The most difficult thing about the trial is to coordinate the league. Rularuu isn't difficult, and with all the incarnate powers you don't need nukes. Even before the incarnate powers, if you had a good mix of buffers and DPS you wouldn't have difficulty taking the Aspect down.

Option 6. You shouldn't have lost any badges by switching sides. I've not heard of anyone losing badges by switching sides.
Edit:
Which badges are you missing? The explores (and which ones) or the side content? -
Quote:Start a RWZ raid? If you are going to the raid content, then it shouldn't be an issue to actually participate in said content to get the badge to unlock the beacon. You can access RWZ several ways: AP, FF, PI, Cap, St. Martials, GV. If you are level 50, you can access RWZ via flashback or Pillars of Ice & Flame.I am presently unable to get the teleport beacon for Rikti War Zone because I can't get Unabashed, which is under the shield. This really ought to be accessible at any time, to the best of my recollection no other beacon is locked behind content like this (certainly not raid content).
(*Cough*) Head of the Hydra. (*cough*)Quote:"Getting an exploration badge" does not "require a group." I can completely ignore the raid and, if one's going on, drop in the middle of the mothership and get it. THe exploration badge does not and should not "require a group." A task force requires a group - you can't start one without it. The iTrials require a group.
I bugged it several times during Issue 18 beta. It is also easily bypassed: get a hero or vigilante teleport you behind the door.Quote:You know another thing that doesn't make sense? I was able to get every exploration badge in the game except for one in Atlas Park. The reason? I have to go through the elevator door leading into the Hero-side Recluses Victory portal room and my toon was a Rogue. Access denied.
Before the RWZ revamp (Issue 10), you only needed Ace to get the beacon. Since the change, you've always had to wait for the shields to be down.Quote:I am pretty sure you used to be able to get that badge while the shield was up when it was first released. They changed it so you could not get it unless the shield was down. My memory may be off though.
[Sarcasm] I must not be remembering Issues 18 or 19 betas right. [/Sarcasm]Quote:You remember Grai Matter? That one piece of Incarnate salvage that required doing a MS Raid to get?
Remember how that was added to the Vanguard vendor's list so you could buy it with V-merits instead?
Since the introduction of Gr'ai Matter, they have only been able to be bought on the Vanguard table for vanguard merits. Where are you getting this information from? Certainly not from the game.
By the way, it used to be (in Issue 18 beta) that you could purchase the Alpha Slot unlock with "regular" reward merits, vanguard merits, doing any of the content that gives Alpha Slot components, and I think alignment merits. -
Quote:Yes, I got that. What I'm discounting is that it would be either a simple or quick fix. Additionally, I don't see the need for yet more short cuts to be made as they are not needed. The OP doesn't want the ZONE to work that way. The OP wants AN EXIT to work that way. Like the exit doors in RWZ: Rogues and Vigilantes can use the Paragon OR Rogue Isles exit portals, Heroes can only use the Paragon portal, and Villains can only use the Rogue Isles portal.
I see that you are continuing to assume visible interaction is controlling a mechanic. You do NOT need to talk to the NPC every time you want to use the sub. The reason you talk to the NPC is to give players some information about rules the game imposes for travelling to the other alignment's zones:Quote:Although there's still the submariner in the hero/villain non-co-op zones, capable of opening alignment-locked doors for characters of the appropriate alignments. (NPCs seem to be the most power system in the engine!)
He does NOT control access to the sub after you've been warned once (after you've switched to rogue or vigilante).Quote:So, you want to jump over to the other side? You think you're up for it? You should know a couple things before you head over, namely you're going to abandon any mission or task you're currently working on. Also, when you get over to the other side, you're not going to get any new missions from anyone over there. You'll be able to team up with other players and run their missions, and you still collect any tips as you fight guys on the street. But, you're going to have to become a hero or villain fully to have people truly trust you.
You are making assumptions that have no basis in the game.Quote:Summary: instead of clicking the crystal and getting the zone list, you talk to Tesseract - like you would the submariner, but with the additional step of choosing the zone from among their dialog options. This, like the submariner, enables the "door" [appearance: crystal] so that you can go to the chosen zone.
I'm not denying that individual doors can be alignment locked. The original poster is making assumptions that don't match with the game though. What the original poster is asking for is a zone connection, not a doorway. Both the door to Recluse's Victory and Fort Trident lead to sections on the same map. What the original poster is asking for is the equal of the Paragon Transit Authority to merge with the Black Helicopter Line.Quote:Conclusion: Alignment locks are coded into doors, not zones. Therefore, any entrance to any location anywhere in CoH can be alignment locked.
I think you have not read about the standard code rant. I'm sure that it is far more complex than you or the original poster seem to think it is. -
The rules are:
In the Rogue Isles or Paragon City: All family boss-ranked (or bosses reduced to LT due to difficulty settings) count towards Untouchable.
In the Rogue Isles: All family boss-ranked (or bosses reduced to LT due to difficulty settings) with Marcone in their description or display name ALSO count towards the Gangbuster Badge.
Exceptions to the above:
All family appearing in the infamous Family or Nemesis farm missions (level 40+) DO NOT COUNT.
All Mook bosses also do not count toward any badge. -
Quote:The game's chat logs (combat, defeat, etc). She might be able to work with a herostats file, but not sure. What logs are you all speaking of? Combat logs or Defeat logs?
You can sanitize the logs you send her, but as she is only sending them through a parser, not reading them you may not want to bother. -
Quote:While I understand your reasons, this is one case where we've been told that the zones can't act that way. I'm not speculating on the difficulty. Is it possible to do? Probably. Is it likely to happen? Probably not.The crystals aren't for flashback missions, they'd be zone lists. Aesthetically, since there are multiple crystals in the Ouro zone(s) already, they wouldn't look weird (except for the color). I suppose I should have been clearer, this is just about being able to get around. (For example, a rogue on an older hero TF where suddenly all the heroes are going Ouro to the next zone - the rogue can't do that because they have the villain Ouro!)
I think that is what Black Scorpion meant by having to completely re-write the Ouroborus zone.Quote:If it can be done without carving out new rooms, then the red crystal could be by Mender Tesseract in the hero Ouroboros. Added to her dialog is something like the submariner that allows vigilantes to use the crystal to access the Rogue Isles zone list. The blue crystal is in the villain Ouroboros by Twilight's Son, for rogues to access the Paragon City zone list. That's as long as zone lists are locked if their door is locked, though.
As you've discovered, only the co-op zones (Pocket D, Midnighter Club, RWZ) can do this. As for doing the "same thing seems easy enough", all I have to say is that the standard code rant applies.Quote:And I just found out that's the way the RWZ works! As a rogue I can use the portal to Paragon City, which warns me that I'll be entering the city of heroes before giving me the zone list. So dropping some crystals near Tesseract/Twilight's Son that do the same thing seems easy enough as long as the tech for those doors isn't magically limited to co-op zones; wouldn't even need to talk to them like with the submariner, I think. (Unless that's the work-around for alignment-locked doors in non-co-op zones?) -
Quote:I'm from the Vancouver area, of course I'm cheering for the Canucks.Join with me now to rally our beloved Canucks. The series is tied at two! We are battling for the holy grail...the hardest trophy to win in pro sports...the Stanley Cup! Go Canucks go!

