An alternative plan of attack

I'm surprised that I've not seen this mentioned before but it seems somewhat obvious - so if somebody has thought of it, apple bogies.

NCSoft is a publicly owned company so why don't we

  1. Form a consortium
  2. Buy loads of NCSoft shares
  3. Change their policy
Not an easy task perhaps, but maybe easier than starting from scratch?

Just throwing it out there.

Not on my own. But I reckon that it's possibly as doable as buying the IP

I don't think now's the time to attack people for their weight.

OK, I admit, that made me laugh out loud. Thank you, Stone Cold Steve Austin

Someone on the forums ran the numbers a few years back on how much it would take to buy a majority stake in NCSoft and as I recall it was in the hundreds of millions US dollars, so...better fire up that kickstarter, lol.

While it's great to see that so many people are trying to think of ways to save the game, this just isn't realistic (unless we have some seriously wealthy people playing this game). Nexon just bought a 14.7% stake in NCSoft for $687 million. That means the company as a whole is worth over $4.5 billion. I don't think we can pull together anything close to that kind of money.

Currently, I think that the IP may be cheaper than the required amount of shares.

I like the creative thinking here. There must be some way to save CoH.

Sadly GG is right , when nexon only got 15% of shares , they earn 9 billion a year on F2P products ..

You know this plan of attack is useless .
The whole thing is what does Positron thinks of this situation , together with warwitch they are crucial , to any plans involving getting the IP back .

Maybe they are tired ,but a whole DEV team is behind them !
Matt didn't had a bad working relationship with NCSOFT till now .

That is the real question ?
Look even tired of this frenchise , get it back and pass it on to the team that loves it .

Hold on...let me check under the sofa cushions.

Arc# 92382 -- "The S.P.I.D.E.R. and the Tyrant" -- Ninjas! Robots! Praetorians! It's totally epic! Play it now!

Arc # 316340 -- "Husk" -- Azuria loses something, a young woman harbors a dark secret, and the fate of the world is in your hands.

Look we know kickstart will work to get a certain degree of money .
The whole issue boils down , to what NCSOFT wants , they are going to withdraw from the west , since 5% margin income isn't worthwhile .

Now what cost do they want for the IP , that is affordable by fan donations .
From there on the team can decide what they want to do .

But NCSOFT has to be charitable , and since CoH always been one of there products.
That brought a steady income , let them be super heroes about it .
Sorry why destroy the world nr1 superheroes MMO ?
