Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom
I know I've seen a couple of episodes of it, however, I think it's mixing with another anime or two in my head. There's an anime with a guy who loses his memory and has a cell phone that he receives mysterious instructions through and which also allows him access to nigh unlimited funds. There's one with a guy who sees something outside of the White House and gets caught up in some strange plot. And then there's one where a guy wakes up in a room with no memory, there are a bunch of other people in a similar situation, and one of them has ears that pull away from his head to reveal a bizarre compartment that may have had guns in it. And all of that is jumbled in my brain, evoked by this "Phantom" anime for some reason, though I'm pretty sure those memories involve at least two different anime.
Goodbye may seem forever
Farewell is like the end
But in my heart's the memory
And there you'll always be
-- The Fox and the Hound
It's on my list of anime to watch on Netflix. The descriptions I have read make it sound interesting.
It really falls to pieces in the second set of episodes. The finale in particular is very... well. You'll see. I didn't care for it much at all.

Started watching this anime and I must say that it is very good.... anyone else ever watched?

It's too bad that Anime thread has gotten so big, I know that there were a few others and I that said it was a good watch and recommended it.

I haven't seen Phantom yet, but I want too.
Just finished it today...man such an awesome anime. It has some pretty deep emotional moments. If you don't at least feel moved by some of the stuff that happens....well I feel sorry for you.

The first one you're thinking of is Eden of the East, I think. That was a good series and the first movie was good too. Haven't seen the second one though.

Part of what he's talking about is "eden of the east" (No memories, white house) the other part sounds 100% like its from "Gantz!"(Manga is so much better than the anime after like episode 12)

I watch a fair amount of anime on my own, and my memories of it may become hazy over time, but I have a better chance of remembering it if I sought it out myself. This jumble of memories is from a few episodes of various things I saw at a friends house a couple of years back. Some of which I ultimately did seek out myself (History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi!), and others that I probably never will and would be hard pressed to recall plot details much less a name (like that one with the guy who always ends up naked with a crudely drawn elephant head over his crotch).

Not really (aside from a giant mech constructed of an army of (possibly naked) man clones tightly joined together, which I'd rather forget). After much manipulation of the magical google machine, I was able to come up with the name of the anime: Inukami!

Without giving away any spoilers, how many episodes of Phantom should I watch before deciding if it's for me or not? Watched the first two and not too impressed.

I'd suggest the first half, but if you don't care for it a little by 6'ish, then there's no reason to keep going and start on the base of the second half's story line.
