*puts hand up* I actually like the Underground Strangely enough though, DW, Z, Stase and myself have all novels in London, though at differing times.
[/ QUOTE ]
I like it sometimes, sometimes though, sometimes it's Hell under Earth.
Not sure what direction to take my story in, actually... it can go a number of ways, into paranormal fantasy, or something more mundane and inwards looking. -
My first 2 paragraphs from my story are indeed up, titled Everybody's Changing after the song by Keane.
-
Hmm, anyone in London know what the announcement is for pulling into Liverpool Street Station via Central line?
The first line of my novel is
"The next station is Liverpool Street. Changes here for the Circle, Bakerloo and Hammersmith and City lines, and National Rail Services."
To think I just heard it 2 days ago and forgot... :< -
Well, I signed up as Zortel, but between college work and GM work, I doubt I'll be able to pump out much wordage. :<
Unless this stupid write up of an experiment into Milgram's Agency Theory counts... -
It. Was. A. Joke.
Possibly an example of how powerful word of mouth is. Someone says that Sirens Call will be have PVP turned off for RP'ers for a time period of one night a week and people are up in arms, even though there is no offical word or announcement.
And yes, it was so very, very funny. My sides were almost splitting at some of the vitriol and fuming directed at RP'ers on the Arena channel. Wait, one of my sides did split! Medic! Seamstress! -
"What's your book called?"
"Umm... The Day After Yesterday."
"You mean... today?"
"..." -
Hmm, could try this... could try indeed... using my 4w350m3 MSPaint skills and doodles.
-
I'd rather read Anne Rice than Dan Brown.
*shudder*
I feel all dirty and tainted now... -
That's a wedgie and a half.
I'd enter, but short stories are more my thing, not hulking big 50k word behemoths. -
I think Dante means that he hasn't played 15 months, thus won't be able to recieve the reward yet.

((Okay, from looking through this thread, I can see why it ground to a halt.
One: There was no posting order whatsoever, meaning the flow of time skewed and hard to follow. When people can post in any order they want, it gets really, really hard to follow.
Two: Without such an order, players who can't post as often (Say, people at work who can't access the forums during the daytime) often get left in the wayside.
And this relates to a point that Hoplite made, Forum RP is typically slower than tabletop or messenging RP (though not as slow as play by e-mail!). Therefore, patience is a needed virtue for such a way of playing.
Plus, a GM for the RP is usually needed to clear things up and unify NPC's, and it's an involving, busy job, one that you've said you're too busy to run it yourself.)) -

However, I find it very funny that sometimes you can spot immediately if a female char is a used by a male just by looking at the costume... No woman would have such a bad taste for clothings as some female characters in the game have!
[/ QUOTE ]
Ah, gender stereotypes. If that was true, why do we have Trinny and Susanah, and all those makeover shows dealing with womens bad style choices?
Some people have style, some don't, and said style can vary greatly between cultures and subcultures. -

