Meeting your lover in COH
Ive got a scary story but Im not gonna tell. 8X Be careful everyone.

I've attended myself a couple of "in-game" weddings, even officiated one of them... besides I know people who started their relationship thanks to the game and they are now couple, expecting a baby and so.
Proud Coleader of: Fuerza Letal (H), Liga de las Sombras (V), Legion del Fenix (H), Infernal Justice (H), and a happy member of GammaForce (H) and D.O.A. (V).

Hell yeah, I'll chip in...!
I met the lovely Mystel in-game, we've been together for coming up to 2 years now, and we moved in together almost exactly a year ago. It's safe to say we would have had NO chance of even knowing of each other's existence without CoH.
As it is, I just love to tell people - particularly those outside the geek-o-sphere - that we met whilst dancing in a sewer. And I will never let my Grandad forget that he once described her as the girl I met "on the game".

I tried, but it seems women aren't overly attracted to crazy people. I was very surprised.

Doesn't count if I drag them into the game after the relationship exists, right?
Met my wife on Pinnacle in 2006. Met in person in 2007. Moved in together in 2008. Got married in 2009. Had a baby in 2010.
There was more to it than that, but I figured I'd keep it simple this time around (you can find the story elsewhere)

If you play on Protector you might have met Gothess/Animatrix. Some folks here would have met her in real life at the second or third Hero Con; I forget which. Her fiance is a fellow whose characters tend to be named "Verdant This" and "Verdant That". They met through the game and they were married last Sunday.
If see them online, tell them "congratulations".
I didn't meet a lover here but I did have a bf who played with me.
One day, he was slogging through the old Positron task force. Hours went by and he was obviously really bored. I kept advising him to fake a disconnect and quit, but he played it through for like three hours, looking like he was going to slit his wrists. I told him sometimes you just need to get out of a situation if its not working for you.
He broke up with me the next day.
Ouch! Kinda kills future old Positron runs. Or maybe makes them even better?

Great stories in here, guys!
Over at Titan Network, there's a big media outreach push underway--we're trying to convince uninvested people that our game's story is interesting and that our game is worth saving. If those of you who met your significant others could tell longer, touching versions of those stories in this thread, it'd be a great place to send people that need a reason to care.
Thanks in advance!

I met my husband on Virtue. Our characters got married before we did. We had a couple of CoH friends travel Down Under for the wedding, too. My husband just had his visa interview the other day, and the consular official thought our story was cool. He said he wished he had a character so he could give us our approval notice in-game.
We planned to keep playing for a long time to come, and we're still shocked over this whole thing.

I did find Liquid's story at the top of another thread.

My proudest personal achievement came after years of begging my best friend to play with me in City Of Heroes. Finally I bought her a copy of the game and several time cards so she would have no excuse NOT to play.
In short order she met someone who could understand her sarcastic humor in spite of only have text to convey her words. Didn't take long from that to become friends, form a long-distance relationship, and finally marry. It was totally worth having my best friend move literally half way around the globe to know that she is happy, loved, and understood. Congratulations, MK and B!
Sadly around the same time the opposite was happening to me. My City Of Heroes friend-turned-fiance relationship crashed harder than the Rikti ship in RWZ. Ironically being able to play City Of Heroes helped me through that time. While ours was not a CoH success story, that experience and my resulting choices later lead on a direct path to my good and happy marriage.
Like during that horrible failure, I hold firm to the believe that while now may feel so dark I can't think how to keep balance in my life come December, somehow, someway, after this beautiful window into imagination has shut a new door will open to something even more wonderful.
Thank you City Of Heroes: Game, forums, community all. The lessons I have learned and memories we have shared will continue to be a force of good in my life. My goal will be to be an influence of good for others even as you have been for me.
*HUGS!*
I met my partner in Paragon City, seven years ago at Talos Island station as I ran back from yet another trip to the hospital (Blaster!)
Unfortunately she rapidly found out I'm not much of an elec/elec blaster in real life, well not unless you count shuffling your feet rapidly across the floor and discharging a wimpy static shock at someone! Still something must have clicked because we're still together today. In fact we're getting married two weeks tomorrow and both can't believe the game that brought us together will be gone a scant few months later
I'm mildly annoyed that I let my VIP status lapse literally just before the announcement, so I could buy Guild Wars 2. The promise I made not to pay for too many games at once really came back to bite me
While I sincerely hope that CoH is saved, we'll both remember this game for the rest of our lives. We found each other on the streets of Paragon, along with a lot of new, lasting, friendships.
Whatever happens I'm keeping the Atlas statue musical jingle (I really don't know what it's actually called!) as my ringtone - it never fails to send shivers down my spine, even today
Thank you City of Heroes.
Today I was watching twitch TV (community coffee talk) and I was glad to hear that people actually met there husband/wives here . I'm not sure if there is another thread here with this same topic but do you ladies and gents want to share your story of how you met that special someone in game.
