Post your Earliest Screenshots

I was going through some of my screenshots, and thought it would be nice to post them for old-times-sake, before the lights get turned off.

Note sure when beta ended, but I think most of these are from beta.

Remember the Perez park flight exploit? Everyone was farming hydra. Not sure this one's from beta.


I recently got this guy to 50 ( had him shelved for years ). Glad I did so
before the game shut down.

I had several screenshots from the 1 year anniversary celebration in AP, unfortunately, I seem to have lost them.

Howdy, kinfolk.

First screenshot in my folder. Heraclea contemplates life from a dumpster in King's Row. Datestamp is Dec. 28, 2004. She would have been four days old at the time.



This one from January 2005 has some historic significance. There was a rather confusing picture, an official screenshot with a spines scrapper, illustrating the game play on Wikipedia. I cropped and uploaded this to replace it. Heraclea, again. At least you can tell who the hero and the villain is here.



Some months later. Grandma Gnosis, my first controller (ill/emp) takes to the skies over Talos.

I don't post in this section of the boards often, if ever, though I do lurk and read most of the posts, because I can appreciate teh artz (I still have the pieces Wassy did for me four years ago). I might get a commission with all my major characters in a group shot, just for nostalgia's sake...

This is, to the best of my knowledge, the earliest screenshot I still have. The original machine I played CoH on was a gigantic piece of crap and if I did take any screenshots those first few months they've been lost for several years. This is from January 2008 after the supergroup I'd just joined (Legends of Justice, on you guessed it - Justice) finished a Shadow Shard TF (I think it was Faathim). Half the players in the screenshot no longer play, but sometimes it's nice to go through my old screenshots to remember the things I used to do and the people I used to do them with.



EDIT: After doing some digging, I managed to find a few screenshots from my original CoH machine. This is the earliest one I have, from August 2007, and it's my Nin/FF Mastermind that never made it past level 14, so it isn't special in that regard, but it is the earliest memory I have recorded from CoH.



For a higher-res version of either image, just remove the last character before the .jpg extension.

Hey guys, can't tell you how sad it feels trawling through all my old screenies. I know MMORPG's don't last forever, i've been through this once with EQ, but this was such a big shock! Kind of 'here today, gone later today'

I did find some old screenies i thought might be worth posting, though this was early days... excuse the costumes It's a bit like being a self-respecting adult and your mum gets the childhood photo album out, lol...

K, this was my first ever screenie, taken before i'd even actually moved an inch in the world, don't remember the toon name but he was claw/somet scrapper, deleted him half way through the tute...




Next short lived toon was Kawasaki Man... sorry...
I had a kawasaki, this was as close as i could get to my leathers...




Then my first long term-er, think i got this guy to lvl12 before deleting him...
I like The Flash, I like Cap America... meet druuuuuurrrrrrrrrr (drum role) Green Flash!! Yep, i sucked at character concepts then, and names, and costumes, and at not poking the eula with a long stick...




Then we got serious, and i'm so glad i found this screenie, didn't think i had any of her... This was my first serious character, CyborGirl, sonic/energy blaster, she was my main for a while and i got her to around level 30, took ages




And finally, this is a more recent screenie of my Mastermind Robostein, but just found it and remembered i liked it

It's been a great 4 years playing CoH and getting to know all you lot in the Multimedia and Screenshot and Video an... eeeesh, in the Art Forum, i'll miss visiting here more than anything i think. Cheers guys, you all Roxx

I can't get to the PC that I played beta on (remodeled and my office has a full bedroom suite stuffed in it), but when I can I'll see if I have any good ones. I took a ton during the end-of-beta Rikti invasion. In the meantime:

I don't know that I will be able to get back to my old computer before the end and pull up my earliest screenshot. For a very long time I was stuck with that problem in win7 where I would have to exit the game every time I took a screenshot to save it in paint of some such. It was a real pain so for a couple years I gave up on taking screenshots. I have recently rediscovered the art and am working to catalog and store all my characters and scenes from the game that I can. I just hope "print screen" can handle the beating.

I'm behind the green guy on SolarangerWhite. This is the earliest screeny I have.

This is my earliest screenshot in the game.

September 2007 it looks like. This was taken on the family computer which had some extremely out-of-date graphics drivers, so whenever I logged in, no matter where I went, the bottom half of the screen was whatever the scenery was at the time of log-in. Also as you might be able to tell I was in a Transformers mood cause of the movie. I don't think I've touched that character in years.

OK, first things first, since I see these on the login screen (and yeah... 8 slots... I remember being amazed at getting 12...) - I posted these origin bits elsewhere, I'm sure someone else can clean them up nicely. (I can't without losing chunks or color, in most instances.)

I lost all of my earlier screenshots due to a hard drive meltdown. However I have a bunch of screen shorts from issue 6-7ish and beyond!
