Is Dehydrate worth it? (Water/Kin)
Remember the Summer Event with the God Champion?
There are things you really do not want to get close to in order to heal yourself.
And it deals damage.
Under construction
Dehydrate hits harder and has higher DPE and DPA than Hydro Blast; the heal is just a bonus. It's worth taking.
Dehydrate is amazing. A self heal that also does good damage? Hard to skip. Mine is six slotted.
A good point that Transfusion is a great primary heal, but I would still take it. Like others have said- it hits reasonably hard, heals you, and looks fantastic. I live by it on my wb/, but she is /cold and no heals are available via secondary.
The only way I would skip this is if I had a concept or if the build were extraordinarily tight.
Words to the wise aren't necessary- it's the stupid ones that need them.
"You're right...I forgot...being constantly at or the near the damage cap is a big turn off. Definitely not worth it."

Alright, guess I'll be making room for it! Thanks guys.
Views on Steam Spray if you don't mind?

Steam Spray is possibly the best cone in any blast set. It's much wider than powers like Fire Breath, and hits very hard.
If you play primarily in melee range, a cone may not be desirable to you, since you'd have to back away to use it properly. But as long as the positioning isn't a problem, I'd skip Whirlpool (which does ~the same total damage as Steam Spray, but only if they stand in the thing for the full duration, and it takes longer to deal the damage, and it recharges much more slowly) before skipping Steam Spray.
I skipped it. Plenty of debuffs and aoe in the other attacks. I like to open with Whirlpool though, if you prefer cone over patch that's fine.
Looks like I'm taking everything except Hydro Blast. Sounds good to me
Thanks a lot everyone.

My biggest worry for a Water/Kin and Steam Spray is the animation time and its nature as a cone.
/Kin requires you to be in melee at least part of the time, and cones don't do all that well in melee when you need to be back at a distance to really get the angle going that is needed to hit the whole group. Not only that, but its animation roots you for too long to warrant the damage (just a personal opinion) and its recharge feels really long compared to the rest of the set.
I eventually respecc'd out of it for my Water/Cold blaster. With enough recharge in Water Burst, I didn't notice the lack and ended up with a lot more overall mobility to move in-between ranges without having to worry about my powers being less effective at one particular range.
Too many alts to list.
Just playing around with Mids for my final Water/Kin build. Since I have Transfusion which is a very good heal and I tend to play in close range anyway, can anyone convince me to take Dehydrate? It hasn't really done much for levelling up to ~30 so far. Granted I don't have it optimally slotted but it still doesn't seem great.