The one disappointing thing I have to say about the series so far is that the officiating has been close to non-existent. If the refs don't get their heads out of their collective behinds and start calling all the penalties that they SHOULD be calling that someone will get hurt worse than Horton. -
My question wondering if there will be more guest authors got the buck-pass to Positron. I think Positron's response in the chat was along the lines of it is something they'd like to do, but no promises.
-
Apparently not anywhere close to enough of a hack.
From developer comments:- The Ouroborus zones are not co-op and can't be co-op without developer/gm cheats or a complete remake. This will not be happening soon, if at all.
- The contact system has certain assumptions built in for alignment.
- The mission system has certain assumptions built in for alignment.
- The flashback system has certain assumptions built in for access.
Putting red/blue crystals in Pocket D wouldn't work for rogues trying to do blueside missions or the reverse until the contact, mission, and flashback system are fixed. -

But... but... this week is E3 coverage...

Quote:Go to Recluse's Victory and get any explore badge. You will be instantly awarded the Trusted With the Secret Badge & Ouroborus Portal. Is there a way to transfer toons, because I don't have to obo portal
Yeah. They are called Astral Christy and Empyrean Michael.Quote:Does anyone know where the NPCs that give you Merits went to? I don't see them on red side Ouroboros. =/
Edit - oh fudge. I imagine I'm on the wrong server. Heading to Beta now!
Edit:
Here is a steampunk incarnate:

Sadly, I don't have the steampunk pack yet. -
No, the game doesn't allow distinction of the left and right versions of shift, control, or alt keys to be used as chord keys.

