  1. We can stop debating when I13 is going to be out now :-P
  2. [ QUOTE ]
Because they've finalised the final release and want the release notes checked. Very close and tomorrow are not the same thing. I'd be happy if it was tomorrow. I'm also not holding my breath.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes, but generally Issues have been released on Tuesdays. If it isn't this week (and the interview with Positron suggests that it is), that would mean that they'd need a whole week just to polish the notes. If they stick to the traditional release day, "this week" means Tuesday a.k.a. tomorrow.
  3. [ QUOTE ]
I wasn't asking us to find the "third post by Lighthouse" in the thread that was being pointed to. Which is why I queried it.

The Ex Libris post means nothing.

The Positron posts mean something, but I'll believe I13 is live when I can log into it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, I didn't see the Lighthouse reference (post you replied to was edited before I read it), but why would Ex Libris post a draft of the final patch notes for people to find errors in if I13 wasn't very, very close?
  4. [ QUOTE ]
Lighthouse has no posts in that thread. Perhaps if you just cut and pasted the text you want us to go ZOMG over?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Where have you been? Lighthouse left a few weeks ago. Ex Libris posted the draft notes last week (see a post by me earlier in this thread).

Anyway, over on the US boards there's talk about two interviews with Positron where he mentioned that I13 will go live this week.
  5. [ QUOTE ]
I have the most lag in Faultline for some reason.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Likewise. My guess is it's because they re-did that zone, and used the higher quality textures and/or higher polygon count (not sure which) they used for Rogue Isles where I also lag more than most CoH zones (Faultline excluded).
  6. GhostRaptor was supposed to be back today but he's been strangley quiet, and so has Palladium. Maybe they are busy translating the update notes into French and German?
  7. [ QUOTE ]
I'd have to say I think next week is slightly more likely, due to the recent holiday period in the US.

    [/ QUOTE ]

If I recall correctly, the devs have said (or if it was Ex Libris - it was on the US boards anyway) that there really isn't much time to change things before it goes live. Add to that the fact that Ex Libris posted a draft of the publish notes last week, for players to spot misstakes in. Then there's Ghost Raptor's vacation last week.

    My money is on tomorrow.
  8. How about a digital version of the CoH card game? Another company in the MMO business has been making card game after card game based on either their MMOs, or licence from TV series etc, and the latest one (launched in late August) seems to have quite a following.
  9. [ QUOTE ]
    Um, yeah, so what?

Next time there's a raid, try flying through them. It's a graphic effect. It does not mean that the walls will be removed and that the shards will all be glued together into a seamless landscape.

I honestly think people don't realise how much effort that would actually be. It isn't just the removing of the zoning mechanics, upgrade of hardware, upgrade to rendering mechanisms, etc. They would have to actually create a huge amount of extra city to fill in the gaps between the Zones.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    *Sigh*

    I'm not arguing anything here

I was merely pointing out that the statement "The war walls are coming down" from a few years back probably was in reference to this (and the link I posted proves it), and not the zone barriers being removed as some people thought/hoped.
  10. Quoting myself here since I found some official word to back my theory up:

Hoping that the "War Walls" would come down, not sure how feasable that would be though or even possible...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Positron mentioned that was a possibility pretty much as soon as he was made lead designer.
That was what 2 or 3 years ago?

    Don't hold your breath.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I always thought that was more in reference to I10 and the Rikti invasions, when the walls are shut off for the duration of a zone attack.

remember an interview with Archon Voss some time back where he said "The war walls are coming down." I was thinking about that just last night, while I was trying to get some cool action flying shots without the walls in the background.

I wish I had a better memory on the rest, though. I'm sure it's still on the internet somewhere.

    [/ QUOTE ]
And they do...whenever the Rikti invade.

  11. One thing that bugs me is that the developers haven't responded at all to the feedback about this. The issue of where people will store all the event salvage is still unresolved. My halloween salvage and candy canes alone would take up over 19 salvage racks with the new limits - and that's more than what a base can support (max is 18 and that includes storage for inspirations and enhancements as well).

Album looks password protected. Anyway, I was the maniac in medieval armor hacking away at the ship with a katana (as shown in a couple of screenshots in this thread).

And sorry for my confusion at first in Atlas - didn't know about the event beforehand and came for elite bosses. Joined in on the attack a bit when I finally realized that wasn't going to happen. Not sure I contributed much, but got some nice screenshots out of it:

  16. About going rogue: Wasn't there a heroic brute or villainous tanker or something like that (controlled by a redname) at the Manticore-Sister Psyche wedding? Sounds like a hint to me.

Also, I think there was some hints in the clues for the mission where you had to get the wedding presents back too (or steal them if you were a villain). Among others, tickets to a space station/moon base?

Sadly i do not know any. mainly cos..well tbh i think its rude just to ask personal things like tht. however i wouldnt be surpised to find out people who are deaf play this game. great thing about this game is u dont have to have sound to enjoy fighting for power or saving peoples lives.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That's true. I play with the volume down a lot myself, since some powersets are just too noisy (psychic blast, sonic attack to name a few). It does make it a bit tricky to locate glowies sometimes though.

