Bring base raids back!
The Devs have stated that the base code is very clunky and trying to fix one thing COULD break EVERYTHING. I'm sure they WANT to bring base raids back, but the question is whether they can devote the resources to it.

Villains are those who dedicate their lives to causing mayhem. Villians are people from the planet Villia!
Can you paste a link to them talking at all about base raids? Very curious
The biggest problem with bringing base raids back is that pathing was intentionally broken ages ago so players could do more unique things with base building. To return to base raids would be the return of pathing, which would break tons of existing bases.
If you want a specific dev comment on why making any changes to bases is a bad proposition, check this writeup of a recent Dev Coffee Talk. Synapse specifically compares changing bases to "playing Jenga on fire" (whether the game or the player is on fire if left to the reader's imagination).
"You don't lose levels. You don't have equipment to wear out, repair, or lose, or that anyone can steal from you. About the only thing lighter than debt they could do is have an NPC walk by, point and laugh before you can go to the hospital or base." -Memphis_Bill

Just search the forums.. it's always been said.

What I personally wish they'd do is to break the concept of bases and raids into two separate systems.
1. Bases - scrap the current system, and make something that is more flexible and usable. I have a personal base that I've been working on for years, I cant stand working on it more than once every few months due to the clutziness of the interface.
2. Raids - create something similar to mission architect. You select a map, decorate it up, and use that for a battleground. I could even see this being PART of MA.

I think they should add a PvP functionality to AE if they can't bring back base raids. And if they did that, perhaps they could add a map editor for PvP only. I limited it to PvP only because I can easily see how it could be exploited for farming.

I think they are very wisely stepping around that particular sleeping dragon.
GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

While I know how utterly mental the current system is....I also know how much outrage that would cause. There are some spectacular bases made using the current system (I should know, I've been in some of them) and only if you could replicate those sorts of looks could the Devs really get away with it.

They would have to destroy current bases (or make a separate system entirely), because bases as they are have pathing disabled. In other words, it is currently possible to make invincible bases by blocking off any power sources and such other objectives. They made this change when they disabled base raiding to give us more freedom of design.
Seriously, almost every aspect of the game has been updated BUT THIS! This was such a fun experience and truly gave more meanings and value to SGs/VGs. This would be a great way to bring SGs/VGs importance back into the game! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE bring them back!
