Supes & Wonder Woman: The New Power Couple
Superman is the only guy Wonder Woman can bring home without worrying about him getting killed.
"Diana, please tell them to stop trying to impale me with their spears." "Kill the *man*!" <stab, stab, spear breaks> "Destroy the interloper!" <swipe, swipe, sword bends> "Ignore them, Clark, they'll collapse of exhaustion in a few hours." |
Goodbye may seem forever
Farewell is like the end
But in my heart's the memory
And there you'll always be
-- The Fox and the Hound
They often get knockup resistance, too, so we may not have to worry about a super-powered child...

MY FAREWELL GIFT
It is never truly gone, as long as there is someone left to remember.
By the way, this was posted in 2010 on the ComicBookResources.com forums, so my take on it is :
The *New* Power Couple ? Meh, been there, done that. |
I'm no comic book historian but I'd have to assume that in the multi-decades long history of Superman and Wonder Woman that they've "gotten together" in various storylines dozens of times. It's the most obvious superhero pairing imaginable. If you were to ask anyone "What two superheroes would mostly likely be a couple?" I'd bet even a four-year old could guess these two together in a heartbeat. They are like the Brad and Angelina of the comic book world...
Let's just say that learning about this "latest" plot twist in comic book land was hardly a shock in the least.

There is an extended version of the movie Hancock that directly addresses the reproductive issue. I thought it was a pretty funny scene, but I see why it was cut out of the final version. It is not hard to imagine what happened, considering the first half of that movie.
EDIT: I picked up the DVD in a bargain bin, but I was able to find the scene HERE.
LOCAL MAN! The most famous hero of all. There are more newspaper stories about me than anyone else. "Local Man wins Medal of Honor." "Local Man opens Animal Shelter." "Local Man Charged with..." (Um, forget about that one.)

Cancel the kitchen scraps for widows and lepers, no more merciful beheadings and call off christmas!
Don't worry about Lois. I hear she's given up on aliens and has turned to robots. She's keeping the Red Tornado in her dresser drawer.

I hoping they never buying house together and argue. They going need very good insurance coverage.

Seriosuly, why are people getting so wound up over this?
Regardless of the logistics of it, whether they should be together or not, it's all irelevant. They'll date/be a couple for a while and break up.
See, on this one, DC can't win. People complain about them "rebooting" but not enough changing, so they change something and people complain about it. We all know Supes will end up with Lois eventually, even in this new continuity/universe, but not many people end up with their first love and that's end of it. That would just be rehashing the past 20 years or so.
I'm looking forward to seeing how they play this.
