Cosplay Help: "Nolan" Robin costume
I think this might work for the gloves. This one looks more armored, but you'll have to paint over the brand name.
As for goggles, these aren't exactly 'glowing white eyes', but it has lights on either side and should fit in nicely with the atmosphere of the costume/Nolan movies.
EDIT: This might work too.(gloves)
EDIT: EDIT: By the way,
Goodbye. Not to the game, but the players. Goodbye. Everyone, remember to have fun. That's all I can say.
Wowowow those are some great ideas.
The second bracers you linked + armored looking motorcycle gloves are perfect for what I'm looking for. Shouldn't be too hard to paint over the logo (if its even possible, I don't know anything about painting over cloth/rubber).
Those glasses are great, and are cheap too! Wouldn't be too hard to remove the sides and attach them to a robin-esque eye mask. Sweet!
7 internets for finding a comic precedent for all this too, woot.
There was also the Sins of Youth storyline in which all adults became children and the teens/ kids became adults. Man, I love Young Justice.
First suggestion for 'painting' is using rubber spray paint. Might stick better. Second suggestion, the one I'd go with, is sew the appropriate color/texture fabric as a cover over the panels. You can bulk it up or just a thin covering. 'course it helps if you can sew... Third suggestion is to use a dye instead, because it'll likely do a better job. The logos can be scraped off in many cases, btw.
For the bracers, I also like the second ones better, if that matters to ya. But I like these better:

For the mask? Gonna have to make it up, but perhaps some EL tape in red for around the eyes. Just an idea. Also, go dark red for the mask.

Boots are these, IMO: http://www.academy.com/webapp/wcs/st...ck&N=895447678
Shin guards:

or
http://lacrosse.totalhockey.com/prod...ds/itm/8410-2/
which I like better. However, these may interfere with the boots above, so maybe something shorter, like this:

is a better idea.
Cape is simply go to a cloth store and get some material. Perhaps a nice smooth vinyl outer, with a nice cloth liner. Roll the edges and sew it up. Put a collar on it, or maybe make it a hooded cloak. A neck pull-string or something to tie it in the middle. Or, sigh, go the easy way and buy one...
Gloves you got covered. Only thing you need is a utility belt. Which would be this:
http://www.amazon.com/Martial-Arts-S...s=utility+belt
Only, I'd dye it dark dark red instead of black. And the pants are the shiny nylon warm ups in black, unless you wanted football type padding on the thighs or something. Same thing for the shirt under that armor, as that armor is gonna SUCK by itself in comfort.

THEN I found THESE:

And with those first boots and those other bracers, along with your chest armor? I think that'd work...
Ok, that was fun. Hope I helped! And I LOVE the idea! Can I tell my brother for him and his kid?

Clicked on a few of the "body armor" links yesterday, and most of my ads today on Facebook and other sites is for various body armor sites. Not sure if that is awesome or weird, but I'm leaning towards awesome.

I can't offer any costuming suggestions, but I wanted to say Good Luck! And I want to see pictures.
Thanks for eight fun years, Paragon.
I'm leaning more towards "they are always watching you..."
Also, a Robin without green shorts isn't a Robin (IMO, YMMV).

The adult Robin costume from Earth 2 is one of my favorite overlooked designs. Simple, but classic. Maybe go with some slightly darker shades of the primary colors, and you could have a really cool look.

Edit: Looking here for help before I delve into Cosplay forums...they're a bit unsettling, lol.
I love Halloween, always have. I've always wanted to go all out on a costume over the years, but due to budget and time I've often ended up doing less than I wanted.
This year my 3 year old son decided he wanted to be Batman for Halloween. I asked him "How about you be Robin and I'll be Batman?" to which he replied "No, I'll be Batman, you be my Robin!". Then I realized how funny a tiny Batman and huge Robin would be and I'm pretty excited.
I want to base my Robin off Arkham City:
I'm going for a Robin that would fit into Christopher Nolan's bat-verse. Here's my first step:

This upper body motorcycle armor fits my idea for "Robin" armor perfectly. The t shirt look is fantastic and the armor has a Nolan-verse feel to it.
So, my questions for all you superhero cosplayers:
-Do you think I'll be able to effectively paint that armor? My idea is to paint only some panels certain colors, leaving it mostly black. I'll probably paint several panels red. What type of paint should I use?
-Any idea on gloves?
-No idea on how to do the Robin eye mask. I'd thought about going for a tech version like Catwoman's from Dark Knight Rises, any idea on how to approach that? Bonus points if we could work out glowing white eyes
