Stuck in Galaxy City

What happens if you log out in Galaxy City... for eight years?

It turns out that it gets destroyed, everyone gets teleported to Atlas Park, Ouro gets an Echo of Galaxy City... and then...

You log in eight years later, still in Galaxy City, with nobody around and no train service. ^_^

I never had a character stuck in the Paragon Dance Party or The Rikti Crash Site, and I always sort of wished I had. I *DO* have multiple characters stuck in Outbreak and Breakout still. But I hadn't realized that I had any characters stuck in Galaxy City... or that I could log into Galaxy City without getting booted to AP immediately. But you can!

I found that I had a couple of them parked there too (I used to start a number of them there). Decided to get one to level 2 just for the heck of it and realized...oh, I can't level without leaving, can I?

I have a couple of toons in Outbreak and my son has at least one still in Breakout. It was nice seeing those again.

I'm guessing that without a tram (and without a mission teleporter or base available) you could get out by teleporting to a contact? (I didn't bother trying, I'd rather the characters stay where they are.)

Suggestions:
Super Packs Done Right
Influence Sink: IO Level Mod/Recrafting
Random Merit Rolls: Scale cost by Toon Level

I have Pocket D transporter, so that's guaranteed to work.

Otherwise I could also get someone to team and set a mission and teleport to that. Or ask to join a SG and use my SG teleporter.

I don't think there's any other ways out for these characters. Not that I actually care. If they had missions in zone, I could actually get people in there with me, but they don't.

Pocket D, of course.

I never used it as I, well, hardly ever team -- does Assemble the Team work across zones?
No, and Pocket D won't work if you're level 1 - you have to level up to level 2 at the trainer to use it.

These two characters were created in the days before you could actually be level 1 in Galaxy City. ^_^

Are you sure you're not in the Echo of Galaxy City and trying to use the train exit (the side door)?

You've been able to be Level 1 in Galaxy City since the game launched. It was one of the two available starting zones for characters leaving Outbreak.

I have a few characters that started in GC and I know of several people that always started in GC since it wasn't as busy as AP.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

Yes. I have known about that confusion for 8 years, but I knew some idiot would ask anyway.

Hmmm.... in my head it was never an option until you could get the Isolator badge through Ouroboros, hehe. In the above photos we can see that Kindra is level 6, and that Shadowy Man has his Isolator badge, like all of my new characters did. ^_^

The gate to Perez Park and the underpass to King's Row work for exiting.

At the launch and for some time after you could only be level 1 if you chose not to level up, since you'd exit the, originally mandatory, tutorial with the xp to level to 2.

@Doctor Gemini

Arc #271637 - Welcome to M.A.G.I. - An alternative first story arc for magic origin heroes. At Hero Registration you heard the jokes about Azuria always losing things. When she loses the entire M.A.G.I. vault, you are chosen to find it.

I've got a few alts in the real Galaxy City too. The neat thing is while there's no contacts there, you do still find zone mobs on the street.

While collecting Sentinel+, several of my alts stopped purse snatchings that had been underway for years apparently.

I wish I had characters stuck in the real Galaxy City. Always preferred it over Atlas Park.

The character on my EU account logged out in the Striga Isle hospital. Years later I logged back in to find they'd moved the hospital and the old one was now an empty room coated in the concrete texture and no way out! I guess they leave old maps and rooms around "just in case."

I had several characters in Outbreak and happened to choose Galaxy to exit, and had the same issue. Some folks I'd only created for reference purposes anyway so it was no big deal, but others I did kind of want to get them out of there. To my knowledge the other gates still don't work - I didn't bother trying though. Once I realized that they were in a zone that the server had created PURELY FOR MY USES, I smiled and left them there forever.

It's kind of eerie, but it's still appropriate for most of them anyway.

Tried the pocketD trick too but yeah you have to have level 2 or 3 for that. Not positive that the supergroup portal works either.

Since the trainers were in GC and AP, when you left Outbreak you were still level 1 even though you had enough XP to train up to Level 2.

Therefore, if you choose GC as your starting zone when leaving Outbreak you would still be level 1 when you arrived there.
