Quote:That makes two!Hi joe, my mains all have a sub 20 level build. I like to exemp.
Now you've meet someone, me.
And since the exemplar level is 20, you have access to your powers up to level 25.
I found the arcs to be trivially easy for my 50 to do, even on the non-exemplar build.
BTW, tons of people like to do the TFs at all levels on their mains. When the new Posi I and II came out, there were *lots* of exemplaring down to level 14 and 15.
If you respec your build at level 50, you should take power choices in the order best suited for exemplaring and you shouldn't have any problems. Obviously, if in a level 50 respec, you don't take any travel powers until you're 40... that will haunt you when you exemplar. -
Quote:That is really weird. An explanation would be nice but I doubt you'll get one.Quote:This is worth a serious response. Wish I had something to contribute, besides a request that this topic not be trolled.
We need a congressional hearing and a written response from the President of Korea. -
Quote:Yeah... but they change to Rikti at 30, thus ruining a plotline for those doing it at low levels and making vague references to "Masters" rather dumb if their Rikti saying those lines. Not true, lost sort of scale to 50 as you'll know if you do close to max level lost missions at +diff.
It's not level 50, big deal. -
Quote:I kinda think they *do* and they put in a double ??? purposely to throw off those who would use demorecord to snoop. But hey, it's not MY fault there's virtually nobody left at Paragon who knows how demofiles work! I should go down there and teach a seminar.

Feedback:
Alastor and Theoden show up on the mini-map as a trainer and not a contact.
Alastor does not show up in active contacts.
Text for contact should give level and number of players parameters.
Nothing 'happened' when the cavern 'collapsed'. No damage. No awesome rock falling animation. Just a mission kick.
Part of second map (Stop the Igneous from stealing the Obelisk) has unavailable map parts.
Upon entering the missions, they don't auto-load; you have to click Enter Game. I suppose it's so we can see the awesome art. Hate that! Too many times I sat there and started to wonder why it wasn't loading. ARGH! Get rid of that, please.
With the exception to the Igneous who are immune to the effects of lava, any map that had lava made foe-fights trivial by simply hovering over the lava and watching them die. Going to have to give the foes flight or -fly powers.
Give Kal'Mant flight. He's useless trying to find a path over the broken up terrain to keep up with you.
The bonus merits is actually 10x normal merits, not 5x.
Neat stuff:
When you find the exit (look left) you go into another map. Villainside, there is a chest with this clue...
The Cult of Eyes: You found some scrolls in a treasure chest within Oranbega. Most of them seemed fairly old, detailing ancient enemies of the Oranbegans. One, however, was new, as if it had been scribed a few days ago. It detailed a cult whose followers have 'eyes to look to the beyond' and that 'they are to be considered eternal enemies to the Oranbegans'. There isn't much information regarding the cult, and unfortunately it doesn't seem like this cult had much to do with the current happenings.
Heroside it's just Alastor and Echidna running out. -
Quote:Not really. He said it wasn't aimed at a specific playstyle, e.g., +4/x8, or at MA farms. It's aimed at whenever and wherever there is an inordinate rate of rewards, which could very well be on a +4/x8 arc where the players are leveraging certain mechanics for inordinate gain.Actually from what Zwill stated Marty was NEVER aimed at the +4/x8 mobs, which is why this new change to rezzing mobs (put aside how useful it will or won't be) was put in.
I never understood why everyone was saying Marty would be stopping +4/x8 farming, when Zwill specifically stated in more ways than one it wouldn't.
In fact I recall hims stating to send in BUG REPORTS if Marty kicked in in those situations.
For a random group of toons playing very efficiently at a Dev-created arc at +4/x8, MARTy would not ordinarily kick in. But on certain maps, or with certain synergistic powers (e.g., Repeat Offenders), or with a bug/exploit, then a +4/x8 Dev-create map could possibly bump into MARTy. -
Commands for showing or hiding the Store or Reward buttons.
/optionset StoreAccessButton 1
/optionset LoyaltyTreeAccessButton 1
The number 1 turns it on, 0 turns it off. You can put these in a bind, macro, or popmenu. Or save your options in toto with the /optionsave and /optionload which saves to a default options.txt file in you main CoH directory. This allows you to easily copy over the option to new characters.

The sun comes up, I think about Mids.
The coffee cup, I think about Mids
I want you soooo.... it's like I'm losing my mind. -
Only the Ascension Armor is level 50 because it's gated by Incarnate content.