*Phones Bob Geldof to arrange Ben Aid* -
I play anything. Males, females, robots, plantgirls, girl-cats, suits of animated armour, transgender characters, assexual characters and girls who are boys who like boys to be girls who do boys like they're girls who do girls like they're boys.
Sorry, couldn't resist breaking into song there.
I don't really see much of a difference between the male and female gender, which might explain why I find it easy to play both convincingly. Most of my characters are female, but that's mostly due to dislike of the running animation in males and costumes/scaling not looking as nice. -
1: I think they'd have 'Super-Olympics'. And now for the 500 yard hurdle...
2: In this day and age, equal rights, and I think Empaths would be snatched up by hospitals for treatment where normal therepy fails and things like that. -
Looking at the end of your build, I personally would swap it around to try and get Power Boost as early as possible, 47 I think. When you're in that final stretch, anything to help you lock down mobs longer is a good thing. I find Crushing Field to be a little useless early on, and normally take Siphon Speed at 10 instead of later on.
Wormhole I've seen kill more Grav Controllers than anything else, seeing as it seems the mobs all get a free shot off before the disorient kick in, or before being teleported become aware. Might be something to keep an eye on.
You have 4 damages slotted in Singularity, and 2 intangability enhancements for some reason. 1 Acc, 3 damage and 2 hold, or 3 damage 3 hold is what I'm leaning more towards.
You have 4 recharge in Fulcrum Shift, that 4th one doesn't provide that much less recharge speed.
I tend to prefer Crush Level 1, Grav Distortion Level 2, Lift 4 to get a nice little one two chain running.
Without the Fitness Pool and with Hasten later on, you might find Transference good for all your endurance needs, giving you 2 more powers to choose from.
Also noticed Lift has 4 Damage enhancements. ED means that 3 is the optimal amount and any over have reduced effect, so it's something to bear in mind.
Increase Density is more useful as a Mez breaker than providing extra resistance, and due to its short lifespan will mean you would be reapplying loads, so dropping the Res enhancements and sticking a EndRed or RecRed in there may be wise. -
Aye, I often RP CoH stuff on MSN, AIM or IRC. I find the freedom to play NPC's, the lack of a visual-action conflict when trying to do some tasks, the more freedom with area descriptions much more immersive.
Heck, there's even Ultimate Galaxy Girl, run on an IRC server which is like a Marvel Ultimate series version of Paragon City.
But yes, I know many and have myself played things out over MSN and other forms of online chat program. Sometimes if someone's at work or on a PC that can't play, doing something else, lots of reasons. Plus its a little easier to log. -
Great work there Swissy! He's gonna be bouncing around all day tomorrow now!

Zortel is the suit of power, the pilot has changed various times. As such, it's my most tweaked and power-centered build for an RP character, as the suit would be tuned and adjusted to perform optimally. Blapless (Apart from the first power) En/En/Force Blaster.
Fusebox is a concept build, as she has every single Elec/Elec/Elec power (or will when she's a higher level), AS and Flight. Juan Ross would be better suited as a Dominator than a Controller, but sadly can't get that. Number Nine, my Grav/Kin controller is getting Teleport purely for concept. -
Aye, what FFM said. Kheldians are energy-based life forms able to bond with material life forms as a symbiote/parasite (in the case of Nictus trying forced possession, a la Moonfire Task Force and one of the Kheldian Story Arcs.)
-
Plus point for Sonic/Dev, I've noticed Sonic suffers from Accuracy penalties, so Targetting Drone will really help out with that.
-
Actually, 4, they invaded 23rd May 2002.
-
Not major current news events, but minor things, yes. My characters talk about the latest comic they've read, film they've seen, et cetra.

Very good sense of masse/depth.
[/ QUOTE ] Thanks, sadly when it comes to buildings and objects I can't draw those that well.

I can't see any trace of construction lines and I think that's why you lost the sense of proportions (back leg and arm)
[/ QUOTE ] I use 2 sheets of paper, one with a rough frame on, then lay the other piece over and draw like that so I then don't have to get rid of the lines. But its been quite a while since I learned the right shapes and length so that might account.
[ QUOTE ]
I like the torso/ribcage as they seem quite accurate.
[/ QUOTE ] I don't spend too much time looking at torsos and ribcages, honest.

Last thing that jumps at my eye is the pencil strokes. Very stagered. Maybe try loosening up your wrist a little
[/ QUOTE ] Always a problem I've had, I hold the pencil in an odd fashion too, quite close to the point. Old habbits die hard.
Thanks for the pointers! -
Seeing as art seems to be the new thing on the Creative forum at the moment, I thought we could do with a post where us artistically challenged people can post their practice artwork for others to see, comment and critique (Constructively!) without clogging the forum with many new topics about it.
I have a confession to make, I used to do art, and kind of stopped for 4 years, and now have no talent whatsoever. :< So I spent about half an hour today doing a rough little basic drawing of my main character, Zortel. When I say rough and basic, I mean it.
Avert ye eyes, lest ye be blinded!
Note that I wasn't actually -looking- at my character at the time, but going from memory. Probably a mistake there, but was too busy with other things on my PC to load up CoH.
