City of Heroes Petition Reaches 20,000 Signatures
Something I said long time ago. But alot of people jumped on my case. Just be careful, they dont seem to like that type of talk around these here parts.

NC doesn't want to sell this game. They originally bought the partial rights and IP for how many million again? 4 or 5? The playerbase could have done maybe 100 - 200k, I really think that could have happened over time. But millions? No way. And that would be if NC even wanted to sell or was taking offers. Last I heard they were not. I'd love for someone to tell me that such a thing has changed.
The game is gone. That's it. While the game may eventually be rebooted or what have you, I doubt very much that it's going to be anything that we are used to.
Ignore my forum reg date, I have actually been here 7 years...well..veeeeeeery close to. I don't care what people think of me or what I have to say. If people want to hold onto the hope that this game will be magically saved in 2 months, then that is their right. I guess I've stopped wasting my energy worry about it all. It is what it is. If people want to jump on me then that is their choice, I can't control how other people behave.
But really...if people think that 20k sigs on an internet petition is going to do anything...they are sorely mistaken. It won't happen. Sucks to say, but it's the bitter truth. And this is all coming from someone who initially was jumping up and down happily when the petition first cracked 10k sigs in like 1.5 days. Just facing reality is all...as harsh as it is.

My Characters
I think the petition is more important for the news element, than the signatures. The milemarks have gotten the story on the gaming sites 3 times now. First when it began, then at 10k, and again at 20k.

I mean it's obvious the petition will not stop the closing...as that is a done deal. The petition will not guarantee the negotiations are a success. What the petition does provide is a way of saying "Look these people are wanting the game to stay alive."
The part that saddens me is that I know there are more than 20,000 active CoH players, but thousands of them have not signed the petition. I wish there was a way of reaching out to those who haven't heard about it; which is why I continue to promote it as much as possible. If/when the game closes; whether the negotiations are fruitful or not, I will feel good that I have done everything I can to help save CoH. I refuse to be one of the lazy people who simply gives up. I refuse to be a defeatist.

It sure would be great to get most of the 170,000+ members of this forum to sign, and I hope people will continue to sign.

The petition is a useful rolling publicity item for our campaign, so we need to keep pushing it.