Quote:Sorry, Devs, wrong move.Mission Architect
- Custom Critters within Mission Architect which are capable of self-revival will give no rewards when they are defeated for the second and subsequent times. The powers still contribute to the calculation of their custom XP values.
At +1/x4, enough foes spawn in an 'ambush farm' with rezzers to hit the Ticket cap. With this new brake, all one has to do is set the mission for +1/x8, or +2/x5, or some combination to make up for lack of rezzers.
This is what MARTy was for... so you wouldn't have to muck up the mechanics for regular play. Now valid arcs with rezzers are going to be seen as punishment because of their lowered rewards.
Please take this out and screw down MARTy a bit tighter in the MA. -
Quote:Get over it, Venture. This is comic-book world where no one dies except when the plot calls for it and then they're hardly ever really dead. You can't knock someone out with a flame thrower. For a literature snob, you seem to lack the capacity to understand that different genres operate by different rules. And your real world science just doesn't work here. Unless you want to explain how we can fly.Not an excuse. He's using a live-fire scenario to "test" the Shining Stars. It's sheer luck (authorial fiat) that no one got their head blown off or otherwise hit in a way that prevented Medicom from kicking in.
Our 'live fire' is non-lethal, else we'd be murdering muggers all the time. And the medicom never fails unless the plot calls for it. The end. -
I've posted in Beta, too, that:
1. The order of claiming Blackwand/Nemesis Staff with the origin boost and without is backwards.
2. The 'claim no reward' button is a horrible, horrible thing because most people would think of it like a cancel button as in 'claim no reward *now*', but instead, clicking on 'claim no reward' removes that reward from ever being claimed. Really Bad Idea. A 'cancel-choose later' button is much needed instead. -
I have yet to hear from any 'collector' on the forums throughout the years saying that a release of Slide through some other means would destroy the value of the unopened box sitting on their shelf.

Quote:Apart from what Basilisk said the only indirect way to have exact "canon" outfits is to make use of the temp NPC costume powers. These were first introduced during the Halloween events but many of them are now purchasable via the Paragon Market.
Beyond that I have the feeling the Devs don't really want to encourage us towards making exact clones of in-game outfits.Quote:I thought they devs intended to port many on the new enemy costumes to players; for instance, we've recently been given the IDF armor. I believe they also mentioned making the new CoT pieces available at some point.
The first reason is being dealt with by making new and revised NPC groups use the PC rig. This allows costume pieces to be (mostly) interchangeable between NPCs and PCs. This is really, in the end, less work for them. By dressing NPCs with PC-rig pieces, they can release the pieces as 'new content.' And now, as a new revenue stream.
The second reason (philosophical) has hopefully gone by the wayside from our constant reminder to them that the concern over pretending to be a NPC in a PvP fight was a horse out of the barn argument. Even without special NPC costume pieces, many of the NPCs could already be easily duped. Not to mention the temp costume power making us look *exactly* like an NPC. Or the VEAT costuming. This philosophical reason was just flat out stupid given the fact that what it was trying to stop was already in place. Also, PvP-lol. -
Quote:This infinite loop is appearing sporadically in a number of places. And the relog trick almost always fixes it as a work-around.There is a mission on the positron tf part 1 where you have to enter a building to stop the Vahz. Its the one with the Facemaker. I know if you have someone to drop from the team before this mission starts you will get caught in an infinite loop that causes you to have to keep repeating this mission over and over again when you call the contact. I put in a petition but the gms did not come in time. The way we resolved it is by having players to log off and back on. Whats so funny about this is we had people on the team accusing the time manipulation characters of causing this time loop.

Quote:And the other Prestige Sprints and Arachnos Helms were advertised as 'exclusive.' But they were released through other channels because there was no promise of exclusivity in perpetuity. This seems like the most obvious answer.
It's a collector's edition. Releasing the things that make it unique would result in it no longer being a collector's item, resulting in all those that bought it as such being very very upset. Doesn't matter if it is 'actually' collectible, all that matters is that it was advertised as such.
Likewise, there was no promise with the CEs that there would be no rereleases or 'second runs' as often happens in the collectibles field.
And it *does* matter that the serial code isn't 'actually' collectible. If it's not collectible, then it is not a collectible. By definition. Saying it "doesn't matter" is based on what logic? Doesn't matter... to you as a matter of opinion?
If the Devs want to make the CE Slide unique, then they can create a new slide with a different accompanying (or no) aura. There is no real obstacle to Slide being released as long as it is paid for like the CEs were paid for. -
Quote:Have you (re)claimed your Vet/Paragon Rewards through email on the character yet?I had City Traveler before Issue 21, so i could take a travel power at level 6 if I wanted to. I can take them at 4 now, as intended. But with my other account that doesn't have City Traveler, when I picked Fly at level 4, it didn't appear in my tray, and I couldn't add it from my Powers window. Other people were mentioning having that same problem, which is why I happened to try it tonight.
I thought perhaps zoning would fix it, and it did. I went from Atlas to Kings Row and the Fly icon appeared in my tray. -
Dillo is injured and can't fight until reinflated. I'm going to go with alien.

I use FFvB to ignore threads. This way, I can more easily scan the New Posts lists. Any threads that I'm not interested in get put in ignore and thus they don't clutter up new searches. I use the highlight function to highlight certain posters so that the threads they start stick out... so, depending on the subject line, I can pre-emptively ignore that thread without even opening it up.

Quote:I use the portable version of FF3 to peruse the forums so that FFvB still works (FFvB is broke with higher levels of FF, and changing the compatibility line doesn't fix that). And Lazarus works with FF3, too.Curse you ZM. Now I have a new add-on to search for. Hopefully I can find a version of it that works on FF 3.6.x since I plan on staying with it. One of the add-ons I use doesn't work on FF4 and up and they aren't planning on updating it. I don't want to lose it's functionality so I'll stay in the current versions as long as possible.

There are two more Incarnate Trials coming. I wouldn't be surprised if they wrapped up First Ward and the whole Praetorian Invasion arc.
