Regarding the nuke revamps for i24...

Any idea if the two VEAT nukes (omega maneuver and psy wail) will be affected? I'd love to see a 45ish sec nuke on my fort, would change its whole playstyle.

I'm guessing they will be tweaked, since their recharge is at 360 seconds, but haven't found any references to it. Any ideas?

I seriously doubt it.. First off these changes are mostly to nukes that have crashes and they are focusing on Blast sets ( which affects Blasters Corruptors and Defenders). Kheldians which also have nukes are not having their nukes changed in Issue 24.

The hard things I can do--- The impossible just take a little bit longer.

If numbers are so much more important than a teammate who is fun to play with, forget about the game altogether and go play with a calculator instead. -Claws and Effect-

the kheldian nukes are not being changed with i24, but after, so if they do look at the VEAT nukes it would prolly also be after i24 as well

They said all nukes were being looked at, even the current crashless ones:

But again no specific reference to VEATS, but since the focus here is on lowering their recharge I'd be surprised if VEATs were excluded.

They specifically said Kheldian nukes would not be revised until later, though, because they're focusing on the actual Blast sets first.

I've read everything I can find about the nuke changes and normalizations and I think it's safe to assume that VEAT nukes are not going to be affected any time soon.

Omega Maneuver, in particular, is such an odd power (psuedo-pet bomb) that giving it a shorter recharge time and small damage scale would not fix the reasons that most people dislike it, and fixing those issues would ruin what makes it an interesting power in the first place.

the only thing i dislike about omega bomb is the rech, the current dmg it does is decent but not enough to justify a 6 min rech for similar powers other sets have that have half of the base rech currently

The reason I don't like it, and I suspect this is widespread, is because it's worthless on teams.
Modern teams roll over their opponents so rapidly that by the time the bomb can explode, its potential targets are defeated, thrown from the area by knockback, or drawn away by stronger sources of aggro. I always pay close attention when I see some other Crab trying to use it, and the results are universally disappointing.
I don't see how the nuke fixes would change any of that. The delay that allows mobs to respond to the taunt is essential to the functioning of the power, but it's also that delay that makes it fail on teams.

An unwritten law of the development cycle is to always assume any positive development does not affect the Epic ATs.

Heh, heh.

The City of Heroes Community is a special one and I will always look fondly on my times arguing, discussing and playing with you all. Thanks and thanks to the developers for a special experience.

Hey, PBs got a great buff last run around.

Your character does not have capped defense. Depending on your AT the cap is between 175% - 225%. Your defense is not teal in the combat window, it can go higher. STOP SAYING IT IS CAPPED! The correct term is Soft Cap.
I enjoy playing in Mids. I specialize in Melee Characters, other AT's usually bore me.

Kheldian and Fortunata nuke changes went to Beta in the last update.

Omega Maneuver has not changed, because of its "... pretty amazing utility..."

Well, it is the only nuke in the game that can take an alpha for you. Wouldn't say that's 'amazing' but it is kind of cool.

I love Omega. I try and use it whenever it's up, but I usually forget.

Guess that sums it up: a kind of cool aggro gathering nuke that I love but usually forget I have.
