Aw, man. I would have mourned the passing of CoH no matter when or how it happened, but for pete's flipping sake, I wish this issue had gone live and gotten to be around a while.

I'm already sitting on a beta I24 Mids release. It's still buggy and had several more optimization changes (like finally fixing the issue that causes enhancement loading to take forever upon starting the program up)... maybe I'll put that together before I go on vacation in a week-and-a-half.

I was told the plans for 25 and 26 were going to equally wow me. Having seen 24, I have no doubt about it.

Not like there's a hurry, but I know the community would love it (and you for it). For the Xth time, thank you (and the rest of the mids crew) for all your work over the years. Without Mids, the game would be much less awesome for me.

Are future plans covered by their NDA? I'd love to hear some of them.

And if you want to check out the powers while you're waiting, I did update City of Data with the dump from the last I24 beta.

Probably, but you would have to ask them.

We do know more advanced LUA scripted cut scenes and missions were coming because Dr. Aeon mentioned that. We know the powers team was targeting Tankers next after Blasters. We know the storyline was moving to the Coming Storm.

I *think* more solo incarnate content was coming. Everyone seemed to know new powersets like Psi Melee were coming. There was the pummit-designed Radiation Armor coming and the costume sets.

The devs would have to provide the specifics, though, and I don't know yet what they are allowed to talk about. Aeon was pretty safe about LUA, because it was already established technology and it gives no real industry secrets or IP away. But technically NCSoft owns all the design work the devs have done to this point, and the devs probably aren't allowed to release all the specifics of it.

And don't forget Dual Archery and Fish Armor - Positron has been promising those forever...

That's about as much as I know, with the addition of whatever was going on with the primal AT or powerset that leaked at one point.

Not like I have much to go on, but it *sounds* like they might be limited from talking about any unannounced sessions - otherwise it seems like Posi wouldn't have described is AMA as "lore" related. I mean, I assume (perhaps erroneously) that he/they would love to talk about all the stuff they had planned for the game in the future, but can't, otherwise he would have mentioned it?

On the other hand, my brain does not work in a manner capable of dreaming up fish armor. It did, on the other hand, years ago suggest boomerang fish as a ranged set.


** It was inspired by a marketing image on the internet for a fantasy product long ago that had a picture of a woman with a nocked bow standing on one leg. Someone asked why they were standing on one leg and I said it could be because they needed the other leg for something else and when they asked what, I said for dual archery.

The other class is also Ranger.

And it means they can dual wield their dual wield, then using multishot they can fire 12 arrows at once.

As an aside, 8-bit Theater is awesome.
