Quote:IMO Devices stealthing in to lay traps is part of the set's concept, seeing as it has stealth as one of its powers.Am I the only one who looks at the bit about pulling in regards to Trapdoor and thinks 'Devices and Traps aren't going to be useful yet again'.
Yes, I know it's theoretically possible to set them up in the room with trapdoor if you stealth in, but really, you shouldn't have to Stealth anything for a Primary or Secodary to be useful. And unfortunately both Devices and Traps are 'Set up and Pull' sets rather than 'Rush in and unload with everything you have' sets.
It's almost like the Devs don't want these sets to be useful against Trapdoor, let alone against certain other EBs/AVs anymore (or at least that's how it comes off to me).
-Aoide Muse
Traps is a little different, but it's got other powers to help work that guy down. -
For those who were still interested in Fire Blast's numbers in game:
Fire Blast - Average Damage @L50 - 77.34 (64.45 DPA)
Midnight Grasp - Average Damage @L50 - 172.67 (83.42 DPA)
So Mids' is wrong, it's hard to trust it right now anyways. (Like how it says VEATS can take EPPs) -
You're not sure if you're at the softcap?
Type in /toggle combatnumbers
Click on Defense, and you can check there whether you are at the cap.
Also, you can right click on an attribute (for example, melee/ranged/aoe defense) and do monitor, and it will pop up a window you can see on your UI. -
Totally slipped my mind, sorry for not making it.
I ended up waking up after the TF started today.....slept for 12 hrs. (Yeah I went to bed during daylight, haha) -
I could be down for this, seems like fun. I'll bring Infinite Mojo (DM/SD)
-
Ricky Rat is a noob cosplaying a scrapper.
Just kidding. -
There's something you guys need to know about Elimist. He doesn't play scrappers.
With that in mind, continue :-p
Also, I solo'd posi in 1.5 hrs with a SO'd MA/Regen. Get 4 attacks, recon, DP, QR and you're good to go. -
I run a slightly different build, but I'd say the achilles in lotus drops won't benefit you too much, it won't stack with the person your ST attacking and it's a little too random for me on a large mob. I went with maneuvers to give my team some def and also put me at the cap, but I don't have char or hasten (instead I have maneuvers and build up).
How much does hasten benefit you? My ST damage attack chain is just fine (enough to solo the likes of ghost widow) and my AoE is still nice too, although on roughly a 2s longer recharge than yours.
For reference, this is what I run.

I have to say, adding an epic/patron pool to my dark/shield is going to be hella sweet. I'll find the slots somewhere.
-
Quote:1. That's a vague and incomplete summary of what happened in that thread. Most of that thread was people who believe that in the power endgame, SR loses its thunder to Shield, not in most of the rest of the game. And yet there was a recent thread in this forum subsection where posters were complaining that the ability of other sets to Softcap with IOs (most notably /Shield) steals much of /SR's thunder.
2. The forums aren't the rule, moreso the exception. People who come to the scrapper forums are those who want to go that extra distance to make their characters unkillable; but at the same time you see a lot of newer players who are just looking for build advice. -
Before we talking about nerfing the set into the ground (hyperbole, I know!), let's talk about getting Claws/Spines/Katana/Dual Blades working with the set first.
Sure DM/SD is better than DM/SR in a lot of ways, but Spines/SR Claws/SR katana/SR and DB/SR are all better than their shield equivalents by an infinite margin.
Honestly it's been touched on before, but I feel the drawback of the set isn't in numbers, it's in accessibility. -
Hi all, I designed a WP/SS tanker and was wondering if you could give me some feedback.
I'm usually designing Scrapper builds, but Tankers are slightly different so I wanted your critiques. Thanks in advance.

In terms of "Natural Aggro" only brutes and tanks get it.

I'll probably Join ya if I'm available. I'm not available this saturday though.

This server is dead. I was in Dark Astoria and I saw graves but no heroes!

Due to the fix with uniques being enhanced as well as the nerf to blessing of the zephyr, I figured I'd post my current prospective respec build.
A few highlights: 5% less regeneration, 4.3% more HP, slight less accuracy but the defenses are back to being softcapped (lethal with a double stack of DA).
I took out the hecatombs because A) I used them in a different build and B) it puts the E/N defenses over 45%, some rearranging can be done to put them back in but it's not absolutely imperative.

When you're soloing a pylon you shouldn't have AD on auto anyways. DDR doesn't help much against pylons or rikti, so all AD is used for is KB protection and mes resist. You only need it single-stacked if you're doing it properly.
I found the best fodder (which gave me my awesome pylon solo time) to be Communication Officers. Using them, you can freely spam Soul Drain and they will summon portals every so often to refill those that die off.
Just my 2 cents on the matter. Also, as everyone already said, you don't need huge DDR unless you're going up against romans or rads, which is rare. I run about 85-92% double stacked with about a 15 second downtime and it's more than enough for tanking romans. -
Black Lister #1 needs to be me for not playing.
-
And a last tidbit about the soft cap, when you're at the soft cap (45% with no underlying factors) an AV has a 7.5% chance to hit you unlike the regular 5% chance to hit against other mobs.
-
Just to add, GW has twilight grasp and dark regeneration. So at worst she's going to have a 7.5% chance to hit someone in melee range with her with dark regen, adding more people to that mix will increase her odds of getting off her massive heal, and then adding someone without capped defenses will just further increase her chances. Even an elec tanker with 38.5% defense will double her chances of getting her heals off.
Edit: If the wiki is correct, she actually has 3 heals; Life Drain, Dark Regen and Twilight Grasp. Dark regen is just the most talked about because it has the most detrimental effect on fighting her. -
Maybe it's just me, maybe it's because I can't test it out for myself, but ultra mode seems very meh to me.
