  1. I think one of the purposes of toggles not being auto is that not only do you have to make some consideration for the endurance cost, but also to make things like sappers dangerous. I can tell you now that if my brutes didn't have to worry about toggle dropping then my strategy when fighting malta would alter drastically.

I remember reading a post from Arcanaville a while back when she made a very convincing argument that in many powersets the auto powers should actually be stronger and the toggles weaker, in order to make taking and using the toggles an active decision rather than something you have to do.

It just surprised me because I'm the exact opposite, I try to use the mouse as little as possible. I often wish there was a way I could activate mission doors with a keyboard command instead of having to use the mouse. I have 1-0 bound to tray 1, f1-f10 bound to tray 2, and the numpad bound to movement, jumping, camera tilt, and travel power. For me the mouse is just for mission doors, inspirations, powers that need a click (like caltrops), and powers I don't use frequently (like reveal).

I think this is a carryover from back when I played Asheron's Call 2, that game had a "use" key that would perform the default action for whatever you had selected. If you had a corpse selected it would loot, if you had a portal selected it would send you through it.

  4. Well, water blast is officially on beta now and it's a beast. It's got the 3 standard single target attacks, but they're all 80ft range. It's also got a single target attack/heal over time, similar to life drain, also with an 80ft range. So that makes a 4 attacks available for a single target attack chain. On top of that it has a cone attack, a targetted aoe, a crashless nuke that's also a targetted aoe, plus a location damage skill like rain of fire. The animations are pretty smooth and fast as well for the most part.

My guess is it will be nerfed some before it makes it live, but even then it will probably be one of the top, if not the top, ranged attack set.
  5. This weekend was pretty slow for Strike Force Sundays as we were competing with several other events that happened to be forming at the same time. Still, we had enough to run both the 2nd Treespec and Ice Mistral and we showed Thorn Isle who's boss!

Next up on the List is the Imperious Strike Force! It's level 35+ and requires access to the midnight club, which is very easy to get now with Night Ward added (just get the exploration badge in the Night Ward mansion). So meet up in ancient rome next Sunday, June 10th at 5pm PDT/8pm EDT!

So to recap, if you live in paragon city you should invest in construction companies and brass, got it.
  7. BP masks and Totems both make mechanical sounds. I have bugged this several times over the years and mentioned it in the forums a few times, I've even asked about it in chat on the beta server when a dev was on answering questions. I have never seen a dev response about this issue.

I kinda see Hybrid as the "Snipe" of the incarnate powerset, which is why I haven't bothered to unlock it on any of my incarnates yet. Why bore myself farming magisterium over and over just to unlock a skill I don't really care about?

I honestly didn't realize there was anyone that used mouse clicks to activate all their powers rather than the keyboard. Color me surprised. In that case I can see how the tray can be very useful for some people. I still want to be able to turn it off though.

Just out of curiosity how did you end up setting it up so it would be useful?

The problem for new Khelds is that by default that power tray has no keys bound to it, so the only way to activate skills from there is to click them, which is awkward during combat. Sure they could go into the keybind settings and assign keys to the tray, but the question is what keys do you bind to that tray to make it useful? Also the tray is listed as "Server Tray" so it may be tricky for people to figure it out at first. All said, it's not actually that much harder to learn about tray swapping macros/binds.

If you want more of a gloomy feel to your zones why not roll a villain? We've got plenty of gloom to spare.

Nice to see more details on radiation armor, I'm really looking forward to some more armor powersets!

  16. Thin pickings for the Ouro SFs, we ended up duo-ing Tesseract and trio-ing Lazarus. Even so, we got through both with no deaths and well under an hour!

Next up on the List is the 2nd Treespec, and since that's usually quick we'll probably run an Ice Mistral as well. So if you want to repeatedly visit thorn isle, meet up this Sunday, June 3rd, at 5pm PDT/8pm EDT!
  17. Who knows, maybe water blast will have good AoE and ST damage as well as some decent mitigation. Then we'll have a "Is there a point to anything but water?" thread.

My guess is that the lack of nerdrage is because many have simply given up. I know that's why I don't get worked up about it anymore. I've accepted that AE is mainly a farming tool with some limited RP applications and that's the most it'll probably ever be.

And it gets worse when we search everywhere and simply can't locate our missing guard and find ourselves either contacting a GM or startng the mission over completely.
It would be nice if they could adjust it so that special enemies will never run, like the guards in your example or named bosses, and especially giant monsters. It's just plain silly when I try to solo scrapyard with my level 30 corruptor and he runs away.

Yep, made him a rogue back in december I think, for kheld fridays.

With that special -KB enhancement from the summer thing maybe I'll consider making a PB again... nah, I'd need the ability to slot at least 2 or 3 of them before I could have fun with a peacebringer.

If they made an option to resize that part of the window and sold it in the paragon market for 5000 points I would likely still buy it.

Next up on the List is our mid-level Ouroboros double-header, consisting of the Mender Tesseract(level 25+) and Mender Lazarus(level 30+) strike forces. So if you want an evening of politics, Rogue Isles style and Nazi in-fighting, meet up in Villain Ouroboros next Sunday, May 27th at 5pm PDT/8pm EDT!
  24. Is this where I lodge a complaint about the TwoHeadedBoy Market? I would like a refund of 10 inf because the "Super Happy Funtime Power Item" I purchased wasn't as fun as advertised. In fact it was just a small yellow inspiration. While I understand that "fun" is subjective I believe it's in the best interest of your long-term business plan to foster a loyal customer base, and a refund and more detailed descriptions of your products would go a long way towards this. Thank you for your time.
