Our friends over Latino Review at have just broken one hell of a story. According to the site, Guillermo del Toro (Hellboy, Pacific Rim) will soon begin work on a DC Comics adaptation for Warner Bros. called Heaven Sent, and it will bring together some of the most well-known supernatural characters from that comic book universe, including:

• Deadman
• The Spectre
• Swamp Thing
• Constantine Hellblazer
• Phantom Stranger
• Zatanna
• Zatara
• Sargon
• Etrigan the Demon

That's the list the site has and it seems to cover that area of the DC Universe very nicely (a shame that there's no mention of Animal Man though...). Warner's lawyers are currently hard at work on making sure they have the rights to bring each of these characters to the big screen, and while it's a project which is likely still a good few years away, but it's definitely not too early to start getting excited about this ambitious project!

Rice- “Starchy and Tasty”- Speaking of Guillermo del Toro let’s just say he is working on a movie that has the potential to be the greatest movie ever committed to film. Or bytes. I hear that his next epic, PACIFIC RIM ( a Japanese Porno) is testing so well that Warner Brothers wants to offer him everything they have. Fortunately he passed on the feature version of V and the sequel to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory but he does want to do his own version of the Avengers, just supernaturally. Called HEAVEN SENT he is combining all the magical beings from DC Comics in one epic adventure. Deadman, The Spectre, Swamp Thing, Constantine Hellblazer, Phantom Stranger, Zatanna, Zatara, and Sargon as well as Etrigan the Demon will team up to no doubt save us from the Stay Puft Marshmallow man. Now this one is a ways away, but Warner’s lawyers have been working every night trying to clear the rights to all these characters. I am excited. Imagine a giant inflatable Spectre floating over San Diego ComiCon like we had with the SKY CAPTAIN Robot? Or endless screenings of the film like with SCOTT PILGRIM? Or maybe a building converted into a giant ad like with COWBOYS AND ALIENS? HEAVEN SENT is certain to RULE ComicCon in 2020!

Interesting..

I'd certainly be interested in such a movie. Especially with Del Toro on it.

Need a little help here, don't recognize most of the characters in these pictures. Other than Deadman, Constantine in the first (is that suppose to be Jason Blood with the white streak in his hair?) and Swamp Thing in the second.

I agree with this so much I'll use it myself!

This really looks like a good fit for Del Toro. I'm not even all that familiar with these comics, but the designs and themes just seem to be a great fit.

In the first pic, one of the characters (take a guess which one) appears to be DC's Frankenstein.

And the gal in the pink bodysuit on the right *might* be Black Orchid...

And I'm starting to think that that isn't Jason Blood, but rather is Lord Andrew Bennett...

I think the girl with the sword (on the left) might be Amethyst and could the kid in the middle be Timothy Hunter?

All in all I'm very curious to know where that picture is from, looks like an interesting read.

Left to right...

Madame Xanadu
Amethyst
Andrew Bennett (aka I... Vampire!)
Frankenstein
Timothy Hunter
John Constantine
Deadman
Black Orchid

Anyway, Del Toro + Swamp Thing would be the most exciting comic book movie I could dream of. Hopefully he follows through.
