What's left?
Animated hair would be interesting to see. Though updating the hair styles with the new textures would also be nice.
5th Column giant robots marching down the streets?
Also, Medieval and ancient Egyptian zones, accessed from the Midnighter Club.
And a "Lost World" zone in the South American jungle.
And an arctic zone - with a "Mountains of Madness" feel to it.
And a mountain zone - maybe the Himalayas.
And an Eastern zone - like China or Japan.
And the Rikti homeworld.

Also, I would LOVE to have more Rikti content, but indeed through portals into their homeworld or something. My son would have a fit anyway once they announce that (when is that coming dad? When is that.. repeat ad nausem lol).
Right now he loves RWZ, but he feels the missions are too repetitive. The invasions are also wearing thin. He won't go out of his way anymore anyway. Unless it's in the zone he's in, it's a bit 'meh' now.
More Rikti (and ones with new powers, outfits, whatnot)!
Still have the Coming Storm to deal with. User base has wanted an epic showdown with the ultimate mastermind, Nemesis, and it seems he might be tied to CS.
There's a lot of interest in tackling some of the great historic events via time travel. Like Brass Monday and Atlas' last stand at Independence Point.
There's several lore supergroups to explore indepth, ala the Midnighters' Club.
Villains still want full access to the Shadow Shard.
There's always hope, no matter how thin, that some of the "broken" things in the game will be "fixed", such as Baumtown, Ruularu and the Cathedral of Pain, and PvP. I'm not saying these won't happen, after all, we got power customization after all the talk of how difficult it would be to pull off.
I'm what you would call an off again/on again player. Most of my characters are on Pinnacle (Insect Woman, Swift Sharp, Dr. Toxyn and Lady Tau). I was playing the game way back when the Issue releases were in the single digits and wondering if they were ever going to get around to the things that the folks on the boards wanted to see.
I decided to re activate my account for the Double XP weekend and to try out the new customization options from I16. Very nice. But I got to thinking. Is there a point when the game can't be updated any further? I mean with Going Rogue coming out soon most of the most wanted options and expansions for CoH/V will have been added. What could possibly be in I17? |
You're really asking a bigger question with:
Optimising, revamping, creating anew.
Like with the raid events in each zone (GMs, Troll Rave party, Steel Canyon fires, Ghost Ship) they went largely un-noticed, one was bugged (Troll Rave) and it was up to players to report findings of any of these events. So they optimised it after the complaints of the Vanguard Red Alert text and events got their own channels; one for heroes, one for villains and with their own color too. Optimising.
Faultline, Rikti Crash Site, Hollows; players avoided them and they were changed to better suit the state of play. Faultline got rebuilt, partially, and its own set of story arcs digging into the forgotten history of the zone. The Crash Site, a zone largely unused due to over-estimation of the playerbase who preffered the instanced content. Got its own arcs and a rather fun zone raid event. Hollows got a touch-up too when players started avoiding the zone for its merciless door placements so it got revamped (well, more optimised but Frosty got a new cutscene out of it).
Cimerora, Ouroboros, Praetoria (soon™); new ventures. A zone with possibilities for time-travel arcs, a zone in the past with similar and different potentials and the main focus of GR. New ventures. Flashback in one, the multi-faceted time-travel elements of another and of course the alternate universe which is the setting for the GR system.
So there's always more possibilities (including the dreaded but inevitable shutdown one day).

I mean they've got to have their own problems with Hero One gone and all...
Tyger (50), Mutation-Controller Mind/FF - oldest Mind/FF on Union
Sitting and waiting, if you think it's worth it.
Well let's see, we have a Rikti technology based zone, a Magic based zone, a Mutant based zone in the Hollows, a Natural zone in Cimerora.
I'd like to see a mad science zone added to the game with all sorts of kooky steampunk machines, and potions bubbling on desks, and electrodes going high into the sky, and weird mutated monster thingys walking around. The more cartoony the better.
Science zone plz!
Also, a zone completely off the wall kinda like "Toon Town" would be awesome. Something completely unrealistic and nonsensical, like Alice's Wonderland.
It's a travesty that as powerful and flexible as our costume creator is, there aren't any costume pieces that'll allow me to get this look. Obviously this needs to be in the next issue.

Can't you do that with a Mini skirt and Thigh High Heel Boots?

I wonder if we'll ever get more zones via the Midnighter Club? I'd be really disappointed if they don't eventually add 1 or 2 other times you can travel to, but even if it's something they'd like to do, I understand that it won't happen before GR, and may not happen for a long while after that... if at all.
Along with Golden Girl's suggestions I'd love to see a Victorian Era zone... maybe involving a battle with a much younger Nemesis, or something else with a Steampunk flavor.
We also need a zone with a flying sky fortress controlled by the sky raiders that we can fly up to and invade. And jump bots that jump.
my lil RWZ Challenge vid
Ancillary Power Pools for villains and Patron Power Pools for heroes.
Actually, I would like to see a zone taking place hundreds of years in the FUTURE.
I'm only ladylike when compared to my sister.