Edit: Here's what the text for the badge (before you earn it) says: "Earn 30 bars of Patrol Experience to obtain this badge. (NOTE: Level 50 characters earn this badge by spending time logged off.)"

    [/ QUOTE ]
Well that is quite common sence right?

1 bub is 24 hours, 30 bub 30 days. But your max is 10 bubs, thus you have to get rid of some. But if you clear 5 gain 5 clear 5 gain 5, whatever, you can only earn them by being off for 24h and below the 10 allowed bubs.

You earn a bar when you logged out, you 'spent' it when DXp'ing.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I know that, but some people suggested it doesn't work that way and that there isn't a cap that you have to work off.

To check which theory is right, I just logged in a character that's been copied over and marked as being offline for 12 days. As expected I had 10 bars of patrol xp there, and the progress bar for the Patrol xp badge was at 33.33% (10 bars out of 30) so there *is* a cap for how much progress you can get without doing anything in-game contrary to what some people think:

    [ QUOTE ]
The badge is earned by being logged off for 30 days, regardless of how many bars you of dXP you gain.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Anyway, here's a picture. You'll see there that the patrol xp progress bar is stuck at 1/3, while the one for Monitor Duty (logged out by the base portal) is longer than that (it's at 42.39%), clearly showing that the character's been logged out for longer than 10 days.
  19. [ QUOTE ]
The feature has nothing to do with the badge. The badge is earned by being logged off for 30 days, regardless of how many bars you of dXP you gain.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The description needs to be changed then. It says it's related to how many bars of patrol xp you gain, except for level 50 characters.

Edit: Here's what the text for the badge (before you earn it) says: "Earn 30 bars of Patrol Experience to obtain this badge. (NOTE: Level 50 characters earn this badge by spending time logged off.)"
  20. [ QUOTE ]
And some of my characters will come preconfigured with the badge for Patrol Time

    [/ QUOTE ]

I doubt that, since (like FFM says) the max you can have at any one time is ten bars. The requirement for the badge by far exceeds that. I'm not 100% sure (not logged in on the training room at the moment), but I think you need 60 bars of it for the badge.

Edit: It's 30 bars of patrol xp, not 60.

I enjoyed taking my lv36 Scrapper through Outbreak. I created her and forgot to complete the tutorial as I played the tanker version instead.

I got through the Contaminated in record time

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hm? I thought the only way to get xp there was through completing the tutorial misisons, and you have to leave before you can train up to level 2.

got some badges, but just on one character since it's never clear where ppl come together to kill an invasion.

Talos, on the Hill by the Green line

    Atlas, around Ms Liberty

Galaxy, the park before Back Alley Brawler, or at GG when there's a group of RPers there.

    Peregrine, Portal Corp logo

Steel Canyon, either at the Uni, or near Positron.

Skyway, often south of Synapse, or right in that little park of his

Kings, below the steps by Blue Steel

Seems that trainers are a popular gathering place, though I doubt Bricks has the that effect and I've no idea of IP, nor the hazzard zones.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Steel Canyon gathering spots seemed to vary a lot. One time it was at the university, then near Postitron, then near the hospital and yet another time it was near Wentworths.
  23. Now that the Halloween event is over, how did everyone do?

Personally, I managed to get the badges for zombie minions and lieutenants on all 16 heroes (solo), and the boss + EB badges on eight of those.

I also managed to get all three costume collection badges on all 16 (though one had Clothes Horse from last year), as well as the ones for zombies, witches and werewolves. Got the badge for vampires on four characters, and spirits on none. Also got the badge for helping bring Eochai down on two heroes, but not Jack, or unseelie.

I also kept partial track of my results for trick or treating. Carried it out in Brickstown on ten level 40 heroes (examplared down to 39 via Ouroboros so I wouldn't outlevel the regular content) up to the point where they had gained the Clothes Horse, Fashionable, Dead Head, Malleus and Shifter badges. The numbers might not be 100% accurate since I might have missed a count here and there, but probably at least 95%.

    Combined, I clicked on 1412 doors. 78.7% (1111) were tricks, 21.3% (301) were treats. I had to deal with 2969 enemies, distributed as follows: 1438 zombies (48.4%), 772 witches (26%), 494 streng (16.6%), 178 werewolves (6%), 59 vampires (2%) and 28 spirits (0.9%)

I also got a decent amount of event salvage, though not all of it was gathered in the experiment mentioned above (some of it came from other characters, and some from the characters in the experiment when I didn't keep track). All in all, I got enough for 64 complete sets, and plenty of extras of some types. 82 Back Alley Brawler gloves, 77 Hamidon costumes, 84 Lord Recluse masks and 64 Statesman masks. That should last me a lifetime I guess since I had 21 sets left over from past years, even after unlocking the 5th slot on all existing heroes and giving a few sets away.

It was a busy couple of weeks...

In a way, the Halloween event ended after the maintenance yesterday, at least half-way.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Given that I was still Trick or Treating yesterday afternoon at least, it was still on for much of the day.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Read my entire post, please . I said it stopped half-way because zombies didn't attack - which gave me time to work on the trick or treat badges.
  25. A zombie attack started just now in Eden too (Defiant). I have no idea who or what triggered it though.
