Looking at myself, I tend to go either Natural of Magic.
AE has made any SO easily sought, but when you need to rely on arbiters and such, it becomes easier to use those two.
Natural because the names make sense (seriously, I *hate* the names attached to Science and Tech) and Magic because.. well to be honest that is a case of laziness..
When I need to go buy SO's from 30-ish up, I tend to do so in RWZ, GV or Cim and Magic Origin always tops the humongous list of SO's in those stores. I hate scrolling -

Good one! Been looking over all these pics, but missed that bit
And new groups to fight is nice. And the work on the praetorians.. whoa.. Wonder how long the entire phalanx gets ridiculed for their cossies, making them have to up their fashion sense as well
With, of course, something special for Ms. Liberty in that.. -
Quote:That was what I thought as well, that somehow they would resemble existing mobs an awful lot. Glad to be wrong here!I like the demons. I was expecting something half-***, like fire imps and CoT demons. The one's we're getting are actually kinda cool.
Here's hoping GR brings in more variety to costume pieces.
As for one pet in various buffstages.. that would be cool as well. If this were the tiny one and weak one, what would the last pet look like?...
I want it more now even..
Shame about the Rikti Pic being fuzzed a bit. Can't make out if it is a picture intended to show updated textures and such or if it's supposed to show off new meshes for the characters, smoothing things a little (fuzzing makes it look smoother anyway..) -

Quote:It was indeed. It will be very similar to CoV, I think - that must have been a huge patch to download and test.
But worth it none the less!
And should I get entrance now, it will be a lot nicer to download as my quality of connection has multiplied by close to 40 since then
Once they start moving to regular test though, I don't think it will be long before the downloads-on-close start happening as well on live servers (first for things like textures and such, later on the rest of the goodies). -
Whenever you drop from heights, that red conning mob will hit or make you think you can get away in time. Which will not happen.
Similarly:
Whenever you drop from heights, the grey level 1 mob will actually overcome the burdens of low accuracy for once and help you out of that last hitpoint...

Quote:Like I said, it was late at the timeI don't think so - from the info we've had so far, it just sounds like you pick an AT and the power sets that AT can use, and then you play in the new low level zone until your moral rating makes you a hero or villain.
It would however be a chance to not only give a chance to create hero dominators and villain defenders, but also proliferate powers more. I love what has been done with earth for dominators and would like to see far more of that to be honest.. -
Oh yes..
The joys of playing the game for the very first time, making a blaster and heading out..
Only to indeed stack Training enhancements for triple the power (and thinking things were very expensive to have to buy 9 of them to 3 slot!)...
To find that Hover is NOT a suitable power to avoid the deadly spawns of mobs in the Hollows, trying to get to the other end of the zone to get to another area (trains? what trains?)...
Wondering why my endurance would drain so fast when I was fighting, thinking that Hover and Fly cost the same...
I'm so glad those days are long gone now -
Quote:^^ thisNo it isn't.
I don't know why people think this, when it has been stated they have "come back to our time". I'm not sure where Ouroboros is, but I'm pretty sure it isn't in the future.
Mender Lazarus is one of the Ouroboreans (is that a word?) that is constantly in conflict with himself about the time he occupies right now. Also, you get not only get tossed forward in time, but back as well (remember being a wee level one again?)
Something I'd like to see as well are indeed more possible shapes and animations and powersets (there's Ice and Energy Blast, that could be concatenated into waterbased powers for instance?) although that would be a lot of work for the next-up issue perhaps. But then I don't know what they have simmering in that cauldron over the fire of course..
One of the things I'm really hoping for though is a larger amount of content for Cimerora. It has always felt like not much more as the entrance hall for ITF.
Make it a place where something can be done like the MS raids of the RWZ, something to make it less dead in the water aside from people gathering for ITF's...
--EDIT--
Which basically also means... Do something about Dark Astoria being dead as it is other than about 8 people killing off Adamastor from time to time.. It's a shame to let that zone die like this. -
Quote:Actually that part (for me anyway) wasn't too hard to explain. It became hell when after that I had to teach him how to tell time the old way. Analog. Then suddenly he realised that there were 12 notches on the clock. And counting along with the seconds he soon learned there were 60 seconds in a minute... That was confusing! Now if we want to start in on real deficiencies in the English Language, lets start talking about our numerical vocabulary and how it impedes the learning of math in young children. That drives me nuts (I'm trying to teach a 1st grader the concept of a 1's value and a 10's value at the present).
But there is more strangeness, such as trying to teach a child that knows the metric system about feet, inches, stone, yards, miles and so on. *I* at times have trouble figuring it all out.. -
Quote:I have met people ingame though who indeed female playing male characters just to AVOID getting whacky questions. There is this misconception that women don't play female characters, so meeting one who does can cause some men's brains to crash and reboot.
My simple reaction to that has always been and will always be that it's a shame that you'd have to go so far. I don't mind either way. There is this one thing I always try and remember and that is to be correct. Correct in the sense that you don't offend people (seriously, what's to gain from verbal abuse in a game?) and that you address them the way they want you to. If I am teamed with female characters, I'll address those players accordingly. Unless they ask me not to. Oh and that has happened once. Can't remember who though, he's in my ignore list now with all the inf-advertisers from way back. He got seriously offensive about it. To me that was a case of 'riiiiight.. /ignore <insertname>... thanks for team guys, I'm not about to get yelled at when I'm trying to have fun, enjoy! <quit team>'
That's the basics of teaming as well to me, it needs to be fun, not work. Work is something I do during the day and where enough grief comes my way, the game is relaxation time for me. -

