if there is grounding to this sentiment

I always thought running the arc with someone else will award you the badge? tho haven't tried it... just assumed.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Back in the old days. The patron powers were bound to your patron's badge. As wabbit said, just 1 out of 4.

That's not the case now, but the badges mutual exclusivity still remains

What server are you on. Can hold onto the inf for you while you log and transfer it to the new one.

My MM is Necro/Dark, btw. An absolute unkillable wall of awesome. Planning to 2nd build her as a tankermind.

If you want the build for *that*, let me know. Tweaked it last night :P

If inspirations were unlimited then i'd agree with you guys but with only 20 available and available to everyone insps are fair game.

If you choose not to patch up your characters weakness then more fool you. When i'm at a store on my blaster i always grab 16 greens and 4 blue as those 2 things are what i lack the most. I don't quickly run to the store and refill when i'm empty and will play without them but if i'm passing a store, i will fill up. It's common sense to strive for survival.

    Everything is affected by DR.

Take my fort for example. about 50% across the board w/Mind Link.

35% defense in RV. From entering.

Defense as a whole, imvho, is only worth pursuing in an arena with pre-i13 settings. If so, your 'fender would be fine.

Sonic/ with tough is okay, but remember that it's a lot harder to cap, as the Res cap (AT depending) is absolutely not 45%, and there're less set bonuses to enhance it with IOs, and none of them are positional
  10. Plus, i'm only up to 24 Months. Cynic's been around for far longer than I have...so perhaps pester him if you want the Trophies or the Flyers?

Footsteps? Lowest denominator tripe? I loved that mission.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You are of course entitled to your own opinion Carni. For me, any 4th wall breaking is an absolute no thanks, from me. Jokes about player made costumes and about XPEES, is about as low as you can get, in terms of ensuring a few giggles from the playerbase.

Not really high end clever canon stuff (such as, Tidebringer)
  13. [ QUOTE ]

You're never going to please everyone and especially not when providing content for a game where accessing the content takes 5 seconds - so people will jump into any old arc even if, had they read the info avaialbe, they'd have known that they probably wouldn't get much from it.

Personally I actually find it a shame and even slightly selfish to have many people enjoying the story (according to Xemula's quote) but to just remove the arcs because of a few less-than-stellar ratings/comments from people who didn't really seem interested in the arc. Pull the arc to put something else up, but pull it just to avoid a few negative ratings when soem people were really enjoying it?

    [/ QUOTE ]

You're right. It was for selfish reasons. I simply didn't want to have to put up with the headaches anymore :P

My skin is very thin, and i'm actually a pretty destructive person when something gets under it. But hey-ho, i've made room for that 1% of fantastically talented weatherable people to slot something in there

MA's a great system, I just don't have the spuds for it. I also can't see anyway to make the ratings system fair.

As (I think) Bovine_Avenger put it. The lowest common denominator tripe is always going to zoom ahead (Footsteps Initiative, Butterfly Effect), leaving the slightly more niche stuff to be pretty much left treading water within the pre-established group of authors. Having to fight so strongly against the current turned out to not be my ideal passtime . I'm still proofreading/testing arcs however...just not writing any

Defence is virtually capped at 45% (1% of Defense = 2% of resistance). At 45% and above, normal mobs still have a roughly 5% chance of hitting you. Doesn't matter if it's 45% or 51%.

It's called soft capping, because there is a 'hard' cap. Somewhere in the 5/6 digit area. (I've been on all SoA teams running 200%+ defense for the whole SF). Nobody is going to achieve that with IOs, and it's not neccessary, because of the 45% 'soft' cap.

Sorry if that's not explained very well.

I've got a FF/Psi that I used to bring into RV for team support. She's all SOs/HOs sadly, was a few eons ago. Can't help you there Donna

Got mine to 41. Wish i'd never played him. The combo is horrific.

However, can copy/paste his build somewhere if you'd like. Stripped him clean of IOs eons ago to fund an MM that works
  16. Large Migration

If any of you want some of the Veteran Reward Base items, just sent me a tell on @Xemulas. Can move an SG-less toon in and claim them for you
  17. Ah, I get ya'.

This tends to be quiet, unless people want to run strike forces or advertise events. At least from what I've seen.

The editor is more for functionality than decorative stuff (in terms of ease of use). I'd have a hunt for any thread, EU or US on 'Stacking', just to show you what I mean when I say the tool is clunky and counter-intuitive. But in general I'd say (perhaps not what you want to hear) that you should experiment and see what you like and what you don't. You can always get the prestige refunded by selling whatever it is you dislike
  18. Hey again TH

Yes, it does seem quiet now and then. Was on my lvl 29 Crab Spider last night and saw your dominator on /sea, was tempted to send you a message, but I presumed you were busy w/SG mates and the like.

Re: Base interiors. Perhaps try the bases section of the base? Failing that, I can put you in contact w/some friends of mine who have done simply amazing things with that terrible interface they call the base editor.

Hmm...something that makes my villains unique? Well, i've had them sketched at Draw the World Together

Here's a taster, my main Xemulas

If it feels a little quiet to you, perhaps you should join a chat channel? I run one for close friends, but am a member to a Defiant Villains one, and we do SFs/Trials/Teams together nightly. It's honestly one of the things that keeps me playing.

anyway, hope you're having fun nonetheless!
  19. Same. Got myself one last year.

Did you manage to get tickets for last weekend then Shadowe? They sold out before I could get the 6 needed for my little group who were so keen on going

Wanted to see Kat Nicholson again

I can't find @Xemulas arc any more... but if it were up I'd nominate that one too. It was very well written.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Oh, I removed it. Was sick and tired of something I do for recreation in my spare time making me so angry (Getting 'feedback' from people saying things like "I don't understand the story lulz, but it's pretty good lol 3 stars, after it getting to around 40 plays and 4 star average, being praised for the story all the while. Just an example).
Pointless for a badger when people of that caliber can lower your average. Anyway!

I nominate: (note, all will be story based, as that's what the MA was for imvho)

A Mythos of Mystical Mysteries (84285)
    By @LordMayhem

    - Marvellously written. Well balanced, a nice solo experience

MAGI and The Blue Knight (12619)
    By @Arctic Princess

-The adherence to ingame canon was well executed, along with the inclusion of the author's own creations and ideas. Worthy of attention

    The Sleeping Star (53951)
    By @Leese

    - An 'ego' arc by any other name can actually smell pretty sweet. The author's own toon's backstory is written so well, that the player could hardly notice. A really enjoyable and technically finished arc.

    Tidebringer (12590)
    By Col. Blitzkrieger

-My favourite arc to date. Exemplary use of canon, and a suitably epic journey. I was speechless at the end, fantastically enjoyable

    Apples of Contention (3184)
    By Blue Rabbit

-To quote myself from City of Guides (i've done comments for all of the above there, btw):

"This is a fantastically written arc, with a clear knowledge and ability to manipulate mythology and folklore. The final AV (mission, in fact) is insanely hard, but the feeling of being victorious over it all is just too good to pass down. Great stuff "

A thousand pardons if this is too many, but I simply can't see myself using the MA again, so consider this my contribution to the Custom Content Gene pool. My only plans for it are to create 2 injoke arcs. One to a task force between close friends, and the other to a friend's newborn baby going on a Rampage in Paragon.
