  3. Hello fellow gamers!
So,I've decided to make a new tank, and I want to go with Dark Armor and Titan Weapons
for concept reasons. So...I've come to the experts for some advice.

I know DA focuses on Resists, and is very endurance intensive. So I know that I will have to focus on endurance recovery through IOs. Through IO set bonuses, should I focus on increasing me Resists, should I focus on trying to increase my Defense, or a decent mix of the two? I plan on taking Barrier when I become an Incarnate, so should I not even really worry about increasing resists and defenses?
So far, it seems like DA/TW is going to be a fairly tight build.I wanted to fit in Leadership, but don't think I will be able to.

Is Cloak of Fear worth slotting for -To Hit Debuff? I plan on putting a couple of Procs in it. I have ZERO experience with TW,so any help with that would be awesome.

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

Whoops...my apologies....haven't checked this Thread in a while.

If you get the 2 +Def enhancements, the 2 +Resist enhancements, and the 1 + AoE Def ATT enhancement, that alone will bump up your Demons' defense and resists quite nicely. The resists stack with the Demons' Ember Shield. Plus /Time offers -To Hit, +Def, and heals (one of the Demons will help heal also). Between myself,my Epic Power Pool, and the Demon Prince, I think we have like 4 holds, which is awesome.
If I can remember,I'll post my build later. Hope that helps a little....Demons/Time is VERY solid.

    Slotting Demons

I completely forgot about the Impeded Swiftness proc for the Demon Prince...it makes a LOT of sense since almost all of his attacks also slow...

My Demon MM is Demons/Time. Right now I have them slotted like so:
    Demonlings...full set of Blood Mandate
    Demons.. 3 BM (ACC/DAM, ACC/DAM,END, DAM/END) 2 SoulBound Allegiance (DAM, DAM/END) and 1 Golgi (HEAL/END)
Demon Prince.. 5 BM (all but ACC), 1 Endoplasm (ACC/MEZ)
Hell On Earth... the 2 +Resist enhancements, the 2 +Defense enhancements, and the ATO +AoE Defense

After reading, I might have to drop one of the BMs in the Prince and pick up the Impeded Swiftness... /goes and pulls up Mids...

    Slotting Demons

Hi all! I'd like some input on how you slotted your 2nd and 3rd tier Demons, and the reasoning behind it. I don't think I've got mine slotted to maximize everything.

In the First tier pets, Demonlings, I have the ATT that increases AoE Defense, and 5 Blood Mandates.

I've got a Ribosome HO and a Gologi HO in my 2nd tier pets, the Demons, along with 4 of the Blood Mandates.

In my 3rd tier, Demon Prince, I have 1 Endoplasm HO,2 Soulbound Allegiance, and 3 Blood Mandates.

What would the "optimal" slotting be? What have you found?

    Thanks for any input!
  7. My Demon/Time is pretty awesome. I slotted a couple of HO's in Demons to help increase Heal and Resistance, while lowering end cost. I also put both +5% Defense IOs and both 10% IOs in Hellfire, along with the Attuned MM enhancement to increase AoE Defense into my 1st tier pets. All coupled together, it seems to do pretty good.

I am currently leveling a Thugs/FF and a Necro/Thermal. My thinking with the Necro/Thermal is that with the Shields and the 2 +10% Pet IOs I *should* be able to get very respectable resists on my pets. Then if I go with Barrier... =)
And of course with the Thugs/FF the idea is to cap their Defense.

I have a friend that has a Bots/FF and a Ninja/FF. When he's on his Ninja/FF and I play my Ninja/Traps, it's pretty incredible. I think I'm going to finish Incarnating my Demon/Time,then work on the Necro/Thermal. I mean, hey, what's NOT to love about FLAMING ZOMBIES!!!
  8. hahahaha...that's funny! Knowing someone will complain about it tho.
  9. Don't know about you, but I'm gonna be all over Dark Control when it's live. Based on current trollers I have, I think my choice for a secondary will be limited. Already did /Cold,/Rad, /Thermal (gave up at level 44),/Empathy. And I've done /Dark, /Storm, /FF on other toons....so I'm thinking about going with /Poison just to have something different.

What you are planning on pairing with it and why?

  10. Another Known Issue...which has been a Known Issue for freakin' ever...rubberbanding/lag. Even worse now with I17.

And don't EVEN say it's my PC. Just built a brand new one:
Antec 900 II Case (total of 4-120mm fans and 1-200mm fan)
Antec TruePower Blue 750 watt PS
    EVGA p55 FTW MoBo
    4GB G. SKill ddr3-2200 RAM (OC'd to 2600)
    Intel i7-860 processor 2.8ghz (OC'd to 3.2ghz stable..had it at 4.2ghz for a while)
    Corsair H50 CPU cooler
Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB HDD
    LG DVD Burner
    XFX Radeon HD5830 gfx card

I've got an idea...how 'bout someone fix some of these old/recurring problems before throwing out some new eye candy?

    /endrant
  11. I have a level 50 Mercs/Pain...and I love it. Great since the mercs usually stay near you. It's a very nice set,and great for teams.
  12. So...I've been looking at some numbers/synergies....and keep thinking that a DM/Electric Armor Scrapper would freakin' PWN. Confirmation anyone?

