Bug Submission Responses need to be looked at..

I submitted a bug the other day concerning jumping into a cement filled manhole in Preatoria. It was a bug submission, I did not expect a response in game. The first email I got was:

I know this.. it's a bug submission, not a petition.

The second email I received about 4 hours later was this:

Ummm... City of Heroes Freedom hasn't been launched? Then what am I playing?

This is the second time I have received these emails from different GM's. They are misleading and frustrating.

What happened to the 'Thank you for reporting this problem. We will pass it on" emails?

sounds like some of the CS people need to be brought up to speed on where the game is currently at, as freedom is almost a year old now lol

Hi guys,

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I've looked into it with CS, and it looks like it was just a misclick. Please remember that posting private communications between yourselves and NCsoft/Paragon Studios employees is against the forum rules. As such, I've removed the quoted bits above.

In any case, this should be resolved, and I've brought CS's attention to your issue. Sorry about the confusion!

I apologize as I did not know this bit of information. I will make sure not to do that again!!!! You can kill the thread.

No worries! I'm glad we were able to get it sorted out and became aware of it in the first place. I just wanted to let you all know in general. Additionally, if you ever come across something weird like this, feel free to message Zwillinger, Hit Streak, or myself, and we should be able to look into it relatively quickly.

But Freitag, thanks to the magic of the Internet, that IS how you appear in our meme-ories.

There is definitely something odd happening recently with the bug report toolchain, causing bug reports to be handled as other petitions perhaps?

I usually send in bug reports on text errors I find, and normally get an e-mail response saying basically that QA will be notified for a future fix. Last week, on two of them I got a response from a GM that being premium (and ineligible for ingame support) meant I should use these forums instead.

Fortunately it worked out after I logged into the support site and reopened the questions so another GM would take a look at the reports. If this happens to someone else who is premium (which means you can't PM Freitag...) that might be an option to try.

Yes it seems that since early June at least support has been giving incorrect responses on occasion. The strange thing is, for me, it's only 1 particular GM giving the wrong response when I file a bug report through the CoH support website, although I have other previous tickets responded to by that GM with the standard expected response. I never use the in-game support feature since I'm not VIP and it is reserved for them.

Support ticket examples:

#120603-000585 June 3, 2012

#120603-000624 June 6, 2012

#120618-000502 June 18, 2012 - I asked to have this ticket escalated to a higher GM for review and a little later that day it showed the status as "Waiting" but no response. After another day or two still no further responses so I just closed the ticket myself.

Due to these incorrect responses I am very leery about filing support tickets for bugs in the game now. To be honest I feel down right insulted from these responses.

Hopefully Freitag can look at this to ensure better quality customer service. Or maybe a nice VIP player could poke him and point him to my post?

Seriously? CS makes mistakes and you're going to take it PERSONALLY?

First tier personnel handle multiple games. They have been making mistakes or giving incorrect information for years when dealing with anything beyond normal, routine matters. It's nothing personal.

After receivin' my first in-game reply to a submitted bug report or copyright violation, I started to add in "DO NOT CONTACT ME IN-GAME CONCERNING THIS." to the end. I've still be contacted once more since then, and after I pointed it out, they very quickly disappeared.

The e-mails I receive are still canned replies.
