Dodger gets it wrong

Oh well. It's nice that she finally brought it up - I asked her to talk about it the day after the announcement.

She mentioned she got it from this article but oh well.

Hrm... yeah... that wasn't very accurate at all, heh.
Not a lot of actual research went into that, I guess.
Never heard of her before. Won't be going back, I guess. Although, fans of hers should absolutely let her know that she got some bad information there. Maybe she thought she was doing good by us just to report it? But yeah, that's not how news is supposed to work, hehe. It is, however, how most of it goes.

She's been getting bigger and bigger on YT - she's one of Husky's friends/roommates (the famous Starcraft caster.)

And I didn't mean it as a dig against her when I said I'd never heard of her.
Hehe, I wouldn't be able to name a single video game reviewer or YT correspondent... Other than JayboH, of course!
I just included it to represent my own situation coming into it blindly, as it were.

Young Justice is a fantastic series. I initially figured by the title it would be a silly kid superhero show like Teen Titans, but oh, how wrong I was. It's right up there with the Justice League series if not better. Avengers is enjoyable but Young Justice trumps it. Green Lantern is very, very focused on kids.

/Don't like her delivery at all. And frankly, if she's gonna do 'news', she needs to do research. It's not really all that hard, Dodger.

Just watched this video...meh. The thing that irked me form the very start was when she said "City of Heroes is FINALLY shutting down." The information she provided was not up to date and basically wrong; except for the whole November 30th thing.

It's obvious she has no clue about CoH... the CoH community... or the #SaveCoH movement.... Well actually it isn't obvious that she doesn't KNOW; prolly more likely she just couldn't be bothered to report the details.

Maybe it was worse for me because I was using headphones and had to turn the volume down so low I was guessing at what she was saying becasue her voice was causing a sharp pain behind my eyes.

I watched it with the sound muted, it was markedly more enjoyable that way.

i've been waiting for weeks for the TGS Podcast crew (Totalbiscuit, Dodger, Jesse Cox, and one of their guests from The Game Station's network) to at least even MENTION it, and the only time they did mention CoH was mentioning the Mission Architect system.

Nothing else has been said, before Dodger mentioned it today I didn't even think they knew about it at all.


At least she said SOMETHING. =/

We sent her a tweet and messages on the video about her inaccuracies, but not a single reply or a follow up vid to rectify. She may wait until Monday, but if she doesn't fix her mistake she will have made a gross mistake via journalistic standards. I have followed her until this point, but will be unsubbing Monday if she doesn't rectify her simple pass over on the news surrounding the news of the closure.

I now know why I have never heard of this person before .... nothing like blabbing on and on about something you know nothing about then ignoring the glaring mistakes when they are pointed out to you.

She seems to be a nice person that usually gets the news correct, but someone grossly misled her regarding us for some reason.

To be honest I am a little disappointed in TGS ATM, but there are reasons most of them haven't covered it. The news came out on Labor Day weekend, also the first full weekend after Guild Wars 2 launched, and PAX was that weekend as well. It worked to NcSoft's advantage and the news was buried by Tuesday. After that most of the talk about our community and our efforts took sort of an "oh, here are some more upset gamers mad because their game is closing." Sadly, because of the way other groups have handled support or games being shut down we are passed over as "uninteresting news." Hardly any know our community unless they have been a part of it.

Still, it doesn't mean the news should just be ignored or glanced over. If your show is about news, like Dodger's channel or the TGS podcast itself, then the topic should be delved into and examined thoroughly.

One thing of note, Felicia Day will be guesting on the TGS podcast either this week or next, not sure which. She can bring a topic to discuss and we sort of nudged Dark_Respite to mention our plight since they haven't yet. My partner, on my channel, actually wants to guest on the show to do this, in fact, but our channel is hardly popular enough to get noticed for such. As it stands, we just have to hope they wise up a little with their practices.