Didn't someone somewhere utter some threat about mentioning that?
Also, I would LOVE to have more Rikti content, but indeed through portals into their homeworld or something. My son would have a fit anyway once they announce that (when is that coming dad? When is that.. repeat ad nausem lol).
Right now he loves RWZ, but he feels the missions are too repetitive. The invasions are also wearing thin. He won't go out of his way anymore anyway. Unless it's in the zone he's in, it's a bit 'meh' now.
More Rikti (and ones with new powers, outfits, whatnot)! -

I actually came home from work and sat there with an open mouth for a bit when I noticed you had actually went out of your way to make my forumhandle a possible point for gender discrimination :P
I will let you in on a wee secret of mine, it's actually the name I picked because I couldn't think of a name.. I had tried several, only to find they were in use, then went for characters and ran into 'eh... now which one...' because I have both male and female characters. I decided to go with 'eh' to avoid confusion over gender. I kept it neutral. And you just demolished that
But, to go back to what I said that triggered, I didn't mean any offense, it's just something that I thought by now was accepted to happen, in the dutch language genderless words are treated as male as well. Aside from the changes they introduced in overall spelling a few years back though. Then things got more complex with multiple spellings for one word deemed okay, some words that suddenly changed (best example would be pancake going to panscake, and yes the explanation is there, but I never saw the logic to that). It's not just the english language that suffers this, it's all languages everywhere.
Oh and a boat is addressed as female indeed, but apparently only after it's christened. Before that it's an it.. which makes me wonder about something..
How do you ladies in this game address the child in the mother's womb, when you have no idea whether it will be a boy or a girl? Surely not as an 'it'... -
Quote:Actually..EDIT: Although, if the new starting content is set at "neutral", wouldn't that get messed up if you started playing it as a Hero or Villain?
And I'm sure I'm not the first to think of this.. But wouldn't starting neutral also mean you could choose your powers more freely? As in mix vill and hero sets?
It's late, I probably didn't think this through, but the thought of it isn't half bad.. -

Good lord...
I usually don't bother reading entire threads, but this one had more than cake, there was icing. The cold kind.
While mostly everyone keeps a civil tone, I was actually slightly shocked by the way people react to something as trivial as genderselection for sentences. Getting worked up over something this silly, it's really a waste of your time to be honest.
I have always thought the basic principle of the written word was that it would be understood by the reader. If the reader then gets all emotional about being addressed in the document as him while being a her or vice versa.. get over it please. Nearly all the documentation that gets put into manuals address the reader in the male form. Not because the author thought women wouldn't get it, but because it's neutral. I don't mean to be rude by saying this, but the way you ladies have reacted in this thread, you make it sound like you want the word 'mankind' abolished.
On the subject of the OP though, I think most rules have been named, though I'd like to add one more (since everyone is already heavy into grammar):
Use a language people actually understand. Don't try to be cool and abbreviate every single word. It is silly.
Oh and lastly, can't remember who brought it up, I wholeheartedly agree that email at work makes you type long sentences when you can't tell gender from the name you received mail from (been having that a lot lately) hahaha!! -

Quote:Get one of these and you should be fineDunno yet.
In the middle of an ATF audit, how it goes is going to really factor in if I can play or not this weekend.
