Moving characters to Freedom
Honestly, I'm considering moving one of mine to Virtue for a similar reason.
I want an AVI of each iTrial for my archive collection, and as much as I hate to say it, Liberty's "usual suspects" have been so few and far between lately that I seriously doubt we'd be able to pull together a MoM or a Keyes over here anymore.

This is nothing new. Liberty has always taken a long time to get an iTrial going - unless it's been something that's done on a regular basis after something else that is pretty popular, like the msr or a hami raid.
I know a lot of players like to wait for people to lead iTrials, rather than forming them. And when someone does try to form them, people tend to need a few moments to wrap something up. And sometimes, they take longer than that. It's all rather maddening when folks don't realize they can just exit the mission with an ouro portal at that instant and they don't have to finish the mission.
I still have the bulk of my 50's on Liberty, and for the past couple of months have only done UGTs with them, because that's the only trial with a guaranteed rare/very rare. (Magi's are ok because of the 2 emp merits. But, even when you get badges on a magi, it's not rich in rewards. Very few astrals compared to the other iTrials. )
This is why I've started playing on other servers. I don't have to lead the trials, so I don't have to blow my stack at someone who went and did what I just typed out not to do. (well, to be fair, I've only had that happen a couple of times) Now I can just shake my head at the leader for making a bone-head call or not making a good call.
Also, LB is not the channel it used to be. A lot of us are using private channels instead of the public ones - tends to keep the riff-raff out. So, there's a chance that people aren't getting the message.

As a member of the riff-rafferati, I think it's a shame that Liberty has become so riff-raff averse (to the point of setting up private channels to ensure that the unwashed masses cannot *gasp* get a spot on an itrial or tf), but then, there is that element on most servers. They're just not usually so self-satisfied, even gloating, about it. Again, sad.
Bang! You're dead!

On Freedom I joined a Manticore TF. It took about 10 minutes to recruit the minimum number of heroes.
I'd been wondering what the server's decay rate was going to be after the announcement. I'm guessing the halflife is about 10 days. Unless something happens soon, even Freedom will be sparse by the end of September.

I wonder if this doesn't contribute to people leaving the server (and a great many have, not just since the announcement)? But I suppose the "elite" are happy to see the "riff-raff" leave. Really sad. I remember when Liberty had the "nice server" reputation; that's long gone (and not just evident in this filter out riff-raff stuff, but as that was brought up . . . . ).

On a side note; Riff Raff is a villain on Underdog and would be offended by his name usage here so there. Really I just wanted to post that AV will be on Liberty until the doors close. Look for me on your next MSR and REX I still need a M.O.M. plus Steele and I need 3 Magi's to unlock our Hybred. Thanks RL for running this past one we were on.

Okay so I logged on AV my main who I have been playing for nearly8+ years and fair well known only to have a "riff-raff" a rude sob give me grief something I assume he thought was funny which I found no humor in. Now I could post his name and global and drag him and his antics across the board, say stuff like he will never be invited and blah blah or I can chose to realize he thinks he funny and no harm. But would I tolarate him on my private channel, no. I have one private channel and I share it with two people.

For example: I told a Mod on LB via PM that I never thought they were funny. Then I left that channel. Within 40 seconds, that Mod was made a mod on LFA and then kicked me from the LFA channel. It's all good. It merely confirmed what I thought. (that they aren't funny)
Private channels serve a purpose, as do the public channels.
The server count being at 30, whereas in weeks previous it's floating between 80 and 125 have a lot to do with the fact that if your vip sub expires, you can't resub. Some have mentioned that they've kept their vip status despite this, others have stated that they haven't. My sub isn't up until late October, so I can't speak for any validity to that being the reason, but I'm sure it's part of it. I know personally, I've probably played two hours since the announcement, when I typically play 4-5 hours a night.
From my experience, Liberty stopped being the Friendly server a couple of months before that other game went live. But, that's not to say any other server took that title from Liberty. It's all about perception. Your experiences may differ greatly from someone elses.
My thinking is that a lot of folks pretty much have decided to play another game since any progress made on their characters makes no difference, because in the long run, the game's shut down. (Unless TonyV or someone else makes something happen)

I logged in the weekend of the announcement to fraps a few things as keepsakes but other than that there isn't much of a reason to keep playing.
I know I'll regret it the moment I cannot log in again, but it's too depressing right now.
I didn't really have a lot of time (or the want) to play this game before it was given its death sentence. Now it makes me sad because even though I am busy doing other stuff or just busy working....I still liked knowing that if I had some free time, I could log on and well do whatever I wanted in game. Task force? check. Create recipes? Check. Make pretty cowboy hat outfits? Check. Now....not so much. My vip status supposedly expires on 9/25 so we'll see. As Sarah said, this is just depressing. When I am rich though I have decided to not buy comcast and fire all their idiots, instead I will buy NCSoft and fire theirs instead
Thanks, NC Soft, for closing my favorite game ever without warning and with plenty of life still left in it, and thus relieving me of the burden of EVER wanting to buy, try or even hear about another game from your company. Will my decision make a dent, or persuade them in anyway, shape or form? Nope, obviously not. Don't care. NC Soft is dead to me. ~ PsyFox

In any event, remember: Every dollar you save multiplies to the bottom line. (Every time McDonalds' saves a dollar, that's one order of fries they don't have to sell to earn the same amount of money, roughly. )

Thank you EA for the modship. Thank you Liberty for the laughs.
Thank you Ukase for bringing a smile to my face, each and every day.

It's no secret that Liberty's population has taken a major blow from the announcement. Last night's Magi Monday took over an hour to form, and that was just to get the minimum number to run the trial. Incarnate trials have essentially stopped.
Of my six level 50s on Liberty, I'm going to move four of them to Freedom. The Freedom population is also probably decaying, but there is still a semblance of normalcy there. Heck, even iTrials are running.
Liberty will always be home in my heart, and my main character (in my sig) will remain there until the end, but most of my hours now will be on Freedom. Hope to see other Liberty refugees there. I'll still follow LB and hop on Liberty if something fun is going on.
The sea level is rising. I'm moving to higher ground. What else can you do?