I know everyone shoots for soft capped defense when they talk about soloing AVs, but how would a Resistance based toon such as DM/Electric Armor fare?

Think about...Siphon Life,Energize,Dark Consumption,Soul Drain, and all the -To Hit...I'm seriously considering making this my next project.

    Thoughts?
  13. Silverado has done it. I'm surprised he hasn't shown up yet. Maybe PM him?

Not very well experineced with villains.
I have a lvl 50 Mercs/PD and I like him a LOT. Be sure to slot Chance for -Resistance when you can...it'll help out with your damage output.I also slotted some HO's in Spec Ops ( ACCY/MEZ,ACCY/MEZ,DAMAGE/MEZ, etc). At times, they seem to be mini controllers, and it really comes in handy.
All in all,a very fun toon, and teams should like you as well.
  15. I made a decently in depth guide to Thugs/Storm. You can find it in the guides section.I will warn you though...if you DO make a Thugs/Storm,you will have a LOT of fun.And possibly make a few people jealous at the same time. ;p

    Funny...
I just rolled one of these tonight...
How well does Ninjas mesh with Pain?
  17. Hmmm....

I rolled my Earth/Thermal tonight and starting leveling her. Earth feels...powerful.Perhaps not much damage, but it just seems like it has real strong holds/control. I kinda wanted to go Earth because I've never gotten one past level 6 (until today).

I didn't wanna go Fire/Rad because I already have one,and I have a Fire/Kin. I also have an Illusion/Storm,so I didn't wanna go with it. Gravity and Mind seemed kinda so so. I seriously thought about making a Plant troller, but I thought I'd give Earth the first shot.

P.S. i don't care what you call earth.stone.rock.that stuff that comes out of the ground and is brown.

We will have one Thermal. EARTH CONTROL/Thermal ;p

The few people in my SG are all RL Friends, one is my wife ;p ,and last night 2 of them was saying they want to make Illusion/Cold when I16 comes out. So we started talking about the 3 of us making new toons for I16,and I'm positive that 2 more people(another married couple) will want to join in and make new controllers also.
So getting everyone on the same page with strategies and what not will be easy. All we have to do is figure out which sets would be the most effective and plug any holes.

We were going to do this a while back with MMs. We planned on having 7 Thugs MMs ,but 3 of their computers wouldn't be able to handle that many Gang Wars at one time...lol.
I still wannabe on a team of all MMs...even if they're not all Thugs.

Excuse me.Sorry.It was 3:30 am when I posted.
  20. Greetings all !
So with controllers getting /Cold Domination in Issue 16,a few ppl in my SG have tossed the idea around of making all new controllers. The main goal of this Superteam would be to be able to take down any and all AVs/EBs/GMs.

We're thinking about having the following:
    1 Illusion/Radiation Emission
    1 Stone/ Thermal
    2 Illusion/Cold Domination
    1 Stone/Radiation
not sure if another sgmate would want to roll a troller, and if he did, what power sets he would take. I think an Illusion/Empathy would compliment the above fairly nice.

    The possibilty of having :
-1000% Regeneration from 2 Lingering Radiations
approximately -75% Defense Debuff from 2 Radiation Infections
approximately -70% To Hit Debuff from 2 Radiation Infections
-45% Resistance and -40% Damage from 2 Enervating Fields

approximately -30% Defense Debuff and -22.5% Resistance from Melt Armor
-16% Defense and -10% To Hit from Quicksand

AND,assuming slightly lower values for Cold Domination:
approximately -70% Defense and -50% Damage from 2 Infrigidates
-1000% Regeneration and -90% Damage from 2 Benumbs
-85% Defense and -50% Resistance from 2 Sleets
approximately -50% Resistance and -100% Endurance Recovery from 2 Heat Losses

Now,granted, I know that AVs/GMs have resistance to debuffs...but add up all of the above and you have a total of:
    -2000% Regeneration rate
    -260% Defense
    -145% Resistance
    -80% To Hit
    -117.5% Resistance
    -180% Damage
    -100% Endurance Recovery

WOW.Even if the AV/GM resisted 75% of the above...you're still talking a lot of debuff potential.

    Thoughts?

Also, I will prolly be the one to make the Stone/Thermal.I've never played a Stone past level 6,and had a /Thermal corruptor once but only got him to like level 8.Just taking a quick glance at it,it seems that Rocky would darn near be unkillable...even if I am solo.Has anyone made a Stone/Thermal?If so can you give me some advice on the sets? How's it play on teams?
  21. Spent 2 hours trying to log into Protector....FINALLY get on,and within 2 minutes a red message comes up stating that they are taking down the servers for emergency maintenance, expect downtime to be about an hour.

On double XP weekend! Thaqnks Devs....really freakin' appreciate the great double XP weekend minus 1 day.
Instead of working on new forum boards, wouldn't it have been smarter to make sure that such a big event like double XP weekend went smoothly?Especially when knowing with past 2x weekends that a couple of servers have crashed/overloaded?