Quote:It took me 2 days to get a challenge reset via the email support, and that was mid-week.Seriously though, how long should I expect it to take for them to reset the "challange" information from the newly implemented (and utterly nonsensical) Authorized Computer Security thingy. I'd really like to give you money today. (And normally, I'd simply ask support but there's been no response to ticket, petition, email, or tweet for several hours.)
-
Not without a 3rd party program that emulates a mouse click.
-
That doesn't always reset it, but petitions of this type are generally fixed in less than 30 minutes. This has been a problem since at least Issue 8, if not all the way back to Issue 6.
-
I'd say there is a character bug.

Quote:Hey, I've had a busy day and couldn't make it on... Otherwise those numbers would be higher (couple more BAFs/Lambdas/ITFs/Kals - each).I'm not noticing a difference at all. Since I've been on today I've seen the following be formed:
3 BaFs
2 Lambda
2 Stfs
1 Rsf
Few Sutters
2 Morty's
Lusca hunt team (doesn't really count, but still :P)
2 Itfs
I've been soloing on my new traps corr, and jumped on the 2 morts.
Not the busiest day, but I've seen worse. It'll pick up again when 20.5 is released (assuming sometime this month) then die back down a bit, yet again, until 21 :P
Darn real life getting in the way of things. -
Quote:When they made the changes to hyperlink most text, all the color, bordercolor, and bgcolor commands failed. They haven't been fixed since to my knowledge.I'm trying to change an old bind that I used to use to make my chat background transparent. After reading the forums for 30 minutes (and trying out numerous combinations), nothing works. I am using the following:
/bind enter beginchat <color red><bordercolor pink><bgcolor #ffffff00>

Quote:From one of the programmers:
The new SMF code converts < and > to < and > (which show as < and > in displayed text but don't get recognised as meaning 'this is a tag' internally in order to stop players from breaking other people's clients with bad tags or whatever. Unfortunately this means the text colouring doesn't work any more. Probably needs a better solution but not a high priority until the start of next year. -

Quote:Re-read the link you were given:Whyso?Quote:I don't think what you are trying to do is possible with the popmenu system.
Anyway, I've tried making a workaround, where the popmenu calls a bindloadfile that contains the targeting info - except nothing happens, again. I get a message that the file has been loaded, but no binding takes place. If I run the bindloadfile manually, then it works fine. The bind file is in the data folder, if that's a factor.
Read the highlighted portion. Now here is the workaround:Quote:While you can't use /bind, /bindload, or /bindloadfile in a /popmenu directly, there is a workaround that I use:
The Popmenu System isn't designed to do what you want it to do.Quote:Option "&L Load Binds" "beginchat /bindloadfile C:\Binds\.txt"
Then, all I have to do is press my Left Arrow Key 4 times, so that it's between the \ and the ., type in the name of the bind file I want to load, and press Enter.
This might work:
Option "Turn" "beginchat /bind LEFTARROW +turnleft$$bind RIGHTARROW +turnright"
Option "Maneuver" "beginchat /bind LEFTARROW +left$$bind RIGHTARROW +right"
I've found, however, that having a /popmenu place text into the chat window, it seems you have to press Enter twice. The first press won't do anything. It's weird. -

Quote:I don't think what you are trying to do is possible with the popmenu system.Gotta question {and it beats starting a new thread}. I'm trying to set up a popmenu that will bind a key to target mobs in a descending order of priority - bosses, lous, emanators, etc. Here's the menu code I've tried it out with; However, when I activate it, I just get bind "g" "" in my error channel, with no binding actually taking place. Am I messing up the syntax somewhere?Code:
Menu "Targeting" { Title "Custom targeting" Option Hellions bind g "targetcustomnext enemy alive Damned$$targetcustomnext enemy alive Girlfriend$$targetcustomnext enemy alive Fallen$$targetcustomnext enemy alive Blood" Option Skuls bind g "targetcustomnext enemy alive Daddy$$targetcustomnext enemy alive Death$$targetcustomnext enemy alive Gravedigger" }
